JEE and NEET tutor jobs in Pune

Picture a Class 12 student in a Wakad society with coaching three evenings a week on the other side of the city. They do not need more material. They need someone who will rebuild one mechanics topic properly on a free afternoon, review last Sunday's coaching test question by question, and keep the HSC journal from falling behind. That is what most JEE and NEET tutoring in Pune looks like: targeted hours that fit around a crowded week, not a second coaching class.

Who asks for jee and neet tutors in Pune

JEE requests come mainly from PCM students in junior colleges and CBSE or ISC schools. NTA's 2026 bulletin set JEE (Main) Paper 1 as a three-hour computer-based test: in each of mathematics, physics and chemistry, 20 multiple-choice questions and five with a numerical answer, 300 marks in all, with a mark lost for wrong answers in both sections. Students who do well become eligible for JEE (Advanced), two compulsory three-hour papers set by the IITs. Pune families usually ask for help in one or two subjects, most often maths or physics, rather than all three.

NEET requests come from PCB students. The 2026 NEET (UG) was a single pen-and-paper sitting of three hours with 180 compulsory questions, and biology carried 90 of them, split between botany and zoology. State Board students face a particular gap here: the HSC is taught from the board's own textbooks, while NEET follows the National Medical Commission syllabus and tracks the NCERT books closely. A tutor who maps one against the other early in Class 11 is valuable.

Almost every student in this group also sits MHT-CET, Maharashtra's state entrance test, which in 2026 ran 180 minutes with a hard switch at 90 minutes and no negative marking. A tutor who prepares well for JEE or NEET usually leaves a student well placed for MHT-CET once the state's Class 11 chapter list is checked, but not the other way round. Parents will ask how you balance all three alongside the HSC, and they want a concrete answer.

Parents also ask for help much earlier than Class 11. A student in Class 9 or 10 who is considering the science stream benefits from strong algebra, careful reading of physics problems and chemistry basics, and some Pune families ask for a tutor to build those foundations before junior college begins.

Where in Pune the work is

For entrance students, the zone often decides how many sessions a week are possible. In Kothrud, Karve Nagar & Deccan, with Aqua Line stations from Vanaz to Deccan Gymkhana and the Purple Line at Shivaji Nagar, a tutor can come by metro and two shorter home sessions are realistic. In Viman Nagar, Kalyani Nagar & Kharadi, the Aqua Line reaches Ramwadi, but Kharadi has no station and lessons start better after Nagar Road's evening wave has passed.

In Wakad and Hinjewadi, where coaching often sits across the city, a common pattern is one long weekday home session and a weekend test review at home or online. In Hadapsar, Kondhwa & NIBM and in Katraj, Bibwewadi & Sinhagad Road there is no metro inside the zone, so tutors who live in the belt are the ones families keep. Agree an online fallback in June for the heaviest monsoon days.

What families in Pune expect

  • Deep command of one or two subjects at JEE (Main), JEE (Advanced) or NEET level, rather than a thin spread across all four.
  • Familiarity with the current NTA bulletin and the MHT-CET syllabus, quoted only from official sites.
  • Test review discipline: going through coaching tests question by question with an error log.
  • A map of the NTA units against the junior college or school term plan, with late topics flagged.
  • Calculator-free numerical work for physics, chemistry and maths.
  • Respect for the HSC or CBSE board paper and practical journal alongside entrance work.
  • Flexibility to fit the student's coaching days, with a clear weekly slot that does not clash.
  • A plan for the months after the board exam, when full timed mock papers, including the state CET Cell's own mock link, take over.

How to get picked

In this category Pune parents read profiles closely. Name the tests and the subject: "JEE Main and Advanced physics; MHT-CET PCM physics; HSC Physics 54". Describe how you run a test review. Never quote ranks or results you cannot document, and do not promise a score. If you work around a fixed coaching schedule of your own, say which evenings you are free.

At the demo, ask for the student's last coaching test. Pick three questions they got wrong, find the reason for each, and re-teach one. Then show the parent a two-week plan with the coaching days marked. Families compare two or three matched tutors with their fees shown in advance, and switching tutor is free for them, so a tutor who reduces stress in the first hour stands out.

Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

Paid plans are optional

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.

How leads and credits work

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

Do Pune families want one tutor for all JEE subjects?

Rarely. Most ask for one or two subjects, usually maths or physics for JEE and biology or chemistry for NEET, alongside coaching.

How does MHT-CET fit with JEE or NEET tutoring?

Most Pune entrance students sit MHT-CET too. Strong JEE or NEET preparation usually covers much of it, but check the state's Class 11 chapter list and its calculator-free, no-negative-marking format on cetcell.mahacet.org.

What gap do State Board students have for NEET?

The HSC uses the board's own textbooks, while NEET follows the NMC syllabus and tracks NCERT. A tutor should map the two chapter by chapter early in Class 11.

Can I teach JEE or NEET online to Pune students?

Yes. Many families in Hinjewadi, Wakad, Kharadi and Baner combine one home session with online test reviews. Online requests are not limited by your address.

Can I mention my students' past ranks?

Only what you can document and the family can check. Never promise ranks or scores; describe your method instead.

Is there a fee to join for entrance tutors?

No. Joining is free, the Free plan has monthly lead credits, and paid plans are optional subscriptions for more credits and visibility.
