What home tuition costs in Kota

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

ICSE and ISC home tutors in Kota: long answers, three sciences and electives chosen with care

In a city where much of the talk is about entrance exams, an ICSE family in Kota has a different first concern: the council's own papers. CISCE expects long written answers in English across almost every subject, splits Class 10 science into three separate papers, and in the ISC years adds compulsory practicals and project work. Many ISC science students also attend a coaching class, which makes it easy for school chapters and class chapters to drift apart. This page explains how the CISCE route is built, where tutoring changes marks, how to keep ISC and entrance work in step, how tutors reach different parts of Kota, and how to judge a tutor in the free demo. The ICSE maths notes here come from Abhinandan Tiwary, the science notes from Aaditya Kashyap, and the ISC maths section from Ajay Vatsyayan.

Where ICSE sits among Kota's boards

Our Kota tutors page lists the boards families here follow: the Rajasthan board (RBSE), CBSE, CISCE's ICSE and ISC, and international programmes. We do not publish shares. The contrast with the state board is the useful part for tuition. RBSE examines at the end of Class 10 and Class 12, prescribes NCERT books for subjects such as maths and physics, and prints its syllabus in Hindi and English. ICSE uses its own prescribed texts, asks for longer answers in English, and publishes an Analysis of Pupil Performance after each exam season that shows where candidates lost marks. A tutor used to state-board papers should show they can mark to CISCE's standard before taking on an ICSE student.

How ICSE groups the Class 10 subjects

ICSE subject groups under the CISCE regulations
GroupWhat it containsExam : internal
Group I (everyone sits it)English, a second language, and History, Civics & Geography80 : 20
Group II (pick two or three)Choices include Mathematics, Science, Economics, Commercial Studies, Environmental Science, or a foreign or classical language80 : 20
Group III (pick one)One applied subject, for instance Art, Physical Education, or Computer, Economic or Commercial Applications50 : 50

Half the marks in the Group III subject come from internal work, so it rewards a student who keeps projects moving month by month. A student who leaves that work to the end of Class 10 gives away marks that were easy to earn.

Maths and the three science papers

Mathematics is one 80-mark paper with 20 internal marks from at least two assignments, each marked by the school's teacher and by an external examiner. The syllabus mixes commercial arithmetic, banking and shares included, with algebra, trigonometry, geometry and statistics, and examiners look for working at each stage. A neat final answer with missing steps loses marks.

Physics, Chemistry and Biology each have a separate 80-mark paper and 20 marks of internal practical assessment. Being strong in one does not help the other two, so ask early whether one tutor can cover all three well or whether the weaker one needs its own specialist. The council's subject-wise Analysis of Pupil Performance and its specimen papers together are the right reference for any tutor.

Revision in rounds, not one long sweep

The syllabus is wide, and chapters taught in Class 9 return in the Class 10 papers. A sound ICSE tutor plans for that from the start with three habits. A rotating calendar sends one session every few weeks back to an older chapter in each paper, so nothing goes cold. Timed writing begins in Class 9, not only in the final term, because speed in long answers builds slowly. And a dated list of projects and assignments is checked at the start of every month. In a typical session, the tutor marks the student's own attempts line by line, teaches one new topic, and ends with one complete answer written against the clock.

ISC in Classes 11 and 12: rules worth knowing early

  • Subject load: English for everyone, then between three and five electives, up to six subjects overall.
  • Choices fixed early: after a date set by the regulations during the Class 11 registration year, subjects stay as chosen; nothing can be taken in Class 12 that was not studied in Class 11.
  • Moving up to Class 12: 35% in four subjects, English among them, plus 75% attendance.
  • Practicals: compulsory in every subject that has them; Physics and Engineering Science cannot be combined.
  • Certificates: grades from 1 to 9, and a pass needs four subjects with English, as well as Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service.

ISC Mathematics combines an 80-mark theory paper with 20 marks of project work in both years. Our ISC maths tutor page and the ICSE and ISC maths guide go into the paper.

Keeping ISC and entrance work in step

An ISC science student who also attends a coaching class is following two chapter orders at once. The entrance syllabus builds on NCERT content, while ISC teaches from its own texts in its own sequence, so the same topic can arrive months apart. Ask the tutor to draw up a simple map in the first weeks of Class 11: each ISC chapter, the matching NCERT chapter, and when each is due in school and in class. The tutor then fills the gaps in both directions, adding NCERT wording and quick objective practice where ISC goes lightly, and keeping long written answers and practicals on track where the class does not look. For entrance support, see JEE home tutors in Kota and NEET home tutors in Kota.

Subjects Kota ICSE families ask about

Our ICSE and ISC board hub describes the council in full. If you are weighing ISC against CBSE for Class 11, the CBSE home tutors in Kota page explains that board, and the board and stream guide helps with the choice.

How ICSE tutors reach six Kota localities

  • Rajeev Gandhi Nagar: homes, flats and businesses sit side by side, so say what kind of building you live in; for a flat, give the tower and floor and check the gate's visitor rule.
  • Gumanpura: houses and flats sit on the streets behind the market frontage; name a shop the tutor can spot and where to park.
  • Rampura: lanes can be narrow and busy in market hours, so a morning or early-afternoon slot is easier to keep.
  • Nayapura: the bus stand is a city-wide landmark, but a side lane makes a better meeting point than the bus stand stretch itself.
  • Bhimganj Mandi: the roads around Kota Junction can confuse a first-time visitor; give the colony or building name.
  • Borkhera: tutors from the station side and Baran Road reach it easily; for an ISC elective specialist from the south, online sessions save the long trip.

