Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Vijayanagar, RR Nagar & Kengeri, Bengaluru
West Bengaluru runs out along Mysore Road, and for a tutor it is one of the more straightforward zones in the city: plotted layouts where you ring a doorbell, and a metro line that links the main localities end to end. If you live anywhere near the western Purple Line, the case for adding these localities to your profile is strong.
No open home-tuition requests in Vijayanagar, RR Nagar & Kengeri right now. New family requests appear here as they come in; add Vijayanagar, RR Nagar & Kengeri to your travel areas so they can reach you.
Five localities make up the zone. Basaveshwaranagar, first called West of Chord Road, grew in the 1970s and 1980s on hilly streets, and is a settled, green area of independent houses and 2 and 3 BHK apartment buildings. Vijayanagar, between Mysore Road and Magadi Road, has tree-lined streets of houses with apartment buildings mixed in and takes in Hampinagar, Saraswatinagar and Attiguppe. Nagarbhavi's 1st and 2nd Stages are largely independent houses on layouts such as Annapoorneshwari Nagar and Vinayaka Layout. RR Nagar, or Rajarajeshwari Nagar, entered through an arch on Mysore Road, mixes older layouts with newer, sometimes gated, apartment projects. Kengeri began as a BDA satellite town and runs from houses and builder floors to gated complexes and plotted developments towards the NICE Road and the Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway.
The Purple Line opened westward in three steps: Hosahalli, Vijayanagar, Attiguppe and Deepanjali Nagar on 16 November 2015; Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Pattanagere and the two Kengeri stations on 30 August 2021; and Challaghatta on 9 October 2023. A tutor can therefore ride between Vijayanagar, RR Nagar and Kengeri and take a short auto to the house, avoiding Mysore Road and the Outer Ring Road at office hours. Kengeri railway station on the Mysuru line stands near the metro, which helps tutors coming by train.
Basaveshwaranagar and Nagarbhavi have no station inside them. Tutors use Rajajinagar, Vijayanagar or Attiguppe and an auto, or come by two-wheeler. The Outer Ring Road runs past Nagarbhavi.
The zone research describes requests ranging from primary support to SSLC or PUC help and CBSE or ICSE subject specialists, and families across Bengaluru also ask for ISC, IB and IGCSE. Write your profile to match what you actually teach: the boards, the classes, and for PUC the medium of the textbooks you use. Because NXTutors matches on class, board and subject before distance, a clear profile is what puts you in the two or three tutors a family receives.
Once that fits, distance sets the order. Tutors who live in Basaveshwaranagar, Vijayanagar, Nagarbhavi, RR Nagar or Kengeri are listed first, then tutors who travel into this western zone, then the rest of Bengaluru, then online tutors. A tutor in Rajajinagar or Hosahalli who adds Vijayanagar and Attiguppe as travel areas moves ahead of the citywide list for those homes.
Living inside the zone also helps your week. A tutor based in RR Nagar, for instance, can take students in Kengeri one evening and in Vijayanagar the next, all on one line, and still offer online classes to families further away on the remaining days.
Most homes in the plotted layouts are houses with room for a two-wheeler, so visits happen at the doorstep. Ask Basaveshwaranagar families for the stage, block and a map pin; the streets are hilly, some are steep, and a pin saves a search on the first visit. Nagarbhavi is similar, with parking usually easy. The newer apartment projects in RR Nagar and Kengeri keep a visitor list, so ask to be added before the demo.
Mysore Road, Chord Road and Magadi Road are slow in office hours, which makes a mid-evening lesson easier to reach on time. Tutors moving along the Purple Line are largely spared that traffic. For the outlying layouts, adding one online session a week to a home visit keeps the plan steady without a second trip. Grouping students near two neighbouring stations, such as Vijayanagar and Attiguppe, lets you teach two lessons in an evening with little travel between them.

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Yes. The Purple Line links Vijayanagar, Attiguppe and Deepanjali Nagar with RR Nagar, Pattanagere and the two Kengeri stations, so you can ride directly and take a short auto to each home.
Ride to Rajajinagar or Vijayanagar and take an auto, or come by two-wheeler. Ask the family for a map pin, as the hilly streets can be confusing on a first visit.
Usually. Newer gated complexes there put the tutor on a visitor list, while the older satellite-town houses are doorstep visits. Ask the parent before the demo.

Often, yes. Its 1st and 2nd Stages are mostly independent houses on plotted layouts, with apartment buildings on some main roads, so you arrive at the doorstep and parking is usually easy. Without a vehicle, combine the metro to Vijayanagar or Attiguppe with an auto, since no station sits inside Nagarbhavi.
