Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Yes. A home tutor can come to your house in Punjabi Bagh East or Punjabi Bagh West, or teach your child online. Send NXTutors the class, board, subject and which side of the Ring Road you live on, and we suggest two or three matched tutors who travel to Punjabi Bagh or teach online. Each tutor's fee is on the profile before you book, the first class is a free demo, and changing tutor later costs nothing.
Punjabi Bagh belongs to our Janakpuri, Rajouri Garden and Punjabi Bagh zone in Delhi. What makes tuition here different is geography: a colony split in two by the Ring Road, ringed by four metro stops, with mostly large independent houses rather than tower blocks.

| Two halves | Punjabi Bagh East and Punjabi Bagh West, on either side of the Ring Road |

Punjabi Bagh is a colony of houses more than flats. Wikipedia describes it as mostly private houses on the bungalow pattern, with kothis and some apartments, on plots that were allotted large from the start. Mygate's locality guide adds a few gated communities, including DDA Punjabi Bagh Enclave, and a handful of older low-rise apartment buildings.
The colony began as a settlement on land acquired from Madipur village and only took the name Punjabi Bagh in 1960. Wikipedia notes that its growth picked up from the 1990s, and the main roads now carry banks, restaurants, health clubs and showrooms beside the houses. For a tutor, that mix means a home may sit on a quiet residential road just a few minutes' walk from a busy commercial strip.
The Ring Road runs between Punjabi Bagh East and Punjabi Bagh West, and Rohtak Road crosses it at Punjabi Bagh Chowk. On a map they look like one colony. In the evening they behave like two, because crossing the chowk by road takes time. When you request a tutor, always say which half you live in.
Wikipedia's note on Shivaji Park station names a Central Market area, Punjabi Bagh West and Punjabi Bagh Extension as the places served by that stop. Mention the pocket name and your road number, since numbered roads are how most addresses here are written.
A large house usually has a spare room, a dining table or a study that can be kept quiet for an hour, so the lesson space is rarely the problem. Distance inside the house can be: a tutor at the front gate may not be heard in a back room. Agree on a doorbell, an intercom or a phone call for arrival, and decide which room the class will use before the first visit.
Public coverage of Punjabi Bagh keeps returning to a few practical themes. Here is what each one means when you plan home tuition.
Beyond these, the questions are the ones any parent asks: will the tutor keep the same weekly slot, explain things in a way the child understands, and tell you honestly how things are going. The free demo is where you judge that.
Metro is the strong point here. Wikipedia counts four stations around Punjabi Bagh Chowk. Punjabi Bagh East, Shivaji Park and Madipur are elevated Green Line stations that opened in April 2010. Punjabi Bagh West is the newer one: its Pink Line station opened in March 2018, and a Green Line halt platform beside it opened on 29 March 2022, joined to the Pink Line by a foot overbridge with large lifts.
That interchange is what changes tuition here. A tutor living along the Pink Line, from Netaji Subhash Place and Shakurpur on one side to ESI Basaidarapur, Rajouri Garden, Mayapuri and Naraina Vihar on the other, can now reach Punjabi Bagh West without a road crossing. Tutors on the Green Line come in from Paschim Vihar and Peeragarhi to the west, or from Ashok Park Main and Inderlok to the east.
The Ring Road and Rohtak Road meet at Punjabi Bagh Chowk, and East Avenue Road is one of the internal roads a tutor may use. A tutor who drives from Rajouri Garden comes up the Ring Road; one from Paschim Vihar comes in along Rohtak Road. We do not quote travel minutes, because the chowk changes them so much by the hour. Ask each tutor which way they will come and how they will cross, if they need to.
Most Punjabi Bagh homes are standalone houses, so arrival is simpler than in a high-rise society. There is no visitor app to approve on most roads. Some lanes have an RWA barrier or a guard, and gated complexes such as DDA Punjabi Bagh Enclave record visitors at the gate.
Before the free demo, send the tutor your house number, road number, whether you are in East or West, and a map pin of the gate. If the house has a domestic staff member who answers the door, tell them the tutor's name and the time. If there is a guard at the lane, give the guard the same details once.
For a young child, keep an adult at home throughout the lesson and choose a room where the door can stay open. In a large house, that might mean using the dining room rather than an upstairs bedroom.
If you would like a woman tutor, add that to your request; we can look for a woman home tutor in Delhi who travels to Punjabi Bagh or teaches online, where one fits your subject and timing. Before a tutor can teach in Punjabi Bagh through NXTutors, they confirm a phone or email with a one-time code and upload a government photo ID that our team reviews. It is not a police or background check, so use the demo to judge the person yourself. Read how our ID check works.
Requests from Punjabi Bagh are mostly for CBSE, with some ICSE and ISC students and a smaller number on IB or IGCSE. Where a household has children in two different schools, it is common to have two boards under one roof, and one tutor may not cover both well.
