What home tuition costs in Moradabad

Science home tutor in Moradabad for Classes 6 to 10: careful words, clean diagrams, then the board paper

School science in Moradabad splits three ways by Class 10. A UP Board student writes a 70-mark paper that opens with an OMR section; a CBSE student writes 80 marks with passage-based questions; an ICSE student sits three separate science papers. The years before that matter just as much, because Classes 6 to 9 are when a child learns to describe what happened in exact words and to draw it neatly. NXTutors asks for the class, the board, the medium and your colony, then sends two or three science tutors who fit. Each fee is on the shortlist before you meet, and the first class is a free demo.

What should a science tutor work on in each class from 6 to 10?

The CBSE and ICSE science sections here are written by Aaditya Kashyap. The tutor's job changes almost every year from Class 6 to 10.

Home science tuition in Moradabad from Class 6 to Class 10: the tutor's job and what a parent can check
ClassTutor's jobWhat a parent can check
6–7Turn each activity in the Curiosity books, or the school's own reader, into an exact sentence and a small labelled sketchYour child names the process ("condensation") instead of describing it loosely
8The three sciences begin to separate; simple numericals and word equations appearNo numerical answer is written without its unit
9A sharp climb: motion graphs, the structure of matter and the cell all land in one yearWeak chapters are repaired ahead of the school test
10Every chapter is aimed at the exact board paper aheadYour child writes full sections against the clock at home

Until the board year, a single tutor covering physics, chemistry and biology tends to work, since one person can spot whether a slip in a numerical is really an arithmetic problem or a gap in the idea. See the national science home tutor page for how matching works, along with our pages on finding a science tutor for Class 6 or a science tutor for Class 8.

UP Board or CBSE: where do the Class 10 science marks sit?

The unit names match; the totals and weights do not.

Marks given in school30, from a practical exam20, internal assessmentCovered under lab marks below

To pass on the UP Board, the student needs 23 or more in the written paper and at least 10 in the practical. On CBSE, the school's 20 marks are four equal blocks of 5: periodic tests, multiple assessment, a portfolio, and subject enrichment through lab work. Other subjects on the state board are covered on our UP Board tutor in Moradabad page.

How is the UP Board High School science paper laid out?

Two sections make up the board's science model paper. In Section A, every question is multiple-choice for one mark and is answered by shading an OMR sheet. Section B calls for written answers. Both sections are cut into three sub-sections, and the instruction for Section B is that each sub-section is answered in one run, beginning on a fresh page.

That design rewards three habits, built well before the exam. First, a bubble is shaded only after the answer is settled in rough work. Second, a Section B sub-section is completed in full before the pen moves to the next one. Third, a new sub-section always begins on a new sheet, in practice as in the hall. The model paper we saw is printed in Hindi. A Hindi-medium child in Moradabad therefore needs someone who teaches each term in Hindi, writes the English word next to it, and corrects answers in whichever language the child will use on the day. For practice material, the board's own site carries model papers and a question bank for Classes 9 to 12.

What does the CBSE Class 10 science paper ask for?

There are 39 questions in CBSE's sample paper for 2026-27. Twenty are worth a mark each (multiple-choice plus assertion–reason pairs); six carry two marks and seven carry three; three four-mark questions rest on a passage or a set of data; and three five-mark answers close the paper. Measured by skill, recall and understanding earn 50% of the marks, application 30%, and analysis or evaluation 20%.

Some content stays in the Class 10 books but is assessed by the school alone: the electric motor, electromagnetic induction and the generator, the evolution topic, and the way the periodic table is arranged. Senior science leans on all of it, so it deserves proper teaching even though the board paper skips it. CBSE names 14 experiments that its paper may test. Everyone sits the main exam; an optional second sitting lets eligible students try to raise up to three subjects, with timing published on cbse.gov.in. Read our CBSE Class 10 science notes, the board-year planner and the Class 10 science tutor page for more.

Why does CBSE Class 9 science need fresh notes?

From 2026-27, CBSE Class 9 is taught from NCERT's newer book, Exploration, still assessed as 80 written and 20 internal. Within the 80, matter takes 27, the world of living 25, motion with force, work and sound 23, and the earth unit 5. Hand-me-down notebooks follow the old book's chapters, so ask the tutor to work from the new one. More is on the Class 9 science tutor page.

What is different for an ICSE science student?

