Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Katraj, Bibwewadi & Sinhagad Road, Pune
"Sinhagad Road" on a request tells a tutor very little, because the road is long. It runs from near Sarasbaug towards Sinhagad fort through Vitthalwadi, Anand Nagar, Hingne Khurd, Vadgaon Budruk and, further out, Dhayari. Before you accept a request in south Pune, ask for the neighbourhood as well as the road; that single detail decides whether the slot is a ten-minute ride or a long one.

This zone runs from Swargate towards the hills and takes in Katraj, Bibwewadi, Dhankawadi and the Sinhagad Road belt. Katraj, below the ghat on the Satara highway, has an old lake from the Peshwa period ringed by independent houses, cooperative societies and newer apartment complexes. Bibwewadi, near Market Yard, has independent homes, builder floors and apartment buildings side by side, with flats of one to three bedrooms typical. Dhankawadi, which joined the city in 1995, has houses, apartment complexes and a few gated communities, and much of Sinhagad Road's former farmland is now apartment complexes. Joining NXTutors to teach here is free.
The metro stops at the zone's edge. The Purple Line terminates underground at Swargate, and an underground extension south to Katraj, with stops such as Padmavati and Balaji Nagar, is planned but has no trains yet. A tutor who comes by metro gets off at Swargate and finishes by bus or auto; most others ride in by two-wheeler. On Sinhagad Road a long flyover now lifts through traffic above the most crowded stretch. Satara Road and Sinhagad Road are both heavy at school and office hours, so check the onward bus or auto from Swargate fits the lesson time before fixing a weekly slot.
South Pune's housing mix, with many independent houses, builder floors and cooperative societies, means many families with children who have lived in the area for years, alongside newer apartment households on Sinhagad Road. Across Pune, the State Board SSC and HSC are widely followed, along with CBSE and ICSE, and Marathi-medium help is a request tutors meet across the city. Tutors who live in Katraj, Dhankawadi or along Sinhagad Road can build several nearby students into one evening, which outside tutors find hard because of the long roads.
Along Sinhagad Road especially, distance inside the zone matters as much as distance into it. A tutor in Dhayari can serve Vadgaon Budruk and Hingne Khurd easily but may find Bibwewadi slow at peak hour; a tutor in Dhankawadi can cover Katraj and Bibwewadi well. Add the specific neighbourhoods you can reach on your profile, not just the road name, so the families who see your profile are ones you can actually visit every week.
In an independent house or builder floor, the tutor usually rings at the door and comes straight up, which makes early slots easy to keep. Apartment buildings may keep a visitor book, and the few gated communities want your name in advance. For a house in an older lane, ask the family for a landmark and a map pin; for a society, the building and flat number.
Because many homes here are houses rather than gated towers, the first visit is often simpler, but finding the right door can take longer. A short call with the parent before the demo, confirming the lane, a landmark and where to leave a two-wheeler, saves time on the day and makes a good first impression.
Plan around Satara Road and Sinhagad Road at school and office hours: a slot before or after the rush works well. Doorstep entry in houses makes an early after-school lesson realistic for a tutor living close by. On the heaviest rain days, move the lesson online rather than ride the long roads; agree that rule with the family in June.
