Tutor jobs for B.Ed teachers and graduates

A B.Ed or D.El.Ed gives you something many tutors never get: training in how children learn, how to plan a lesson backwards from an outcome, how to assess without crushing confidence, and how to manage a student who has decided they are bad at a subject. In a classroom of forty those skills are stretched thin. In one-to-one tuition you can use every one of them, every session.

This page is for B.Ed and D.El.Ed graduates, trainee teachers, and teachers between posts or preparing for teacher-eligibility tests who want to tutor through NXTutors. It explains which requests suit you, how to show your training to a parent in a way that matters to them, how tutoring can sit alongside exam preparation or a school job, and what joining involves. Joining is free, and nothing here promises students or income.

How you get tuition work on NXTutors

Six steps from applying to your first class. Swipe to see each step.

  1. Sign up with a one-time code

Pick the classes and method subjects your training prepared you for, and the hours you can give.

  2. Upload your ID; our team reviews it

Apply on WhatsApp; joining is free. Confirm with a one-time code at first login.

  3. Your profile carries the Verified badge

List qualifications as on your certificates, plus subjects, boards, fee and travel areas, then upload your ID.

  4. A family nearby sends a request

Read each masked lead and unlock only those that match your training and your schedule.

  5. Free demo; the family sees your fee first

Plan the free demo with a clear objective, a check for understanding and a short closing task.

  6. Teach at home, online or both

Keep a session record for each student and share a brief progress note with the parent regularly.

Why teaching training shows in tuition

Most tutors teach the way they were taught. A trained teacher can do something more deliberate: start from what the student already knows, set a clear objective for the hour, check understanding with a question rather than 'Did you get it?', and end with a task that shows whether the objective was met. Parents may not use those words, but they notice a lesson that has a shape.

Your training in child development matters most with younger students and with those who have had a bad run in a subject. Knowing that a nine-year-old cannot hold a long chain of steps, or that a teenager who refuses to try is often protecting themselves from failure, changes how you teach and how the family sees you.

Which requests suit a B.Ed graduate

Match requests to your teaching subjects and the stage your training focused on. D.El.Ed and primary-focused B.Ed graduates fit Classes 1 to 5 well, including all-subject homework support. Secondary B.Ed graduates usually fit Classes 6 to 10 in their method subjects, and Classes 11 and 12 where their degree gives them the depth.

List exactly those subjects and class bands on your profile, along with the boards you have taught or trained on. Requests reach you as leads only when they match what you list, so precision brings you the families you are most suited to serve.

Showing your training to a parent

Parents rarely ask what a B.Ed involves. Translate it: 'I plan each session from the school's current chapter, start by checking last week's work, and end with a short written task so you can see progress.' Mention your teaching practice or internship classes and subjects, and any school teaching experience, described by class and subject rather than by school name.

Keep a simple record for each student, such as the date, topic, what went well and what to revisit. Sharing a two-line summary with the parent every couple of weeks is the kind of professional habit that trained teachers do naturally and families value highly.

Bring one or two teaching aids you made during training if they suit the class: a fraction strip, a word wall card set, a simple concept map. Used in the demo, they show in a minute what years of training mean in practice, and they cost the family nothing.

Tutoring alongside teacher-eligibility preparation

Many B.Ed graduates prepare for teacher-eligibility tests such as CTET or a state TET, or for recruitment exams, while waiting for a post. Tutoring can sit well alongside that preparation, because explaining fractions to a Class 4 child or the parts of speech to a Class 6 student is exactly the content and pedagogy those tests examine. Check the official notification of whichever test you are taking for its syllabus and dates; we do not publish them.

Plan around your own exam weeks. Tell families early which weeks you may need to move sessions, offer online lessons in those weeks rather than cancelling, and keep your load modest during heavy preparation months.

If you already teach in a school

Some trained teachers tutor in the evenings or at weekends while working in a school. Whether your employer or service rules allow private tuition is something you must check for yourself; some schools and some government services restrict it, and NXTutors cannot advise on that. On the platform you teach as an independent professional and choose your own hours.

Where tutoring is allowed, avoid any overlap that could look like a conflict, such as tutoring a student from a class you teach or assess. Families respect a teacher who draws that line clearly.