For a CBSE home tutor in Delhi, the base is the NCERT books and the sample papers on cbseacademic.nic.in. An ICSE or ISC tutor follows the CISCE syllabus, which has prescribed literature texts, so share the school's book list in the first week. IB and IGCSE students usually need a tutor who knows that programme specifically; online is often the practical way to find one.
In a large house, the useful step is to agree one study room for both children and stagger the lessons, so one child is not distracted by the other's class. For the full side-by-side comparison, read our CBSE vs ICSE vs IB vs IGCSE guide.
Short, regular lessons work better than long ones. Three or four sessions a week of around 45 minutes to an hour suit most young children. In a big house, pick one table that becomes the study spot and keep the school diary and pencil box there. Tutors who work with this age often ask to see the class notebook first, so they know what the teacher is doing that week. Our primary home tutors in Delhi page covers this stage.
This is when Maths and Science start to build on earlier years, and a small gap can grow quietly. Many families start with one tutor for both, then add English or a language if the report card points to it. A weekly look at the last school test is more useful than working only from the textbook.
For Punjabi Bagh students, board preparation starts in Class 9, not Class 10. Lessons of about 90 minutes, two or three times a week, leave time to teach and then set a timed question. A Maths tutor at home in Delhi also helps with presenting working step by step, which board marking rewards.
Senior students usually need one tutor per subject, and the stream decides which: Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology for Science; Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies for Commerce. Because Punjabi Bagh sits on two metro lines, you can draw on subject specialists from a wider stretch of the city than most colonies allow. Class 12 Physics is a common request.
JEE and NEET preparation is usually separate from board tuition. Many students use a home tutor to keep the board subjects steady and take entrance help online or at a centre. Mixing the two in one weekly plan works if the tutor knows the exam the student is aiming for.
For most students here, board exams fall in the first months of the year. Take the dates only from the boards: CBSE publishes date sheets on cbse.gov.in, CISCE posts ICSE and ISC timetables on cisce.org, IB Diploma exams run in May and November sessions, and Cambridge IGCSE has March, June and November series.
Locally, Wikipedia notes that a Janmashtami festival is celebrated at Punjabi Bagh Stadium, also known as the Traffic Training Park. If your home is near the West station, expect heavier crowds that week and plan lessons around them. In winter, agree with the tutor early when lessons switch from new topics to past papers.
A home tutor saves your Punjabi Bagh child the trip and lets you see how the lesson goes. In Punjabi Bagh, the space in most houses makes home tuition comfortable, and the four stations mean you are not limited to tutors from your own road.
Online lessons skip the Ring Road entirely. They suit roadworks weeks, festival crowds near the West station, and subjects where the right specialist lives far away. Senior IB, IGCSE and entrance subjects are where an online tutor in Delhi often makes most sense.
A coaching centre puts the travel on your child. From Punjabi Bagh, two metro lines make that easier than from many colonies, but a late class still means crossing the chowk or riding home after dark. Many families keep a home tutor for school subjects and use a centre or online class only for one specialist need.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee, and NXTutors shows it on the profile before you book the demo.
The class, the board and the subject move the fee most, followed by how many hours a week you book. Travel plays a part too. A tutor who lives on your side of the Ring Road has an easy trip; one who has to cross Punjabi Bagh Chowk in the evening may prefer fewer, longer lessons.
Before regular classes begin, ask how the tutor treats lessons you cancel, festival weeks, and extra sessions before exams. Work out the monthly total from the hourly fee, lesson length and number of lessons, so nothing surprises you at month end.
We could not find a Delhi Public Library branch inside Punjabi Bagh on the library's own West Zone list. The nearest listed units are the zonal library in East Patel Nagar and a sub-branch in Janakpuri. Punjabi Bagh Club offers sports and rooms but is mainly for its members. For most students here, a fixed, quiet room at home remains the study space.
Pitampura belongs to a separate zone in the north; the others share our West Delhi zone guide.

Maths that suddenly feels harder in Class 9, or NEET biology that has to fit around school: these are the kinds of request a Punjabi Bagh parent can send us. Let us know your child's year, board and the topics that worry you, and two or three tutors are picked for you. Each can be tried in a free first class.
Punjabi Bagh gives its name to part of the Janakpuri, Rajouri Garden & Punjabi Bagh zone, which has twelve pages on NXTutors. Tutors who live in Punjabi Bagh or travel to it come first on this page. After them we show tutors linked to Paschim Vihar, Rajouri Garden, Moti Nagar and further zone pages, then teachers from further afield in Delhi, home tutors from a different NCR city and, last, online tutors. A short line on each card explains its place.
For a NEET aspirant, ask the tutor how they balance school chapters with entrance practice, and how often they would set timed questions. Younger children may simply need regular, unhurried maths with someone who checks the working, not just the answer. Our maths home tutors page shows the choice across Delhi.