CISCE examines ICSE science as three papers rather than one: Physics, Chemistry and Biology, each carrying internal marks. Because schools pick their own textbooks inside the council's syllabus, the tutor should teach from whatever your child actually brings home and practise on the council's specimen papers. Precise definitions and numericals worked to the last line are what earn marks. ICSE science teachers are fewer here, so mention it at the start; online lessons widen the choice.

Can a home tutor help with practical and internal marks?

Yes, though no apparatus comes home. On the UP Board, the practical exam is worth 30 marks out of 100. A tutor can rehearse the aim, steps, readings and precautions of each experiment, read through the practical file, and put the short oral questions an examiner is likely to ask. On CBSE, the 14 named experiments count twice, once in internal marks and again as possible board questions, so your child should be able to describe each one in writing.

What helps an after-school science lesson in six Moradabad colonies?

For a child in Classes 6 to 10, the lesson usually falls in the gap after school and before the evening meal, so a short, reliable trip for the tutor matters. Two-wheelers and autos are how most tutors get around. All localities are on our Moradabad page.

What makes a good science demo?

  • The school's current chapter. Ask for whatever the class is on this week, taught from your child's own textbook.
  • Drawing as a reflex. A light diagram, a circuit in proper symbols or a labelled body part turns up on the page without prompting.
  • Equations that balance. Reactions are balanced and checked on the page, and a heredity cross is written out one generation at a time.
  • Terms in the exam language. Your child hears the word in the language of the paper, with a translation beside it.
  • A clear next task. You can say what practice has been given and on which day the tutor will look at it.

Not convinced? We send the next tutor from your list for a demo, and changing tutor later costs nothing either. Our demo class checklist for parents suggests more questions.

Science Home Tutor in Moradabad: common questions

How are fees set for a science home tutor in Moradabad?

Each Moradabad science tutor sets their own fee, shaped by the class, the board and the trip to your colony. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. You see every fee before the demo.

What does NXTutors need to suggest a science tutor in Moradabad?

NXTutors needs the class, board, medium, the strand your child finds hardest, your colony with a landmark and your free afternoons. We send two or three matched science tutors with fees shown before you meet. The first class is a free demo, and switching to another tutor later is free.

How does the UP Board split Class 10 science marks for 2026-27?

The UP Board gives 70 marks to the written science paper and 30 to a practical exam. Chemical substances and the world of living carry 20 each, effects of current 13, natural phenomena 12 and natural resources 5. A Moradabad student must score at least 23 in the paper and 10 in the practical to pass.

Why must UP Board science answers in Section B start on a new page?

The board's model paper asks that each Section B sub-section be answered together, beginning on a fresh page. Both sections have three sub-sections, and Section A is shaded on an OMR sheet. A tutor in Moradabad can make the new-page habit automatic by using it in every practice paper from Class 9.

Which CBSE Class 10 science topics are marked only in school?

The electric motor, electromagnetic induction and the generator, the evolution topic and the periodic arrangement of elements are taught but marked only in school. They never appear on the board paper. A Moradabad tutor should still teach them well, because Class 11 physics, chemistry and biology build directly on these ideas.

Can a Moradabad child keep a single tutor for all three sciences until Class 10?

Yes, one tutor for all three sciences usually works well up to Class 10. The same person can see whether a repeated numerical slip comes from the maths or the science. ICSE is the exception worth checking, because it sets three separate papers, and a Moradabad child may need help in only one.

Can two children in Deputy Ganj share one science tutor visit?

Yes, siblings or cousins in Deputy Ganj can share a visit if the tutor knows each child's class and board in advance. Keep a separate notebook for each child so notes never mix. In the demo, watch whether the tutor keeps both children busy and how progress will be reported for each one.

What changed in CBSE Class 9 science for 2026-27?

CBSE Class 9 science now uses NCERT's newer textbook, Exploration, for 80 written marks plus 20 internal. Matter carries 27, the world of living 25, motion, force, work and sound 23, and the earth unit 5. Older notes from a sibling follow the previous book, so a Moradabad tutor should teach from the new chapters.

How can a science tutor prepare a UP Board child for the 30 practical marks?

A science tutor can rehearse the aim, method, readings and precautions of each experiment, even though the apparatus stays at school. On the UP Board, the practical exam carries 30 of the 100 Class 10 science marks. The tutor can also check the practical notebook and ask the short oral questions an examiner is likely to put.
