Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Paschim Vihar is part of our Janakpuri, Rajouri Garden and Punjabi Bagh zone in Delhi. The things that shape tuition most here are the Outer Ring Road running through the middle, two Green Line stations, and the large number of gated society complexes.

Paschim Vihar is not one grid of houses but a patchwork of complexes. Property Pistol's locality overview describes how the Outer Ring Road splits it in two. The DDA developed most of the east side, where the A, B and C blocks were built. The west side was developed mostly privately: the DDA gave large plots to groups who built their own internal roads and services and allotted homes to their members. Settlement began in the late 1970s and early 1980s, which is why the area is often described as old and green.
Mygate's guide calls group housing societies the dominant housing type, alongside DDA-developed flats and builder floors. Among the complexes it lists are DDA LIG Flats, DDA Ekta Apartments in four towers, Ankur Apartment, Ambica Vihar and CGHS Priyadarshani. Block names that appear on civic and property listings include A-1, A-2, A-4 and the BG blocks, with Cottage Enclave near Block A.
Two families can both say "Paschim Vihar" and live a long way apart, on opposite sides of the Outer Ring Road. A tutor needs the block, the society name if there is one, and the tower or flat number. In a large society, the gate a tutor should use may not be the one closest to the main road.
Jwala Heri Market, about a kilometre from Paschim Vihar West station according to Wikipedia, grew from a village into a shopping area and draws crowds from well beyond the colony. Paschim Vihar District Park has a small lake and running tracks, and the Paschim Vihar Sports Complex has run since 1990. For a student, those are the places that take up evenings: sport practice, market errands and park time all compete with a lesson slot, so fix the tuition time first and plan the rest around it.
Locality reviews of Paschim Vihar on NoBroker return to a short list of practical points. None of them stops home tuition in Paschim Vihar, but each changes how you plan it.
Plans for a new Outer Ring Road flyover between Keshopur and Haiderpur were announced in January 2026, with a feasibility study commissioned. No dates are fixed, so plan around today's roads.
Two Green Line stations carry the colony's name. Paschim Vihar East and Paschim Vihar West are elevated stops that opened in April 2010, and Wikipedia gives the West station's address as Block A-1. NoBroker places Block A about 800 metres from both Paschim Vihar West and Peeragarhi stations.
Going east, the Green Line runs through Madipur, Shivaji Park and Punjabi Bagh West, where a tutor can change to the Pink Line, and on to Punjabi Bagh East and Ashok Park Main. Going west, it continues to Peeragarhi and Udyog Nagar. Wikipedia lists Peeragarhi as a future interchange with the Magenta Line under Phase IV, but until that opens, the Pink Line change at Punjabi Bagh West and the Blue Line change at Kirti Nagar are the main ways in from other parts of the city.
The Outer Ring Road and Rohtak Road are the two main roads, and guides list bus depots at Nangloi, Sultanpuri, Mangolpuri and Keshopur nearby. A tutor from the northern side tends to use the Outer Ring Road, while one from Punjabi Bagh or further east usually comes along Rohtak Road. We do not give travel minutes, because Peeragarhi Chowk changes them so much. Ask each tutor their route and whether they need to cross the Outer Ring Road.
Because so much of Paschim Vihar is group housing, the gate is the first thing to plan. Most societies record visitors, and some use an app. Before the free demo, add the tutor as an expected visitor, or give the guard the tutor's name and time, and send the tutor the society name, the gate to use, the tower or pocket and the flat number.
After the demo, ask your society office how to set up regular entry for a weekly visitor, so each lesson does not start with a call from the gate. In DDA flat blocks without a society office, tell the block guard once and leave your number with them. Builder floors in the plotted parts are usually a doorbell visit; name the floor and the bell.
For a younger child, keep an adult at home through the lesson and use a room with the door open. If you prefer a woman tutor, say so in the request; we look for a female tutor for home lessons in Delhi who travels to Paschim Vihar or teaches online. Tutors who join NXTutors confirm their phone or email with a one-time code and upload a government photo ID, which our team reviews. That confirms identity, not background, so treat the demo as your own check. See what the ID check covers.
