Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Kirti Nagar is in our Janakpuri, Rajouri Garden and Punjabi Bagh zone of Delhi. Two features set it apart for tuition: a metro interchange where the Blue and Green Lines meet, and a furniture trade that fills some roads with showroom traffic during business hours.

Kirti Nagar is two places folded together: a residential colony of houses and floors, and a furniture trade that grew around it. Wikipedia describes the colony as mostly private houses and kothis, and pairs it with Mansarovar Garden as twin localities. Mygate's guide adds that alongside the independent houses and builder floors there are apartments in gated societies, and that DLF Capital Greens sits just across in Moti Nagar.
Mygate describes a large furniture market here and names the M Block Kirti Nagar Market as one of its main stretches; Square Yards' listings describe the area as a major furniture and home décor hub. The Kirti Nagar Industrial Area, Mygate notes, is known for carpentry and modular furniture. For a tutor, this means some roads carry showroom visitors, delivery vehicles and loading during business hours, while residential lanes a short walk away stay quiet.
An urban-planning studio at CEPT University studied Kirti Nagar as a planned "Nagar" along the Ring Road that still supports community living, linked to the city by roads and the metro. Wikipedia places the colony and Mansarovar Garden between the Ring Road on one side and Patel Road on the other.
Addresses here are written by block letter and house number, and property listings mention blocks such as A, E, G and M. Some blocks are mainly homes; others sit next to showrooms. Tell the tutor your block, house number and floor, and which side of the market it faces, so the first visit does not start with a search.
Property listings and resident notes on Kirti Nagar raise a few points again and again. Each has a simple meaning for home tuition.
Beyond these, parents ask what they would ask anywhere: will the tutor keep a steady weekly slot, explain things in a way the child follows, and report progress honestly. Use the free demo to judge that.
Kirti Nagar station is the reason many tutors find this colony easy. It is an interchange between the Blue Line and the Green Line. The Green Line platform is the terminus of a short branch to Ashok Park Main that opened on 27 August 2011, and Wikipedia notes it is the only at-grade station on the Green Line. The station also has a feeder bus service, one of the few metro stations that does, and DTC routes stop at the nearby Moti Nagar Industrial Area bus stop.
On the Blue Line, the neighbouring stops are Moti Nagar to the west and Shadipur to the east, so a tutor living anywhere from Rajouri Garden and Janakpuri to Patel Nagar and Karol Bagh can ride straight in. On the Green Line branch, trains run towards Ashok Park Main and on to the Punjabi Bagh and Paschim Vihar side. Wikipedia lists Kirti Nagar, Moti Nagar, Shadipur, Naraina and Karampura as the areas the station serves.
The Ring Road runs along one side, Patel Road along another, and Mygate also mentions Shivaji Marg and the Karampura flyover close by. A tutor driving in from the Ring Road side will meet showroom traffic near the market roads during business hours. A metro-based tutor who walks from the interchange often arrives more predictably. We do not quote minutes; ask each tutor their route.
Wikipedia also records a planned Metrolite line from Kirti Nagar to Dwarka via Mayapuri and Hari Nagar. It is not built, so do not count on it when choosing a tutor.
Most Kirti Nagar homes are houses and builder floors, so a tutor usually walks up to a door rather than through a society gate. Gated complexes nearby record visitors at the gate. Either way, send the tutor four things before the demo: block letter, house number, floor and the bell to ring. If your building shares a staircase with other floors, say which bell is yours.
Homes facing market roads can be noisy during the day. Choose a room at the back for the lesson if you can, and keep the windows on the road side shut while the class runs.
For a young child, keep an adult in the house for the whole lesson and leave the door of the room open. If you want a woman tutor, mention it with the request; we look for a woman tutor in Delhi who travels to Kirti Nagar or teaches online. Tutors who join NXTutors confirm a phone or email by one-time code and upload a government photo ID for our team to review. This shows who the tutor is; it is not a police or background check. Read how tutors are checked and use the demo to form your own view.
Most requests from Kirti Nagar and Mansarovar Garden are for CBSE, with some ICSE and ISC students and a few on IB or IGCSE. A CBSE tutor plans from NCERT books and the sample papers on cbseacademic.nic.in; an ICSE or ISC tutor follows CISCE's syllabus and set texts. Our CBSE tutors at home in Delhi page has more on what to ask.
In a house with a spare room, a tutor can keep a board's past papers and a progress file in one place each week, which helps in Classes 9 to 12. For a full comparison of the boards, see our guide to CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE.
Small children respond to routine. Three or four short sessions a week, at the same time and table, work better than one long session. If your home faces a market road, a morning or early-afternoon slot avoids the noise of the busiest hours. Ask the tutor to read the school diary each visit so lessons follow what the class teacher set.
Habits formed now carry straight into Classes 9 and 10. One tutor covering Maths and Science is common, with English added later if needed. The school notebook and recent test paper are better guides to what to teach than the textbook alone.
Two or three lessons a week of around 90 minutes give time to teach and then practise a timed question. A home maths tutor in Delhi also helps students lay out their working clearly, which matters in board marking.
At this level, each subject usually needs its own tutor. Because the interchange gives direct access from two lines, families here can look for a subject specialist across a wide part of West and Central Delhi. A Chemistry home tutor in Delhi for Class 11 or 12 is a common request, along with Physics, Maths, Biology, Accountancy and Economics.
JEE and NEET preparation is usually kept separate from board tuition. A home tutor for board subjects on weekdays and entrance practice online or at a centre is a common pattern.
Board exams for most students here fall early in the year. CBSE posts date sheets on cbse.gov.in; CISCE puts ICSE and ISC timetables on cisce.org; IB Diploma exams sit in May and November; Cambridge IGCSE runs March, June and November series. Rely only on those sites for dates.
Wikipedia lists a Sunday market among the places near Kirti Nagar station, so Sunday revision sessions near the station area may meet crowds. In the winter revision weeks, decide with the tutor in good time which lessons turn to past papers and which can move online.
A home tutor spares your child the trip and lets you see the lesson. In Kirti Nagar, the interchange means tutors from two metro lines can reach you without a change, which widens the choice.
Online lessons avoid market traffic altogether. They suit crowded market days, rainy evenings and subjects where the right specialist is far away. For senior IB, IGCSE and entrance subjects, an online tuition option in Delhi is often the sensible route.
A coaching centre puts the travel on the student. From Kirti Nagar that is easier than from most colonies, but a late class still means a ride home and a walk from the station. Many families keep home tuition for school subjects and add a centre for one specific need.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees, and NXTutors shows each one before the demo.
What changes the fee most is the class, board, subject and number of weekly hours. Travel can matter: a tutor who walks from the interchange has an easy trip, while one who drives through showroom traffic may prefer fewer, longer lessons.
Before you start, agree how missed lessons, holiday weeks and extra exam sessions are counted, and work out the monthly total.
The Delhi Public Library's zonal library for the West Zone is in East Patel Nagar, with a self-study room open from 10 am to 6 pm, Monday to Saturday, according to the library's site. It is a few Blue Line stops east of Kirti Nagar, past Shadipur. We found no library unit inside Kirti Nagar itself.
West Patel Nagar belongs to the Karol Bagh, Patel Nagar and Rajinder Nagar zone; the rest are in our West Delhi zone page.
