Naraina Vihar is part of our Janakpuri, Rajouri Garden and Punjabi Bagh zone in Delhi. It is a compact residential colony with an underground Pink Line station beneath it, and it sits right beside an industrial area and an old village, which shapes how a tutor finds you.

"Naraina" on a map covers more than the colony. Wikipedia divides the Naraina area into industrial, residential and rural parts: Naraina Vihar is the residential colony of DDA flats and private houses, the Naraina Industrial Area focuses on steel and electronics, and Naraina Gaon is the old village. The Border Roads Organisation also has its headquarters in Naraina.
For tuition, that matters on the first visit. A tutor told only "Naraina" may head for the industrial phases or the village. Always say Naraina Vihar and give the block.
Mygate's guide lists DDA flats in Block I, and residents' associations such as Vijay Niketan and Uday Niketan. Square Yards adds complexes including Krishi Kunj, SIDBI Apartment, Surya Homes, Vatika Apartment and Sartaj Apartment, and says apartments and standalone homes are spread evenly across the area. Mygate also places Welcome Park opposite the E block flats and mentions a Central Park.
The DDA's layout-plan list includes a development plan for Naraina Vihar and a layout for a vacant residential pocket behind the local shopping area. That local shopping area makes a handy meeting point if your block is hard to find.
Wikipedia lists Delhi Cantonment, Mayapuri, Inderpuri, Pusa, Shadipur Depot and Kirti Nagar as neighbouring areas, and Mygate adds Loha Mandi. Naraina Vihar railway station is about a kilometre away, according to both Mygate and Square Yards.
Square Yards' locality review sums up the trade-off well: residents rate connectivity highly, and flag congestion, noise and parking as the downsides. Here is what each means for tuition.
Square Yards also notes that Delhi's Master Plan 2047 proposes redevelopment options for older colonies. If any building work starts near your block, it is worth planning a few weeks of online lessons.
Naraina Vihar station opened on 14 March 2018 with the first section of the Pink Line. It serves both Naraina Vihar and Naraina Village and sits about 18 metres below ground. Wikipedia records that the DMRC first planned two elevated stations on the Ring Road, then chose a single underground station directly beneath the colony. Building it was unusual: the station box and tunnel had to share the same space, because there was not enough land for the usual shafts.
The result, for parents, is a station inside the colony rather than on the main road. On the Pink Line, the next stop north is Mayapuri, then Rajouri Garden, where a tutor can change to the Blue Line, then ESI Basaidarapur and Punjabi Bagh West for the Green Line. The next stop south is Delhi Cantonment, and the line continues to Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus, the Airport Express interchange.
Most blocks are a walk or an e-rickshaw ride from the station. Give the tutor your block letter and a landmark such as Central Park, Welcome Park or the local shopping centre.
Wikipedia places Naraina beside the western Ring Road between Dhaula Kuan and Rajouri Garden. A tutor driving from Rajouri Garden or Dhaula Kuan comes along the Ring Road, which is slow at the evening peak, and DTC buses also serve the area. We do not quote travel minutes. Ask each tutor which way they will come.
Naraina Vihar mixes DDA flat blocks, residents' society complexes and private houses, so entry varies. In a society such as Vijay Niketan or Uday Niketan, the gate may note visitors; tell the guard the tutor's name and time before the demo. In a DDA block, the tutor usually climbs a shared stair, so say the flat number and floor. At a private house, a doorbell and a map pin are enough.
Wikipedia records that a federation of the colony's residents' welfare associations took the station plan to the Delhi High Court, so RWAs here are well organised. If your block's RWA keeps a visitor rule, follow it from the first visit, so a weekly tutor is a familiar face to the guard.
For a young child, keep an adult at home and the lesson room door open. To request a woman tutor, say so with your request; we look for a female home tutor in Delhi who travels to Naraina Vihar or teaches online. Tutors who join NXTutors confirm a phone or email with a one-time code and upload a government photo ID that our team reviews. That confirms identity only, not criminal history, so use the demo to decide. Details are on our ID check page.
