Tutoring in Kota: what to know
Kota falls into five zones for tutors on NXTutors. In the south, Talwandi and Mahaveer Nagar takes in Talwandi, Indra Vihar, Mahaveer Nagar, Keshavpura and Jawahar Nagar; Dadabari and Vigyan Nagar adds Dadabari, Shrinathpuram and Vigyan Nagar; and Rangbari and Swami Vivekanand Nagar covers the newer schemes at the southern edge together with Rajeev Gandhi Nagar. Central Kota means the market localities of Gumanpura, Rampura and Nayapura, and North Kota runs from Bhimganj Mandi at Kota Junction through Borkhera to Kunhari on the Bundi Road side. Independent houses are the usual home in the southern colonies, while flats, gated complexes and homes behind shopfronts turn up in the centre and the north. Most tutors get around by two-wheeler or auto.
Kota families choose between RBSE, the state's Board of Secondary Education, CBSE and CISCE, while IB or IGCSE learners usually work with online specialists. RBSE, whose headquarters is in Ajmer, sets the Class 10 Secondary School Examination and the Class 12 Senior Secondary Examination, which has Arts, Science and Commerce streams. Where a Kota student also attends coaching, a home tutor is there as support alongside school and that schedule, not as a repeat of it: ask at the demo what the coaching class covers and which hours are left. Say on your profile whether you teach in Hindi, English or both.
Home visits, online classes or a blend of the two are all open to you. Suppose a parent in Swami Vivekanand Nagar asks for a tutor: NXTutors shortlists two or three, giving priority to people living in that scheme, then to those who travel there, then to the rest of the zone, Kota as a whole and online tutors. Your fee is on show to the family ahead of a free first demo, and they can change tutor later without paying for the switch. Evening traffic builds on Talwandi's main roads, in the Gumanpura and Rampura markets and on the station roads at Bhimganj Mandi, so add only the localities you can reach at lesson time every week, and teach online past them.

1
Sign up with a one-time code
Sign up by confirming your phone number or email with a one-time code. Next, add your subjects, classes and boards, RBSE, CBSE or ICSE among them, your teaching language and the Kota localities you can reach.
-
2
Upload your ID; our team reviews it
Upload a government photo ID so our team can review it. This is the ID check that tutors who join go through; it establishes who you are and is not a police or background check.
-
3
Your profile carries the Verified badge
Your profile lists your boards, the localities you cover anywhere from Talwandi to Kunhari, your free hours and your own fee, and it carries the Verified badge only once that review is complete.

4
A family nearby sends a request
Say a family in Dadabari or Vigyan Nagar asks for a tutor. NXTutors shortlists two or three, giving priority to tutors living in that locality, next to those who already go there, and after that to the wider zone, Kota and online.
-
5
Free demo; the family sees your fee first
Your fee is visible to the family before they book anything. The opening class, a free demo in their home with a parent asked to stay in, lets you gauge the student's level and the hours left after school and coaching.

6
Teach at home, online or both
After that, take home lessons in the localities you picked, teach online to students anywhere in Rajasthan or India, or combine the two, say a Sunday visit in Rangbari and weekday classes online.
Boards you can teach in Kota
In Kota you may teach RBSE students working towards the Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations, CBSE and CISCE students in the same classes, and IB or IGCSE learners, who more often take lessons online. RBSE publishes its syllabus and notices on its own website, so plan each term from there rather than from old printouts. CBSE planning starts from NCERT books and the sample papers on the CBSE academic site; ICSE and ISC from the regulations CISCE issues; IB and IGCSE from the official subject guides and syllabuses. Show your boards, classes and teaching medium plainly on your profile.
RBSE
Secondary (Class 10); Senior Secondary (Class 12)
Headquartered in Ajmer, RBSE runs the Class 10 Secondary School Examination and the Class 12 Senior Secondary Examination with Arts, Science and Commerce streams; for Sanskrit Shiksha students it also holds Praveshika (Class 10) and Varishtha Upadhyay (Class 12). Check the student's medium at the demo, and take syllabus details and notices only from rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in.
For a CBSE student in Kota, keep lessons tied to NCERT chapters and to the sample papers and marking schemes on cbseacademic.nic.in. Where the student also attends coaching, ask what that class covers, so your hour goes on school tests, written answers and board practice instead of going over the same ground. Fix the slot around the coaching timetable.
CISCE
ICSE (Class 10); ISC (Class 12)
Students sit ICSE in Class 10 and ISC in Class 12; both expect full written answers over a broad syllabus, and English carries prescribed literature. Plan from the regulations and specimen question papers published on cisce.org. If you know these papers well, home visits within your own Kota zone can sit alongside online ISC students in other cities.
IB
Diploma Programme (Classes 11–12)
For an IB Diploma learner in Kota, lessons are usually online and follow the subject guides published on ibo.org. Help with planning and give feedback on the Internal Assessment and the Extended Essay, but the work itself must remain the student's own. Agree a fixed weekly online slot that sits comfortably around the school day.
Before planning anything, ask whether the student sits Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel papers, and at which tier. Revision then runs on past papers, mark schemes and a clear grasp of command words. Cambridge syllabuses are on cambridgeinternational.org, and for a Kota learner, online lessons with a specialist are often the practical route.