Most Paschim Vihar requests are for CBSE, with some ICSE and ISC students and occasional IB or IGCSE learners. In a large society, children in the same tower may study under different boards, so do not assume a tutor who teaches a neighbour's child knows yours.
A CBSE tutor plans from NCERT books and the board's sample papers on cbseacademic.nic.in. ICSE and ISC tutors follow CISCE's syllabus and its set texts. For an IB or IGCSE student, ask specifically about that programme; if no one nearby fits, an online specialist is the usual answer. Our ICSE tutors in Delhi page lists what to ask.
The full comparison of the boards is in our board guide.
Young children manage well with short sessions on most weekdays. In a society flat, the living room is often busiest in the evening, so a bedroom desk or a corner of the dining table may work better. Keep the school diary in the same place each day so the tutor can see the homework at a glance. Many society parks fill up after school; a lesson just before play time tends to get full attention.
Middle school is when Maths and Science gaps start to widen. One tutor for both is common at this stage, with English or a language added if the report card asks for it. A good habit is a short weekly check of the school notebook and last test, so lessons follow what the class is actually doing. Our Science home tutors in Delhi page covers this stage.
Board preparation really starts in Class 9. Lessons of about 90 minutes, two or three times a week, leave room to teach a topic and then try a timed question. Families often begin with a Class 10 home tutor in Delhi for Maths and Science, and add English closer to the exams.
At senior level, one subject per tutor is usual. Science students pick from Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology; Commerce students from Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies. Because the Green Line links to two other lines within a few stops, you can look further afield for a specialist than in a colony without a station.
JEE and NEET work is usually kept apart from board lessons. A common pattern is a home tutor for board subjects on weekdays and entrance practice online or at a centre at weekends.
Board exams for most students here come in the first months of the year. CBSE puts date sheets on cbse.gov.in, CISCE publishes ICSE and ISC timetables on cisce.org, the IB holds Diploma exams in May and November sessions, and Cambridge runs IGCSE in March, June and November series. Use only those sites for dates.
Locally, plan the monsoon months for online back-up lessons, since some roads take water. In the winter revision weeks, agree early which sessions move to past papers and whether any extra classes are needed.
A home tutor saves your child the journey and lets you watch progress closely. In a society, the gate system adds a step but also a record of who comes and goes, which many parents find reassuring.
Online lessons avoid the Outer Ring Road and Peeragarhi Chowk entirely. They work well on rainy evenings, during exam weeks when time matters, and for specialist subjects. An online tutor for Delhi students is often the practical choice for senior IB, IGCSE or entrance subjects.
A coaching centre means the child travels. With two Green Line stations, that is manageable from most blocks, but a late class still means a walk home from the station after dark. Many families keep a home tutor for school subjects and add a centre only for one specific need.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor sets their own rate, and NXTutors shows it before you book the demo.
The biggest factors are class, board, subject and the number of hours each week. Travel matters as well: a tutor who walks in from a nearby block has an easy trip, while one crossing the Outer Ring Road at the evening peak may prefer longer lessons on fewer days.
Before you agree, ask how the tutor handles cancelled lessons, holiday weeks and extra pre-exam sessions, and work out the monthly total yourself.
The Delhi Public Library's West Zone list does not show a branch in Paschim Vihar; its nearest listed sub-branch is at the C Block community centre in Janakpuri. Paschim Vihar District Park, with its walking and running tracks, suits a short break between study sessions rather than study itself. A fixed, quiet corner at home remains the main option.
Pitampura sits in a separate northern zone; the others are covered by our zone guide for Janakpuri, Rajouri Garden and Punjabi Bagh.

In Delhi, the Directorate of Education primarily looks after middle to senior secondary schooling, but for tuition what matters is your child's own board, so tell us whether that is CBSE or CISCE. Paschim Vihar is one of twelve pages in the Janakpuri, Rajouri Garden & Punjabi Bagh zone, with Punjabi Bagh, Vikaspuri and Janakpuri among the others.
Tutors who live in Paschim Vihar or list it among the places they travel to are shown before anyone else. Behind them are teachers from the wider zone, then from anywhere in the city, then home tutors who live in Ghaziabad or elsewhere in the NCR, with online tutors closing the list. Every card explains why that tutor is on the page. For Class 11 and 12 science, our chemistry home tutors page is a useful second place to look.