If you are between school posts, say so honestly when a family asks how long you can commit. A parent can plan around a tutor who may move on at the end of the session; what upsets families is a sudden departure in the middle of exam preparation.

The demo, leads and your fee

Each lead arrives masked: class, need, area, timing and a budget band, never the family's name or number. If it fits, you spend credits to unlock it and send one proposal with your fee per hour and up to three demo slots. The first class with a family you are matched with is a free demo; plan it the way your training taught you, with a clear objective, a check for understanding and a closing task.

You set your own fee for each class, and the family sees it before the demo. A trained teacher can justify a professional fee by the quality of the lesson rather than by claims; see how you get paid in the fee section further down this page.

Joining as a trained teacher

Joining is free. Apply on WhatsApp through the form on /become-a-tutor; the team replies and sets up your account. At first login you confirm with a one-time code, then add subjects, class bands, boards, fee, home or online, travel areas and your qualifications as they appear on your certificates. Upload a government photo ID under Documents. Tutors who join go through an ID check, and the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed it; it confirms identity, not qualifications, and it is not a police check.

Women tutors welcome

For women tutors: you set the terms

Women tutors are welcome on NXTutors, for home classes, online classes or both. You decide how, where and when you teach. These are the controls the product gives you, and the habits our safeguarding policy asks of tutors and families.

  • Choose home, online or hybrid teaching on your profile, and change it whenever you like.
  • List the areas you travel to: home requests come only from those areas.
  • Set your own days and timings; requests are matched to the hours you give.
  • Every match starts with a demo class, and our safeguarding policy asks the parent to be at home for it.
  • Teach where a parent or another adult is at home; in gated societies the family adds you to the gate or visitor register.
  • Keep messages with the parent or a family group, never a child's private chat.
  • Every tutor who joins goes through the same ID check. It confirms identity; it is not a police check.
  • Stop any time. If anything worries you, stop the classes and tell us on WhatsApp or through the contact page.

Read the safeguarding policy and how the ID check works.

Why tutors choose NXTutors

What is different from a directory listing or a tuition bureau.

  • You set your fee

Your fee per class is on your profile, and families see it before the demo, so there is no haggling after a good class.

  • Matched, nearest first

Each request goes to two or three tutors who fit it, nearest first, not to a long list of people chasing the same family.

  • Demo first

The first class is a free demo. Families decide after meeting you, not from a phone call or a price list.

  • No made-up leads

We never show invented requests. The only request details on these pages are real and anonymised, and only once there are three or more.

  • An ID check for everyone

Every tutor who joins goes through the same ID check. Real tutors who pass carry the Verified badge; sample profiles are always labelled.

  • AI-first, with real teachers

Parents can ask NXT AI about your profile and compare tutors side by side. The teaching is always yours.

Tutor plans and what each includes

Tutor plans are listed on our pricing page with what each one includes. Read them before you apply; we do not quote prices on this page. Tutors are independent: you set your own fee, and families pay you for the classes they take.

Questions from tutors

Do I need a B.Ed to tutor on NXTutors?

No. NXTutors sets no minimum qualification; you must be 18 or over and your profile must be true. A B.Ed or D.El.Ed is a strong point to list, and families often look for one, especially for younger children.

Can I tutor while preparing for CTET or a state TET?

Yes, if your schedule allows. Tutoring overlaps naturally with the content and pedagogy those tests cover. Check the official notification for the syllabus and dates of your test, and plan lighter tutoring around your exam weeks.

I teach in a school. Can I also tutor through NXTutors?

On NXTutors you teach as an independent professional. Whether your school or service rules permit private tuition is for you to check; we cannot advise on it. Where it is allowed, avoid tutoring students you teach or assess.

Should I mention my teaching practice or internship?

Yes, by class and subject, for example 'teaching practice in Class 7 science'. Leave out school names and any results you cannot prove.

Which classes are a good fit for a D.El.Ed graduate?

Usually Classes 1 to 5, including all-subject homework support and early reading and number work. List exactly the classes and subjects you trained for so matching requests reach you.

Is there any cost to join?

No. Joining, onboarding and the Free plan cost nothing, and the Free plan includes monthly lead credits. Paid plans are optional subscriptions and never needed to apply for a tuition.
