Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Bengaluru
A maths tutor in Bengaluru can be asked for SSLC algebra on Monday, II PUC linear programming on Wednesday and IB Analysis and Approaches on Saturday, sometimes by families living in the same apartment block. The city runs almost every school syllabus the country offers, and parents judge a maths tutor first by whether that tutor knows their child's paper. This page is for teachers, engineers and postgraduates deciding whether Bengaluru maths tuition is worth their evenings, and which part of it suits them.
No open maths requests in Bengaluru right now. New family requests appear here as they come in; join now so they can reach you.
Joining NXTutors is free. You list the classes and boards you actually teach, pick the zones you can reach after school, and set your own fee, which families see before a free first demo. The page template below shows real open requests when there are any, and how leads, credits and payment work, so this text sticks to what the work itself looks like here.
The Karnataka state board shapes a large share of maths requests. KSEAB conducts the SSLC at the end of Class 10, and its published 2026-27 blueprint gives SSLC Mathematics an 80-mark paper of 38 questions spread over 14 chapters, from Real Numbers and Polynomials to Statistics and Probability. Triangles, Arithmetic Progressions and Pair of Linear Equations carry eight or nine marks each, and the sixteen one-mark questions come with no internal choice at all. A tutor who knows that a student cannot skip chapters and hope for choices, and who drills the four- and five-mark questions that separate the highest grades, is speaking the language SSLC parents use.
After the SSLC, many students move to a PU college for I and II PUC. The II PUC Mathematics paper described in the board's 2026-27 material is 80 marks over three hours in Parts A to E: Part A holds fifteen multiple-choice and five fill-in-the-blank items, Part E holds the six- and four-mark questions, and linear programming is answered on graph sheet. Only the first answer written in Part A is counted, so crossing out costs marks. PUC maths also feeds KCET, where KEA blends CET marks with II PUC physics, chemistry and maths marks in equal shares for the engineering rank, which means a PUC maths tutor is often coaching for two papers at once.
Beside the state board sit CBSE, where Class 10 students take Mathematics Standard or Basic in an 80-mark board paper, CISCE's ICSE and ISC with their full-working style, and IB and Cambridge IGCSE families who ask by course name: Maths AA or AI at SL or HL, or IGCSE 0580 Core or Extended. Class 11 and 12 students heading for JEE add a third layer. You do not need to cover all of this. A clear statement such as "SSLC and II PUC maths, English medium" or "IB AA HL" is what gets a profile noticed.
Bengaluru maths work follows the metro more than the map. The Green Line runs through Jayanagar, Banashankari and JP Nagar to Kanakapura Road and north through Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar and Yeshwanthpur, so a tutor near any of those stations can serve two zones of mostly independent houses where the house number, cross and main road are all you need. The Purple Line links Vijayanagar, RR Nagar and Kengeri in the west with Indiranagar, KR Puram and Whitefield in the east. The Yellow Line, open since August 2025, joins BTM Layout, Silk Board, Bommanahalli and Electronic City along Hosur Road.
Where there is no open station, the road decides. Hennur, Kalyan Nagar and Banaswadi have no metro yet, Hebbal and Yelahanka wait for the Blue Line, and Bannerghatta Road waits for the Pink Line, so tutors who already live there have the clearest edge for weekday lessons. In Koramangala, HSR and Bellandur, crossing the Outer Ring Road at office hours wrecks timetables, so keep to one side of it. Whitefield, Electronic City and Sarjapur Road towers register visitors at the security desk and some ask for photo ID, so plan five extra minutes at the gate.
Families here usually compare two or three maths tutors side by side, so your profile has to answer their first question in one line: which paper do you teach? List boards and classes exactly, add the medium for state-board work, and name the zones you can reach on a weekday at five, not every zone you have ever visited. A tutor in Kengeri who offers the Purple Line belt plus online classes looks more dependable than one who ticks all ten zones.
In the free demo, work one question from the student's own recent test. For an SSLC student that might be a four-mark Triangles proof; for II PUC, a linear programming problem drawn on graph paper; for IB, a short exploration-style discussion of method. Ask how the student loses marks, write down what you would fix in the first month, and leave the parent with that plan. Then see how you get paid on this page before agreeing the weekly pattern.

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.
A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
No, but say what you can do. PUC maths textbooks come in Kannada-medium and English-medium versions, and a student who writes the paper in Kannada needs the terms from that book. If you teach in English only, write that clearly so the match goes to English-medium state-board, CBSE, ICSE or international students.
Often, yes. The chapter names on the 2027 II PUC maths blueprint follow the NCERT Class 12 sequence, so content overlaps. What differs is the paper: Parts A to E, the counted-first-answer rule in Part A and linear programming on graph sheet. Practise the board's model papers before you take a PUC student.
KCET maths is a 60-question, one-mark OMR paper with no negative marking, and for engineering KEA combines CET marks with II PUC physics, chemistry and maths marks in equal shares. So a tutor protects the written board answers and adds short timed sets for speed. Check every rule in KEA's latest bulletin.
Zones on an open metro line: Jayanagar, JP Nagar and Banashankari or Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar and Yeshwanthpur on the Green Line, Vijayanagar, RR Nagar and Kengeri or Indiranagar on the Purple Line, and BTM to Electronic City on the Yellow Line. Hennur, Hebbal and Bannerghatta Road still need road travel.
The city has IB and Cambridge IGCSE families who ask for Maths AA or AI at SL or HL, or IGCSE 0580 Core or Extended. Specialists are spread thinly across a large city, so many of these students mix a home visit with online sessions. Name the course codes you have taught.
Yes. Choose online on your profile and families across Bengaluru, or anywhere in India, who want an online maths tutor can be matched with you. For home-tuition requests, local tutors are shortlisted first and online tutors after them.
