Home tuition jobs in Whitefield, Marathahalli and KR Puram, Bengaluru

Most first visits in Bengaluru's eastern tech belt begin at a security desk, not a front door. Homes here are mostly apartment towers and gated villa communities, with builder floors and independent houses on the older streets, and some desks ask a visiting tutor for photo ID. If that suits you, and you can reach the Purple Line or live on the right side of the Outer Ring Road, this zone is worth a place in your travel areas.

The belt runs from KR Puram, where Old Madras Road meets the Outer Ring Road, through Mahadevapura to Whitefield and Brookefield, with Marathahalli at the junction of the ORR and Old Airport Road. Whitefield began in 1882 as a settlement of the Eurasian and Anglo-Indian Association and stayed a village until an IT park arrived in the late 1990s; Kadugodi, Hoodi, Varthur and Hagadur lie around it. Brookefield is mostly apartment complexes with a few villas and plots. Marathahalli packs apartment complexes, builder floors and side-lane houses around Kundalahalli, Munnekollal and Kadubeesanahalli. Mahadevapura, once a separate municipal council, is largely gated communities, and KR Puram, headquarters of Bengaluru East taluk, has apartments with older houses and plots near Vengayyana Lake.

Getting to Whitefield, Marathahalli & KR Puram

The Purple Line reached Whitefield (Kadugodi) on 26 March 2023, and since the Baiyappanahalli to KR Puram gap closed on 9 October 2023, trains run without a break from the city centre through Krishnarajapura, Singayyanapalya, Garudacharapalya, Hoodi, Kundalahalli and Hopefarm Channasandra to the terminus. A tutor living in Indiranagar, or anywhere further west on the line, can ride in. Kundalahalli is the nearest stop for Brookefield, and Hopefarm Channasandra helps homes towards Whitefield.

Marathahalli is the gap in that network. Its station belongs to the Blue Line stretch from Central Silk Board to KR Puram, still under construction, and the nearest rail halt is Bellandur Road. Most tutors reach Marathahalli on a two-wheeler, by bus or by cab. KR Puram also has a railway station on the Chennai line, crossed by a cable-stayed bridge opened in 2003.

What families in Whitefield, Marathahalli & KR Puram ask for

With so many families in gated communities, requests can cover every stage from primary to senior school. Across Bengaluru, the boards in play are the Karnataka state board's SSLC and PUC, CBSE, ICSE and ISC, and IB or Cambridge IGCSE. The zone research does not split those by locality, so the useful step is on your side: state your boards and classes clearly, and add whether you will teach at home, online or a mix.

Matching runs outward from the family's home. Tutors living in Whitefield, Brookefield, Marathahalli, Mahadevapura or KR Puram are listed first, then tutors who already travel into the zone, then those elsewhere in Bengaluru, then online tutors. If you live a few Purple Line stops away, list the stations' localities as places you travel to; if you live in Marathahalli itself, you hold a natural advantage for nearby families, since outside tutors find it harder to reach.

Society entry and visitor norms

Carry photo ID on every first visit. Ask the parent to share your name and number with the society before the demo, along with the tower and flat number. Brookefield homes are mostly gated complexes, so pre-registration there is the norm. Builder floors and side-lane houses in Marathahalli and KR Puram are simpler doorstep visits. Keeping one fixed weekly slot helps security staff recognise you and shortens the wait at the gate.

Timings that work in Whitefield, Marathahalli & KR Puram

Plan lessons in the gap between school and the evening office rush on ITPL Road, Whitefield Main Road and the ORR. Around the Old Madras Road junction at KR Puram, allow a margin for the walk or auto at office peaks. Near a Purple Line station, a tutor coming by metro plus a short auto is steadier than one driving. Around Marathahalli, a late-afternoon or weekend slot is the practical pairing with a tutor based on the family's side of the ORR, and one online session a week can replace a hard midweek trip.

Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

How leads and credits work

Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

Is Marathahalli reachable by metro?

Not yet. Its Blue Line station is under construction. Trains stop at the Bellandur Road rail halt, but most tutors come by two-wheeler, bus or cab, so living on the same side of the Outer Ring Road matters more here than anywhere else in the zone.

Which Purple Line stops help me cover Whitefield and Brookefield?

Kundalahalli for Brookefield, Hopefarm Channasandra for homes towards Whitefield, and Whitefield (Kadugodi) at the end of the line. Hoodi, Garudacharapalya and Singayyanapalya sit in between, and Krishnarajapura serves KR Puram.

Will families here see my fee before choosing me?

Yes. Your fee is on your profile, and the family sees it before the free demo. You decide it yourself. Joining is free, and the section on payment below explains how leads and credits work.

I live in the west of the city. Should I list Whitefield?

Only if you will make the trip every week. The Purple Line makes it possible, but the ride is long. Many tutors in that position list nearer localities for home visits and offer online lessons, which still reach families here once local and travelling tutors are shown.