ISC elective specialists are fewer than general tutors anywhere, so many families keep a local tutor for maths and science and add online sessions for one elective or for literature. The Central Kota and North Kota zone pages and the Kota home tuition guide have more local timing advice.

After Class 10: staying with CISCE or moving

A Kota student finishing ICSE usually weighs three paths. Staying with ISC keeps the CISCE answer style, with deeper electives and larger practical and project work. Moving to CBSE brings NCERT books, CBSE sample papers and a different theory-to-practical split; the maths and science carry over, but answers become shorter and closer to the textbook. Moving to the Rajasthan board's Senior Secondary course means its own faculties, syllabus files and sessional scheme, so read the board's documents on rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in and our Rajasthan board tutors in Kota page before deciding. Whichever path is chosen, use the weeks after Class 10 to bridge the gap: read the opening chapters of the new course, look at how its questions are framed, and ease into Class 11 physics and maths. Because ISC subject choices are fixed early in Class 11, decide before the term begins rather than after trying it.

Home or online for ICSE in Kota?

For Classes 6 to 10, maths and the three science papers justify a tutor at the table, because so much of the marking is about each written line. Online makes sense for an ISC elective or literature course whose specialist lives across the city or in another one, for short checks in the weeks before exams, and for evenings when market or station traffic makes travel slow. For online maths or science, the tutor must be able to see the working as it is written, through a stylus tablet, a board both can write on, or a phone camera aimed at the page. Our online tutors for Kota page sets out how that works.

Testing a tutor against the CISCE style

  1. Which specimen paper and council analysis does the tutor use, and from which year?
  2. In maths, does the tutor insist on each step, correct units and a clearly stated final answer?
  3. Can the same tutor handle a physics numerical and then a biology diagram with labels?
  4. When an answer is factually right but poorly written, does the tutor fix the English too?
  5. For ISC, how will the tutor support a project or practical record while leaving the work to your child?

ICSE Home Tutor in Kota (ICSE & ISC, Classes 6–12): common questions

What shapes the hourly fee of an ICSE or ISC home tutor in Kota?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. For ICSE and ISC in Kota, the class, number of papers, time left before the exams and the tutor's journey shape the fee. Each tutor sets their own fee, shown before the free demo.

How do I get an ICSE or ISC tutor shortlist for my child in Kota?

Why can a Rajasthan board tutor struggle with an ICSE student in Kota?

A Rajasthan board tutor can struggle with a Kota ICSE student because ICSE uses its own texts and expects longer answers in English. RBSE prescribes NCERT books for subjects such as maths and physics. ICSE also splits Class 10 science into three papers, so ask the tutor to mark to CISCE's standard.

How do ICSE Class 10 maths and the three science papers work for Kota students?

For Kota students, ICSE maths is one 80-mark paper plus 20 internal marks from at least two assignments, marked by the teacher and an external examiner. Physics, Chemistry and Biology each have their own 80-mark paper plus 20 practical marks, so strength in one does not cover the others.

Why does the ICSE Group III subject need steady work from a Kota student?

The ICSE Group III subject needs steady work from a Kota student because half its marks, 50 of 100, come from internal work. Options include Art, Physical Education, and Computer, Economic or Commercial Applications. Leaving projects to the end of Class 10 gives away easy marks.

How can a Kota tutor keep ISC chapters and JEE or NEET coaching in step?

A Kota tutor keeps ISC and coaching in step by mapping each ISC chapter to its matching NCERT chapter, with school and class due dates. The tutor then adds NCERT wording and objective practice where ISC is light, and long answers and practicals where coaching does not look.

Which ISC subject rules should a Kota Class 11 family learn before registration?

A Kota Class 11 family should learn that ISC students take English plus three to five electives, up to six subjects. After a date in the registration year choices are fixed, and nothing new starts in Class 12. Moving up needs 35% in four subjects with English, and 75% attendance.

Why do ICSE Class 9 chapters need revisiting in rounds for a Kota Class 10 student?

ICSE Class 9 chapters need revisiting in rounds for a Kota student because they return in the Class 10 council papers. A rotating calendar sends sessions back to older chapters, and timed writing starts in Class 9. A dated list of projects and assignments is checked every month.

Can ICSE tutors come to Rajeev Gandhi Nagar, Gumanpura or Nayapura in Kota?

ICSE tutors can come to Rajeev Gandhi Nagar, Gumanpura or Nayapura in Kota with clear directions. In Rajeev Gandhi Nagar, give the tower, floor and gate rule for flats. Name a visible shop and parking spot in Gumanpura, and meet in a side lane rather than by the Nayapura bus stand.

When does a tutor at the table beat a screen for ICSE subjects in Kota?

A tutor at the table beats a screen for Kota ICSE students in Classes 6 to 10 in maths and the three sciences, since marking judges each written line. Online suits an ISC elective or literature specialist living elsewhere, and short checks before exams, if the tutor can see working live.
