Science tutor jobs in Nagpur

In the middle-school years, a Nagpur parent asking for a science tutor usually means one person who can carry physics, chemistry and biology together until the Class 10 board. That is the job described here: Classes 6 to 10, at the family's home or online, for students on the Maharashtra State Board, CBSE or ICSE. The split into separate specialists comes later, in Class 11; before that, families want a single teacher who keeps all three strands moving and connects them to the school's own tests.

Open tuition requests in Nagpur for science

No open science requests in Nagpur right now. New family requests appear here as they come in; join now so they can reach you.

If you studied science or teach it in a school, tutoring science on NXTutors costs nothing to start. You decide which classes and boards you take, the medium you teach in, which of Nagpur's five zones you will travel to and what you charge. The list of real open requests appears on this page; we do not claim a number of families or promise earnings.

Who asks for science tutors in Nagpur

Class 9 is where most science requests begin. The city guide notes that Maths and Science step up sharply in Class 9 and the board year builds straight on it, so parents who were comfortable in Class 8 suddenly find their child lost in motion graphs, atomic structure or cell organisation. A tutor who can find those gaps early, before the Class 10 syllabus piles on, is what these families are looking for.

Board decides the shape of the work. CBSE science is built on the NCERT textbooks, with sample papers and marking schemes on cbseacademic.nic.in that ask students to apply ideas in case-based and assertion–reason questions. ICSE treats physics, chemistry and biology as separate papers in Class 10 and rewards complete written answers. Maharashtra SSC students work from the state textbooks in the medium their school uses, and the board publishes its own question papers for practice. Families tell us the board and, for state-board students, the medium, and the match is made on both.

Classes 6 to 8 form a smaller, steadier stream. These parents want curiosity kept alive and written answers made tidy: labelled diagrams, a definition learnt properly, a simple experiment explained in the student's own words. Many of these requests ask for one or two lessons a week close to home, which suits a tutor who lives in the same zone and can come straight after school.

Where in Nagpur the work is

The metro shapes where a science tutor can promise a weekly slot. In Central West Nagpur, the Aqua Line's Shankar Nagar Square and LAD Square stations and the Orange Line's Congress Nagar stop put Dharampeth, Bajaj Nagar, Laxmi Nagar and Dhantoli within a short walk or auto ride, though parking near the market lanes and clinics is scarce in the evening. Along Wardha Road, Ujjwal Nagar station serves Manish Nagar, Besa and Beltarodi, and apartment gates there keep a visitor register, so ask the family to note your name and days.

Plotted layouts on Hingna Road and Ring Road, in Pratap Nagar, Trimurti Nagar and Jaitala, usually let a tutor park at the door; ask for the lane and plot number, because many layouts look alike. North Nagpur and East and South-East Nagpur are mostly reached by road, and Bhandara Road carries heavy goods traffic at peak hours. A science tutor in Nandanvan or Manewada who keeps to nearby homes, with online lessons for further students, avoids most of that.

What families in Nagpur expect

  • Confidence across all three strands up to Class 10, including numericals in physics and balanced equations in chemistry.
  • Knowledge of how your student's board sets the paper: NCERT and CBSE sample papers, ICSE's separate science papers, or the state textbooks and SSC question papers.
  • Neat, labelled diagrams and the habit of making students draw them, not copy them.
  • Teaching in the medium the family uses for state-board science, or a clear note of the medium you teach in.
  • A short weekly check that ties tutoring to the school's unit tests and first-term exams.
  • Patience with Class 9 students meeting abstract ideas, such as atoms and cells, for the first time.
  • A reliable route and time: a station you use or a two-wheeler, and a slot outside the evening peak on the spoke roads.

How to get picked

On your profile, say which classes you teach science to and which strand you are strongest in; parents trust a tutor who admits that biology is their favourite but can still explain an electric circuit. Mention the boards and the medium, the zones you cover, and a few after-school hours. If you can explain one experiment without a lab, using things in a kitchen, say so: Nagpur parents of younger children often ask how a tutor makes science practical at home.

In the free demo, pick the chapter the student is on now and ask them to explain one idea back to you before you teach anything. Correct a diagram together, solve one numerical, and end with a two-line note to the parent about what you will cover over the next four weeks. A parent sees your fee before booking, can switch tutors at no cost later, and stays with the tutor whose child starts writing better answers in school tests. Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

Paid plans are optional

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.

How leads and credits work

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

Do Nagpur families want one science tutor or three specialists?

Up to Class 10, most ask for one tutor who teaches physics, chemistry and biology together. From Class 11, HSC, CBSE and ISC students usually want a specialist for each subject, so separate physics, chemistry and biology pages exist for those jobs.

Which boards ask for science tuition in Nagpur?

The Maharashtra State Board's SSC, CBSE and ICSE make up most requests. State-board families also name a medium, so list the language you teach science in.

Can I teach science online to students in other cities?

Yes. If you tick online teaching, requests are matched by subject, board and class, not by where the student lives. Many Nagpur tutors keep home lessons nearby and teach online for the rest.

Which Nagpur zones are easiest for a tutor without a vehicle?

Central West Nagpur, Wardha Road and the Hingna Road side, using the Orange and Aqua Lines plus an auto. Manewada, Hudkeshwar and most of North Nagpur need a two-wheeler.

When do Class 9 and 10 science requests pick up?

Often at the start of the school year, April for CBSE and June when state-board schools usually reopen, and again in winter for paper practice before the board exams. Confirm any exam date from the board's official notice.

Is there any fee to apply for a science tuition?

No. Joining is free, you start on the Free plan with monthly lead credits, and paid plans are optional. Your own lesson fee is shown to families before the demo.
