Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In Kota, families often think about science in terms of Class 11 and beyond. Yet the years that decide how comfortable a child feels later are Classes 6 to 10, when one science subject quietly turns into physics, chemistry and biology, each with its own diagrams, equations and numericals. A good middle-school tutor teaches from the book your child actually uses, whether that is the Rajasthan board's NCERT text, the CBSE books or an ICSE school's chosen texts, and trains careful written answers long before Class 10. NXTutors sends two or three science tutors who suit the board and your colony; you see each fee in advance, and the opening class is a free demo.
The CBSE and ICSE advice here comes from Aaditya Kashyap. The tutor's role changes each year, and parents can track it with one simple check per stage:
| Class | Tutor's focus | Check for parents |
|---|---|---|
| 6 and 7 | Activities from NCERT's Curiosity books, or the school's own text, turned into a clear sentence and a labelled sketch | Is the scientific word used rather than an everyday one? |
| 8 | Physics, chemistry and biology pulled apart; first numericals and word equations | Does every number in a numerical carry its unit? |
| 9 | A steeper book: motion graphs, matter and the cell all arrive in one year | Are weak topics being fixed within the month? |
| 10 | Each chapter aimed at the board paper and how it is marked | Has your child written a full section under exam conditions? |
Until Class 10, one tutor for all three sciences usually works well, because the same person can tell whether a wrong physics answer comes from the arithmetic or from the idea. Our national science home tutor page explains how we match, and the Class 9 science tutor page covers the year that surprises many students.
The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (RBSE), headquartered in Ajmer, conducts the Secondary examination at Class 10. Science is one written paper of 80 marks plus 20 sessional marks, and the board prescribes the NCERT science textbook. Its 2026-27 syllabus gives the three sciences 25 marks each and keeps 5 for a single environment chapter:
| Strand | Chapters (marks) | Total | Look first at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chemistry | Chemical reactions (6); acids, bases and salts (7); metals and non-metals (5); carbon compounds (7) | 25 | Balanced equations and naming |
| Biology | Life processes (8); control and coordination (6); reproduction (7); heredity (4) | 25 | Labelled diagrams and process order |
| Physics | Light (8); the human eye (4); electricity (7); magnetic effects of current (6) | 25 | Ray diagrams and circuit numericals |
| Environment | Our environment (5) | 5 | Short definitions, revised rather than skipped |
Of the 20 sessional marks, 10 come from the school's half-yearly and periodic tests, and in science the project share counts 4 for the project and 1 for tree planting, with attendance and conduct making up the rest. The board's prospectus also says that where a printed textbook's syllabus differs from the updated one on rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in, the website version applies. A Hindi-medium student should learn to write answers with the Hindi terms in the textbook, even when a tutor explains in English. See our Rajasthan board tutors in Kota page for the full board.
CBSE's board paper carries 80 marks, and the school adds 20, in four equal parts of 5: periodic tests, multiple assessment, the portfolio and practical-based subject enrichment. The five units are uneven, which is useful to know when planning the year:
Seen by skill rather than topic, recall and understanding questions make up half the paper; applying ideas accounts for 30%, and analysing or evaluating for the last 20%. For chapter notes, read our CBSE Class 10 science notes; for how we organise a board year, see the Class 10 science tutor page.
The 2026-27 sample paper sets 39 questions. Twenty carry one mark each, a mix of multiple-choice and assertion–reason items; then come six two-mark answers, seven three-mark answers, three four-mark questions built around a case or source, and three five-mark long answers. A tutor should drill each type differently: rapid recall for the one-mark block, as many separate points as there are marks for short answers, a careful first reading of the passage or data in case-based items, and a diagram or equation backed by clear points for long answers. CBSE's own sample papers and marking schemes on cbseacademic are the practice material to trust.
In 2026-27 the school, not the board, assesses three pieces of the syllabus: evolution; the periodic arrangement of elements; and the group of ideas around electromagnetic induction, the generator and the electric motor. Each returns in Class 11, so teach them properly but spend board-revision weeks elsewhere. Board questions also lean on a list of 14 experiments in the curriculum, so the practical file doubles as revision.
The main Class 10 exam is compulsory for all. After it, CBSE offers eligible students a further, optional attempt at up to three subjects, and science can be one of them. Take the schedule only from cbse.gov.in and prepare as if the main exam is the one that counts. The board-year planner maps out the months.
CBSE's 2026-27 curriculum follows NCERT's newer Class 9 book, Exploration. The yearly exam is still 80 plus 20 internal. The matter unit is weighted at 27, the living-world unit at 25, the unit on motion, force, work and sound at 23, and the Earth-as-a-system unit at 5. Notes handed down from an older brother or sister follow the earlier book, so a tutor should plan from the new chapters.
