What home tuition costs in Kota

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Physics home tutor in Kota: a second pair of eyes on the working, beside school and coaching

In Kota, a Class 11 or 12 student who takes physics seriously often already has a packed week: school, a coaching batch for engineering or medical entrance, tests at the weekend and a pile of practice sheets. What that week seldom includes is time with one adult who reads the student's own attempt, finds the line where it went wrong and makes sure the same mistake does not come back. That is where a home physics tutor earns a place. NXTutors suggests two or three physics tutors who know your child's board and target exam and can reach your colony at a workable hour. You see each fee first, and the opening lesson is a free demo.

Which physics papers is your child writing, and how does each one score?

The chapters overlap, but the marking does not. Settle which paper comes first this term, because that decides what the tutor sets for practice.

Physics in the papers Kota's Class 11 and 12 students prepare for: structure, marking and what to practise each week
PaperPhysics in itMarkingWeekly practice
RBSE Class 12 physicsTheory of 56 plus 14 sessional (70), and a practical of 30Theory and practical must each be passedUnit-weighted written answers and the practical file
CBSE Class 12 physics (042)Theory of 70 with 33 compulsory questions; practical of 30Written answers; no calculatorDerivations, diagrams and case-based questions
JEE Main, 2026 pattern25 questions, 20 with options and 5 with a numerical answer+4 for a right answer, −1 for a wrong oneMulti-step problems, then every error reviewed
NEET (UG), 2026 pattern45 of the 180 questions, 180 of the 720 marks, on paper+4 right, −1 wrongNCERT-level accuracy and fewer guesses

Entrance syllabi come from the conducting body, not the school board, and can keep topics a board has trimmed, so check the current bulletin on nta.ac.in before dropping anything. Our JEE physics topic-wise plan and the note on NEET physics chapters worth extra time help with priorities, and the JEE and NEET home tutor pages for Kota explain how we match for each.

How is RBSE Class 12 physics marked?

In the Rajasthan board's Science faculty, physics and chemistry are compulsory and a student adds biology, mathematics or another listed subject. The physics theory paper is worth 56 marks, the school adds 14 sessional marks to make 70, and a separate practical exam carries 30. A student must pass the theory and the practical separately, so a good theory score does not rescue a weak practical. The 2026-27 syllabus spreads the 56 theory marks like this:

RBSE Class 12 physics theory, 2026-27: unit marks out of 56, with a tutoring note
UnitMarksTutoring note
Optics11Ray diagrams and sign conventions until both are automatic
Electromagnetic induction and alternating current9Phasor sketches alongside the algebra
Magnetic effects of current and magnetism8Field directions shown on every figure
Electrostatics7Field and potential questions set out with units on each line
Atoms and nuclei; semiconductor electronics6 eachShort numericals and labelled circuit sketches
Dual nature of radiation and matter4Photoelectric graphs read and drawn
Current electricity3Few marks here, but the ideas carry into every circuit question
Electromagnetic waves2The spectrum and uses, learned in order

The board publishes its syllabus in Hindi and English, and the course follows NCERT books. A Hindi-medium student should practise writing answers with the textbook's Hindi terms. Our Rajasthan board tutors in Kota page covers the board as a whole.

Where do the 70 theory marks sit in CBSE Class 12 physics?

CBSE's 2026-27 sample paper keeps the design of the previous session and groups the fourteen NCERT chapters into four blocks. Electricity and magnetism, from electrostatics to alternating current, carry 33 marks between them. Optics with electromagnetic waves carries 18; modern physics (dual nature, atoms and nuclei) 12; and semiconductor electronics 7, now without transistors or logic gates, so older notes that include them are out of date.

The paper's 33 questions run through five sections: sixteen one-mark items in A (twelve multiple-choice and four assertion–reason), five two-mark questions in B, seven three-mark questions in C, two four-mark case studies in D and three five-mark long answers in E. About 38% of the marks reward recall; constants are given, and calculators are not allowed. Class 12 has one main board exam. Our Class 12 physics strategies collect the derivations that recur, and the Class 12 physics tutor page shows a board-year plan.

Can the 30-mark practical be prepared at home?

Much of it, yes, and it is the part of physics a coaching batch rarely touches. In CBSE, two experiments carry 14 marks (7 each), the record 5, an activity 3, the investigatory project 3 and the viva 5. The record must hold at least eight experiments, four from each section, at least six activities, three from each, and the project report. RBSE's practical is also worth 30 and has its own pass mark.

The apparatus stays at school, but a tutor can check each record entry, go through precautions and sources of error, and hold a mock viva: why are readings repeated, and what does a graph's slope mean?

What can a home tutor add when coaching already covers the chapters?

A good deal, as long as the tutor does not simply repeat the lecture. Three jobs tend to be missing from a busy coaching week, and they suit a one-to-one session:

  • Working through the backlog. A batch moves at the pace of the room. Problems the student could not finish, or copied without following, are solved again at the student's own pace.
  • Holding on to the board paper. Entrance practice is objective; board answers need full derivations, labelled diagrams and practical preparation. One home session a week can keep those alive.
  • Reading tests properly. A total says little by itself. Every lost mark can be sorted into a concept gap, a careless slip or a question that should have been left, and the next week planned from that list.

We compare coaching and a home tutor for JEE in one article and do the same for NEET in another. Fix the home slot so it never clashes with the batch timetable.