Most requests from Naraina Vihar are for CBSE, with some ICSE and ISC students and a few on IB or IGCSE. CBSE lessons are built on NCERT textbooks and the board's sample papers at cbseacademic.nic.in; ICSE and ISC tutors follow CISCE's syllabus and prescribed texts. Our CBSE home tuition in Delhi page sets out what to expect.
In a compact DDA flat, a single table may serve for meals and study, so clear it before the tutor arrives and keep the board's books in one box. Read our comparison of the four boards for the details.
Short, frequent lessons help young children most. In a flat that faces a busy road, choose the quietest room and a time before the evening traffic picks up. Ask the tutor to glance at the school diary each visit, so practice matches the week's class work.
One tutor for Maths and Science is a common start, with English later if needed. Weekly checks of the school notebook and recent tests keep the lessons pointed at what the school is marking. Our English home tutors in Delhi page is useful if writing or grammar is the gap.
Treat Class 9 as the start of board preparation. Two or three lessons a week of around 90 minutes give time for a new topic and a timed question. A maths home tutor for Delhi students also helps with neat, step-by-step working.
Each senior subject usually needs its own tutor. Because the Pink Line links to the Blue Line at Rajouri Garden and the Green Line at Punjabi Bagh West, a Class 12 student here can look for a Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accountancy or Economics specialist across a broad stretch of West Delhi.
JEE and NEET work is usually separate from board tuition. A home tutor for board subjects and entrance help online or at a centre is a common mix.
Board exams for most students here are in the first months of the year. CBSE issues date sheets on cbse.gov.in, CISCE on cisce.org; IB Diploma exams fall in May and November, and Cambridge IGCSE in March, June and November. Take dates from those sites only.
Locally, the Ring Road is the variable. In revision weeks, a tutor who comes by Pink Line and walks from the platform is the most dependable way to keep every session on time.
A home tutor saves the journey and lets you see how the lesson goes. With a station under the colony, Naraina Vihar can draw tutors from along the whole Pink Line, not just the next block.
Online lessons remove road noise and traffic from the equation. They suit specialist subjects, exam weeks and any spell of building work nearby. An online tutor in Delhi is often the practical answer for senior IB, IGCSE or entrance subjects.
A coaching centre means the student travels. The Pink Line makes that straightforward, but a late class still means a walk home from the platform. Many families keep a home tutor for school subjects and use a centre or online class for one specific goal.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee, which NXTutors displays before the demo.
The class, board, subject and weekly hours shape the fee most. Travel has a smaller effect: a tutor who rides the Pink Line and walks in has an easy trip, while one who drives along the Ring Road at peak times may prefer fewer, longer sessions.
Before you start, agree how cancelled lessons, holidays and extra pre-exam sessions are counted, and work out the month's total.
We found no Delhi Public Library unit in Naraina Vihar on the library's West Zone list. The zonal library with a self-study room is in East Patel Nagar. Central Park and Welcome Park are good for a short walk between study blocks. For daily study, a fixed quiet corner at home is still the main option.
Mayapuri, Inderpuri and Delhi Cantonment also border Naraina but do not have NXTutors pages yet. See the full zone guide for this part of West Delhi.

A good first lesson in Naraina Vihar begins before the tutor arrives. Jot down your child's class, board and school books, which chapters feel shaky and the days your family can keep free each week. Send that with your request and we will find two or three teachers to match it; if the fit turns out wrong after a few weeks, switching later costs nothing.
Within NXTutors, Naraina Vihar is filed under the Janakpuri, Rajouri Garden & Punjabi Bagh zone, which has twelve pages, among them Hari Nagar, Janakpuri and Tilak Nagar. CISCE sets the ICSE and ISC examinations, and CBSE holds its board exams in Class 10 and Class 12, so say which one your child follows; a tutor who knows the right syllabus can spend the first weeks on gaps instead of format.
Physics and chemistry in Classes 11 and 12 reward a tutor who teaches the reasoning behind each formula. If a specialist cannot come to Naraina Vihar, an online class just for that subject can sit beside a home tutor for the rest. Our physics home tutors page covers teachers across Delhi, and you can compare them with the cards shown here.
