What home tuition costs in Moradabad

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

ICSE and ISC home tutors in Moradabad: English-heavy papers, internal work on time, electives chosen with care

CISCE schools are one of three board families in Moradabad, next to the UP Board and CBSE. An ICSE or ISC student writes a great deal: long answers in English across a wide syllabus, project work that counts, and in Class 11 a set of electives that cannot be changed later. Tutors who mainly teach the other two boards do not always mark to that standard. This page explains how the council groups and marks the Class 10 subjects, the ISC rules worth knowing before Class 11, how a tutor plans the CISCE years, how tutors reach six localities, and what to test in the free demo.

CISCE beside the other two boards in Moradabad

Our Moradabad home tutors page notes that families here follow CBSE, CISCE and the UP Board. We do not publish how many follow each. For tuition, the useful point is how differently the three examine. The UP Board, served for this district by its regional office at Bareilly, examines at High School and Intermediate and publishes model papers and a question bank; its Class 9 Social Science paper for 2026–27, for instance, is 70 written marks and 30 school-based. ICSE asks for longer answers in English, prescribes its own texts, and after each exam season publishes an Analysis of Pupil Performance that points to the questions where candidates dropped marks. A tutor coming from the state board should show they can mark to the council's standard.

How the council groups the Class 10 subjects

ICSE subject groups and their exam-to-internal split
GroupSubjectsPaper : internal
Group I, taken by allEnglish, a second language, and History, Civics & Geography80 : 20
Group II, two or three chosenMathematics, Science, Economics, Commercial Studies, Environmental Science, or a modern foreign or classical language, among others80 : 20
Group III, one chosenAn applied subject such as Computer Applications, Economic or Commercial Applications, Art or Physical Education50 : 50

In the Group III subject, internal work earns as much as the paper. Ask the tutor to keep a dated list of projects and check it at the start of each month; those are marks a student can secure early.

Mathematics and the three science papers

Mathematics has one 80-mark paper. Its 20 internal marks come from at least two assignments, each marked by the school's teacher and by an external examiner. The course runs from commercial arithmetic, including banking and shares, through algebra, geometry and trigonometry to statistics, and working is expected at every step; a correct answer without it loses marks.

Physics, Chemistry and Biology are separate papers of 80 marks, each with 20 marks of internal practical work. Strength in one does nothing for the other two. Decide early whether one tutor can carry all three or whether the weakest needs its own specialist, and use the council's specimen papers and its Analysis of Pupil Performance as the reference.

Writing to the CISCE standard

Many marks in ICSE are lost in the writing, not the knowledge. A tutor should teach a few habits until they are automatic:

  • Answer the verb. "State", "explain", "distinguish" and "give a reason" ask for different lengths and shapes of answer.
  • Use the subject's words. Science answers need exact terms; history answers need named causes and results, not general remarks.
  • Show the step. In maths and numerical science, every line of working is written, with units.
  • Label the diagram. A neat labelled diagram often carries marks on its own in biology and physics.
  • Revise in rotation. Chapters from Class 9 return in Class 10, so one session in every few goes back to an older chapter in each paper.

For a student who studied in Hindi before joining a CISCE school, English for science and history is the main hurdle. A tutor comfortable in both languages can explain in Hindi while insisting that every written answer is in English. Our English home tutors in Moradabad page covers language and literature.

ISC rules to know before Class 11

  • How many subjects: English is compulsory, with three to five electives, and no more than six subjects in all.
  • No late changes: after a date set in the regulations during the Class 11 registration year, subjects are fixed, and a Class 12 subject must have been studied in Class 11.
  • Promotion: 35% in four subjects, including English, and 75% attendance.
  • Practicals: compulsory wherever a subject has them; Physics cannot be paired with Engineering Science.
  • Results: grades run from 1 to 9; a pass certificate needs four subjects including English, plus Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service.

ISC Mathematics has an 80-mark theory paper and 20 marks of project work in each year. See our ISC maths tutor page and the ICSE and ISC maths guide for the paper itself.

ISC science beside JEE or NEET

An ISC science student preparing for an entrance exam works with two chapter orders: the school's ISC sequence and the NCERT-based entrance syllabus. The same topic can come up months apart. In the first weeks of Class 11, ask the tutor for a one-page map listing each ISC chapter, the matching NCERT chapter and when each is due. Then the tutor can add NCERT wording and quick objective practice where ISC is light, and keep long answers, practicals and projects moving where entrance practice ignores them. See JEE home tutors in Moradabad and NEET home tutors in Moradabad.

The CISCE years for a Moradabad student

From Class 6 to ISC: what each year needs from a tutor
ClassWhat countsTuition that helps
6 to 8School tests onlyFull-sentence answers, all maths steps on paper, correct science words
9The start of the two-year ICSE courseA revision rota from the first term; diagrams and working every week
10Council papers and internal marksTimed specimen papers, reviewed against the council's analysis
11Electives fixed; promotion rules applyCareful subject choice, an early start on harder ISC chapters
12ISC theory, practicals and projectsDepth in each elective and every practical and project date met

If you are weighing ISC against CBSE or the UP Board for Class 11, read our CBSE and UP Board pages for Moradabad and the board and stream guide. The ICSE and ISC board hub describes the council in full.