What solving routine should a physics tutor insist on?

A quick way to judge progress is to watch how a student lays out a solution. A tutor should ask for the same four steps every time, until they happen without thought:

  1. Picture first. A sketch with directions, axes or rays marked before any formula appears.
  2. Principle in words. One line naming the law being used, such as conservation of energy or Kirchhoff's rule.
  3. Substitution with units. Numbers entered with their units on each line, so a dimension slip shows up at once.
  4. Sense check. A quick look at the sign and size of the answer before moving on.

Keep one shared notebook for questions that went wrong: the question, the first attempt left uncorrected, a one-line note of the mistake, and a clean re-solve a few days later. Bring it, or the two recent coaching tests, to the free demo; a capable tutor will leaf through and name the weak step before teaching anything new.

Can a physics tutor reach your colony after coaching?

Senior students in Kota often get home in the evening, which pushes physics lessons later. Whether that slot holds depends on the tutor's route. Find tutors by locality on our Kota page.

Evening physics lessons in six Kota colonies: the setting, the way in, and one tip
ColonySettingWay inTip
TalwandiA long-settled colony; houses inside, many coaching centres on the main roadsDoorstep visits; New Kota (Dakaniya Talav) is the nearby stationMain roads fill in the evening, so a tutor from the same side helps
Jawahar NagarCompact; houses and newer flats with shops at street levelFor a flat, the building name and floor at the gateLanes near Talwandi's main roads crowd up; agree the slot in advance
Indra ViharHouses and plots, with more flats above ground-floor shopsVia the Vigyan Nagar flyover or State Highway 33Early evening or weekends run more smoothly than the peak
KeshavpuraResidential streets behind a main road of shops and showroomsBy two-wheeler or auto to the doorCentral to the southern colonies, so tutors from nearby fit it in easily

If coaching overruns, move that evening online with the same tutor. The Talwandi and Mahaveer Nagar zone page has more timing advice.

ISC, IB or IGCSE physics in Kota, and when to start?

  • ISC. CISCE pairs the theory paper with practical work and a project, and expects fuller reasoning than a one-line answer. Make sure the tutor knows your exam year's syllabus.
  • IB Diploma. The current course is organised around five lettered themes. Written papers make up 80% of the grade; the other 20% is an investigation the student designs and writes alone. See our IB physics SL and HL guide.
  • Cambridge IGCSE. Entered at Core or Extended. A student moving to an Indian board in Class 11 usually needs extra time on vectors and graphs.

Class 11 is usually the sensible year to begin, because mechanics leans on vectors and graphs that return all through Class 12. Read the Class 11 physics tutor page and our stream choice guide.

What does a physics home tutor in Kota charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees. When comparing, ask which paper each tutor has taught recently (RBSE, CBSE, JEE Main, JEE Advanced or NEET), how late in the evening they can come, and whether some sessions can move online. Every fee is visible before the demo; the Kota home tuition fees guide has more.

Asking for a physics shortlist in Kota

Tell us the class, board and main aim (school paper, JEE or NEET), the days coaching runs, your colony with a landmark, and the evenings that are still free. Two or three physics tutors come back with their fees, and you pick one to meet at the free demo. A poor fit leads to a second demo, and changing tutor later is free. If nobody suitable can come at that hour, we propose an online or part-online plan. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (how the ID check works). NXTutors has its office in Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India; see the national physics home tutor page, physics tutors in Jaipur, and our maths and chemistry pages for Kota.

Physics Home Tutor in Kota: common questions

How much does a physics home tutor in Kota charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own rates, and you compare every shortlisted fee before the demo.

How is RBSE Class 12 physics marked?

The theory paper carries 56 marks and the school adds 14 sessional marks, making 70; a separate practical exam carries 30. Theory and practical must each be passed. In the 2026-27 syllabus, optics carries 11 of the 56 theory marks and electromagnetic induction with alternating current carries 9.

Is a home physics tutor useful if my child already attends coaching in Kota?

Often, if the tutor does a different job from the batch. A home tutor can clear problems left unsolved from coaching sheets, keep board answers and the practical on track, and go through each test to sort lost marks into concept gaps, slips and questions that should have been skipped.

How are CBSE Class 12 physics theory marks grouped?

Electricity and magnetism, from electrostatics to alternating current, carry 33 of the 70 theory marks. Optics with electromagnetic waves carries 18, modern physics 12 and semiconductor electronics 7. Transistors and logic gates are no longer in the syllabus, so notes that still teach them are out of date.

Can a tutor prepare my child for the physics practical at home?

Much of it. The experiments happen in the school lab, but a tutor can check every record entry for aim, diagram and readings, revise precautions and sources of error, and run a mock viva. In both CBSE and RBSE the practical carries 30 marks, so it deserves regular attention.

Can a physics tutor come to a home in Talwandi or Vigyan Nagar?

We match across Kota, including Talwandi, Jawahar Nagar, Indra Vihar, Keshavpura, Vigyan Nagar and Shrinathpuram. Evening slots after coaching work better with a tutor from a nearby colony. Where nobody suitable can come at your hour, we suggest online lessons with the same tutor on some days.

When should a student start physics tuition?

Class 11 is usually the sensible start. Mechanics depends on vectors and graphs that come back throughout Class 12, and gaps left in Class 11 cost marks in both the board paper and entrance tests a year later. Fixing them early is usually simpler than repairing them in the board year.