An ICSE Class 10 student writes three science papers, not one, since CISCE examines Physics, Chemistry and Biology separately and attaches internal marks to each. Textbooks are the school's own choice inside the CISCE syllabus, so lessons should follow those books and the council's specimen papers, not an NCERT scheme. Exact definitions and complete numericals win ICSE marks. ICSE-experienced teachers can take longer to find, so ask early; an online tutor widens the choice.
For a child in Classes 6 to 10, the lesson usually sits between school and dinner, so a short, predictable trip for the tutor matters. These six colonies in south Kota show what to arrange. Browse tutors by locality on our Kota page.
Talwandi is a long-settled colony where houses line the inner streets and shops and coaching centres fill the main roads, which grow crowded as the evening goes on; an after-school slot fixed in advance keeps lessons regular. Next door, Jawahar Nagar is compact and mixes houses with newer flats above street-level shops. Say whether you live in a house or a flat, and give the building name and floor.
Indra Vihar sits between Talwandi and Mahaveer Nagar, with houses and plots and a growing number of flats above shops; the Vigyan Nagar flyover and State Highway 33 connect it to the city. Mahaveer Nagar is a large area of independent houses in several parts, so tell the tutor exactly which one, such as Mahaveer Nagar III or the extension, along with the block.
Dadabari lies between the older centre and the southern colonies, so tutors from many directions can reach it; just make clear whether you are in Dadabari or Dadabari Extension. Shrinathpuram is laid out in blocks of residential plots and houses, so the block and plot number usually bring the tutor straight to the gate.
The Talwandi and Mahaveer Nagar zone page adds local tips, and the Kota home tuition guide covers the rest of the city.
Whatever the board, careful children gain marks here and hurried ones lose them. A science tutor should return to these again and again:
During the free demo, let the tutor work on this week's school chapter and see whether these habits come up on their own. The demo class checklist has more to look for. If the first tutor does not suit, the next demo is with someone else on your shortlist, and a later switch is free.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees. Within Classes 6 to 10, ask each shortlisted tutor how they would split the year between new chapters and revision, and whether one of the weekly sessions can be online. All fees are visible before the demo; the Kota home tuition fees guide has more questions to ask.
Share the class and board, the strand your child struggles with, your colony with a landmark, and the afternoons that work. A shortlist of two or three science tutors comes back with fees, and you choose one for a free demo. When no suitable tutor can come at that time, we suggest an online or part-online plan. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (how the ID check works). For the senior years, see our physics, chemistry and biology pages for Kota; families elsewhere in Rajasthan can compare science tutors in Jaipur.
Science teachers based in Kota who would like pupils close to home will find current requests on the Kota tuition jobs page.

A Kota science shortlist needs the class, board, weak strand, colony with a landmark and free afternoons. We send two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free. If nobody can come then, we suggest part-online lessons.
For Kota students, RBSE Class 10 science is an 80-mark written paper plus 20 sessional marks, with chemistry, biology and physics at 25 marks each in 2026-27. The single environment chapter carries 5. Life processes and light are the heaviest chapters at 8 each.
In Kota, the 20 RBSE Class 10 science sessional marks include 10 from the school's half-yearly and periodic tests. The project counts 4 and tree planting 1, with attendance and conduct making up the rest. A tutor can treat each school test as a checkpoint.
Yes, one Kota teacher can usually handle all three sciences through Class 10, and can tell whether a wrong physics answer comes from arithmetic or the idea. Separate specialists matter more from Class 11, or for an ICSE student weak in one paper.
A Kota tutor should have a Hindi-medium RBSE student write science answers with the Hindi terms in the NCERT textbook, even if ideas are explained in English. Where a printed textbook's syllabus differs from the updated one on the board website, the website version applies.
For Kota CBSE students, the 2026-27 Class 10 science sample paper has 39 questions, starting with twenty one-mark items. Then come six of two marks, seven of three, three four-mark case items and three five-mark long answers. Half the paper tests recall and understanding.
A Kota tutor should teach evolution and the electric motor properly, but spend board-revision weeks elsewhere, because CBSE has the school assess them in 2026-27. The periodic arrangement of elements is school-assessed too, and all three return in Class 11.
By Class 10, a Kota student should draw lens and mirror ray diagrams with arrowheads, circuits with ammeters in series, and labelled heart and nephron diagrams without thinking. Every equation should be balanced with state symbols, and each inheritance cross written step by step.
A science tutor can fit after school in Talwandi, Indra Vihar or Shrinathpuram with a slot fixed in advance, as Talwandi's main roads crowd as evening goes on. For flats in Indra Vihar give building and floor; in Shrinathpuram, block and plot number lead straight to the gate.
ICSE science in Kota is often learned online because ICSE-experienced teachers take longer to find nearby. CISCE examines Physics, Chemistry and Biology as three papers with internal marks, and schools choose their own books, so lessons should follow those books and specimen papers.