How ICSE tutors reach six Moradabad localities

  • New Moradabad: a large township in numbered sectors; give sector and pocket first.
  • Lakri Fazalpur: newer blocks of flats; add the building and floor, and tell the entrance the tutor's name.
  • Mansarovar Colony: off Delhi Road near Milan Vihar; a lane and landmark help.
  • Himgiri Colony: on the Kanth Road side; tutors from Ram Ganga Vihar or Harthala are close by.
  • Katghar: the older east, with its own railway station; name the mohalla or lane.
  • Govind Nagar Colony: near Katghar and Lajpat Nagar; share a corner most people know.

The Delhi Road and New Moradabad, Kanth Road and Old City and Katghar zone pages, and the Moradabad home tuition guide, have more on each side of the city.

After Class 10: stay with the council or change board?

Some Moradabad families move from ICSE to CBSE or to UP Board Intermediate for Class 11, and some move the other way. Neither is wrong, but the change is bigger than a new set of books. Moving to ISC means fixing electives early under the council's rules and keeping up long English answers for two more years. Moving to CBSE means NCERT texts and sample papers with case-based questions. Moving to the UP Board means its own syllabus files, model papers and question bank, and a larger school-based share in some subjects. Before deciding, ask a tutor to sit with your child over one past paper from each option, then talk through which style suits the way your child writes. If the move happens, the first month of tuition should map old chapters against new ones and set up the internal work of the new board, so nothing is missed in the first term.

Home or online for ICSE and ISC?

Because ICSE marking is about written answers, the tutor must see the writing as it happens. At home that is easy. Online it needs a stylus tablet, a shared board or a phone held above the notebook. ISC electives such as Computer Science or Economics may have no specialist nearby, and online solves that well. Our online tutors for Moradabad page explains how to set it up.

Testing a tutor against the council's standard

  1. Give the tutor one long answer your child wrote recently. Is it marked line by line, with the missing points named?
  2. Ask how the tutor uses the specimen papers and the Analysis of Pupil Performance.
  3. Ask how internal assignments, practicals and projects will be kept on time.
  4. For ISC, ask which electives the tutor has taught, and how they would map ISC chapters against an entrance syllabus.
  5. Check that the weekly slot can be kept from where the tutor lives.

If it does not feel right, we line up another demo, and switching later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (read about the check).

ICSE Home Tutor in Moradabad (ICSE & ISC, Classes 6–12): common questions

Why does an ICSE student in Moradabad need a tutor who knows CISCE marking?

An ICSE student in Moradabad is marked on long written answers in English, exact terms and full working. A tutor used mainly to UP Board or CBSE papers may know the chapters but mark too gently. Ask any tutor how they use the specimen papers and the council's Analysis of Pupil Performance before you agree.

What does an ICSE or ISC home tutor cost in Moradabad?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Moradabad tutor sets their own fee, and you see it before the free demo class.

How are ICSE Class 10 subjects grouped and marked?

ICSE Class 10 subjects sit in three groups under the CISCE regulations. Group I, taken by all, and Group II, where two or three are chosen, are marked 80 for the paper and 20 internal. Group III, one applied subject, is split 50 and 50, so steady project work there secures marks early.

Can one tutor teach ICSE physics, chemistry and biology to a Moradabad student?

One tutor can teach all three ICSE sciences if they are strong in each, but check this in the demo. Each science is a separate 80-mark paper with 20 internal practical marks, and strength in one does not carry the others. Many Moradabad families keep one tutor and add a specialist for the weakest science.

What ISC rules should a Moradabad family know before Class 11?

Before Class 11, know that ISC takes English plus three to five electives, at most six subjects. Subjects are fixed after a set date in the registration year, and a Class 12 subject must be studied in Class 11. Promotion needs 35% in four subjects, including English, and 75% attendance.

How can an ISC science student in Moradabad balance school and JEE or NEET?

An ISC science student balances both with a one-page map, made in the first weeks of Class 11, of each ISC chapter beside its NCERT match and due dates. The tutor then adds NCERT wording and objective practice where ISC is light, and keeps long answers, practicals and projects moving where entrance work ignores them.

Our child moved from a Hindi-medium school to ICSE in Moradabad. What helps?

A tutor comfortable in Hindi and English helps most after a move from a Hindi-medium school to ICSE. Explanations can come in Hindi, but every written answer should be in English, with exact science terms and full sentences. Regular marked long answers, plus our English tutor pages for Moradabad, close the gap faster.

Is online tuition suitable for ISC electives in Moradabad?

Online tuition suits ISC electives in Moradabad well when no specialist lives nearby, for example in Computer Science or Economics. Because CISCE marking depends on written answers, the tutor must see the writing as it happens, through a stylus tablet, a shared board or a phone camera pointed at the page.

How do we arrange an ICSE home tutor in Moradabad?

Arrange one by sending the class, the subjects or ISC electives, and your locality with its sector, phase or lane. We reply with two or three matched tutors, each fee shown first, and the first class is a free demo. If the fit is wrong we line up another, and switching tutor later is free.
