Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Kota has a great many coaching centres, and for a lot of local teenagers the coaching class and the school day together already fill the calendar. A home tutor is not there to run a second course. The tutor's place is narrower and more useful: clearing the questions the class moved past, keeping practice regular in the subject that lags, and making sure school and board work do not fall behind while entrance work takes the evenings. This page explains how families in Kota set that up, from finding the hour that is really free to choosing between a tutor at the table and one on a screen. The national JEE home tutor page describes the exam itself in more depth.
The National Testing Agency conducts JEE (Main). In its 2026 bulletin, Paper 1 was a computer-based test in mathematics, physics and chemistry, with 25 questions per subject: 20 multiple-choice and 5 with a numerical answer. That made 75 questions and 300 marks. A correct response earned four marks and an incorrect one cost a mark, in both sections. The paper ran in two sessions, the better score counted, and it could be taken in any of 13 languages. JEE (Advanced), set by the IITs, followed for candidates who became eligible through Main under the rules in its brochure; in 2026 it had two compulsory papers in English and Hindi and allowed at most two attempts in consecutive years.
Patterns and rules can change. Before planning anything around them, read the current documents on jeemain.nta.nic.in and jeeadv.ac.in rather than a summary on any website, including this one.
The class teaches to the whole room and keeps moving. A home tutor teaches to one student and can stop. In Kota, that difference pays off in four kinds of work:
| Part of the preparation | With a coaching class | School and tutor only |
|---|---|---|
| Chapter order and pace | Set by the class | Agreed with the tutor at the start, from the official syllabus |
| Unfinished problems | The tutor, weekly | The tutor, weekly |
| Timed practice papers | The class's own tests, reviewed with the tutor | Past NTA papers, set and reviewed by the tutor |
| Board answers and practicals | The tutor keeps an eye on them | The tutor and the school |
| A study routine at home | The family, with the tutor's weekly plan | The family, with the tutor's weekly plan |
The reasoning in our coaching or home tutor guide was written for another city, but the way it divides the work applies here too.
A tutor slot only works if it survives every week of the year. Before asking for a tutor, write out the school timetable and the class timetable side by side and find the gap that never moves. The table shows where that gap tends to be.
| Slot | Good for | Kota point |
|---|---|---|
| Early morning, before school | A focused home session in the weaker subject | Well clear of the evening rush on the southern main roads |
| Weekend morning | A practice paper, then its review that afternoon | Market roads in Gumanpura and Rampura are calmer before the afternoon |
| Late evening after class | A short online doubt session while problems are fresh | Nobody crosses the city after dark |
| Test weeks in class | Review only, no new chapters | Keeps the tutor's work from clashing with the class |
In the southern colonies, main roads carry shops, offices and classes, and they are busy in the evening; a tutor living within the same group of colonies is easier to keep than one crossing the centre. The Rangbari and Swami Vivekanand Nagar and Talwandi and Mahaveer Nagar zone pages give more timing advice.
The NTA syllabus builds on NCERT content, so the size of the gap depends on the school course.
For subject-by-subject help on the school side, see our Kota maths, physics and chemistry pages.
Kota spreads from the southern colonies through the market centre to the station side in the north. A tutor who lives on your side of the city is far more likely to keep coming through a full school year.
| Locality | How tutors usually come | What to send before the demo |
|---|---|---|
| Rajeev Gandhi Nagar | By two-wheeler along JK Road or Sabji Mandi Main Road | Building, tower and floor for a flat; plot number and a JK Road landmark for a house |
| Swami Vivekanand Nagar | From Talwandi, Mahaveer Nagar or Rangbari without crossing the central roads | Sector, house number and the nearest park |
| Gumanpura | From many directions, since it sits in the middle of the city | The lane, a shop the tutor can spot, and where to park |
| Nayapura | By road, past the bus stand stretch | A side lane as the landmark, not the bus stand itself |
| Bhimganj Mandi | From Borkhera, Civil Lines or the Bundi Road side | Colony or building name; avoid busy train times near the station |
| Kunhari | Via the road through Nayapura, or from the station side | Complex, tower and flat number, and a guard's contact for the gate |
The zone pages for Central Kota and North Kota describe those areas further, every locality is listed on the Kota home tutors page, and our Kota home tuition guide walks through the city zone by zone.
| Subject | Usual format | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Physics | At home | The trouble is usually in setting up the problem; the tutor needs to watch the student choose the principle |
| Mathematics | At home, with test reviews online | Long working on paper; reviewing a finished test works well on a shared screen |
| Chemistry | Online for recall-heavy parts; at home if physical chemistry numericals lag | Short, frequent checks suit a screen |
For harder entrance problems, a specialist teaching online from another city can be a better choice than whoever lives nearest. If you go online for physics or maths, ask for a camera pointed at the notebook or a writing tablet, so the tutor sees every line. Our online tutors for Kota page and the home or online tutor comparison go further.
The jump from Class 10 is steep in mechanics, early calculus and the mole concept. Start a mistakes notebook in the first month and keep it all year. A student who lets Class 11 physics or maths slide finds Class 12 much harder, because the later chapters lean on the earlier ones.
New chapters, revision of Class 11, practice papers and the board all compete for the same weeks. Ask the tutor to write down, at the start of the year, which weeks belong to board writing and practicals so they are not squeezed out at the end.
Begin by reading the previous year's papers question by question to find where marks went, then rebuild those chapters. Daytime home sessions widen the choice of tutor. Check the eligibility rules in the current bulletin and brochure before deciding.
Subject detail is on the JEE physics tutor page and in our topic plans for maths, physics and chemistry.
If the fit is wrong, we arrange another demo, and switching tutor later is free. The demo class checklist has more questions.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee and you see it before the demo. See the pricing guide and our post on home tuition fees in Kota.
Send the class, board, subjects, your class timetable and your locality with a landmark. We come back with two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (how we check tutors). You can also browse tutor profiles. For medical entrance, see the NEET home tutor in Kota page; teachers can find requests on Kota tuition jobs.
The tutor works on what the class cannot stop for: problems from class sheets left unfinished, mistakes in the latest test, steady practice in the weakest subject, and school work such as practicals and board answers. The aim is support alongside the class, not a second course running in parallel.
Put the school and class timetables side by side and pick the gap that never moves. Early mornings and weekend mornings usually last; a short online session late in the evening suits doubts. Keep new chapters out of class test weeks so the tutor and the class do not pull against each other.
Tutors travel across the five zones: Talwandi and Mahaveer Nagar, Dadabari and Vigyan Nagar, Rangbari and Swami Vivekanand Nagar, Central Kota, and North Kota around the station. We look first for tutors on your side of the city, so share your colony or sector, a landmark and your free slots.
Not in content. For 2026–27 the Rajasthan board prescribes the NCERT physics and mathematics books for Classes 11 and 12, so chapters line up with the entrance syllabus. The tutor adds timed objective and numerical practice and keeps the board paper, including the separately passed Class 12 physics practical, in view.
Yes. The 2026 JEE Main bulletin listed 13 paper languages, and the 2026 JEE Advanced brochure offered English and Hindi. Choose the language early, practise in it from Class 11, and ask for a tutor who uses the technical terms in that language. Confirm the current options in the new documents.
Often a mix. Physics and long maths working suit a tutor at the table who can watch each step. Chemistry recall and reviews of finished tests work well online. For harder entrance problems, a specialist teaching online from another city can be a sound choice when nobody suitable lives nearby.
