Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In Moradabad, two children on the same road can be writing very different maths papers. One sits the UP Board High School exam with an OMR section in Hindi; the child next door writes the CBSE paper with case studies; a third is in an ISC school where long, reasoned answers carry the marks. A tutor who is excellent for one of them may be a poor fit for the other two. So NXTutors starts with the paper. Tell us the class, the board, the language your child writes in and your colony, and we send two or three maths tutors who fit. You see each fee on the shortlist, and the first class with the tutor you pick is a free demo.
This page has two named authors. Ajay Vatsyayan wrote the IB, IGCSE and ISC maths guidance, and Abhinandan Tiwary the Class 10 sections for CBSE and ICSE. The UP Board figures are taken from the board's own syllabus files and model papers. Find your child's row first; the last column is the question to put to any tutor before you agree a demo.
| Paper | Set by | How the marks are built | Question for the tutor |
|---|---|---|---|
| High School (Class 10) | UP Board (UPMSP) | 70 on the written paper and 30 internal, project work included | How will you train my child for the OMR part? |
| Intermediate (Class 12) | UP Board (UPMSP) | One paper for the full 100; calculus is 44 of it | When in the session will integration begin? |
| Class 10, Standard or Basic | CBSE | 80 on the board paper and 20 marked in school | Which level suits my child, and why? |
| Class 12 | CBSE | 38 compulsory questions for 80, plus 20 internal | How will board answers stay sharp beside entrance work? |
| ICSE Class 10, ISC Class 12 | CISCE | 80 written and 20 for internal work or projects | Which year's syllabus are you teaching from? |
| IB Diploma, Cambridge IGCSE | IB; Cambridge | IB papers plus an exploration; IGCSE at Core or Extended | Which course or tier have you taught lately? |
The board's 2026-27 Class 10 maths syllabus puts 70 marks on the written paper and 30 on internal assessment in school, and project work is part of that 30. To pass, a student needs 23 in the paper and 10 from the internal part. The seven units carry very unequal weight, which gives a tutor a natural running order:
The model paper shows how the hall will feel. Reading time comes first. Section A has 20 one-mark multiple-choice questions filled in on an OMR sheet, and the sheet allows no cutting, eraser or whitener, so the habit to build is to settle the answer in rough work before touching the circle. Section B holds the remaining 50 marks in five questions, and each tells the student how many of its parts to attempt; choosing the right parts is a skill worth rehearsing on old papers. The model paper we read is set in Hindi, so a Hindi-medium child needs a tutor who explains and corrects in Hindi with the textbook's own terms. The board has also said that only board-authorised textbooks are to be used in its schools for 2026-27, so practice should start from the book your child was given, not from a thick guide.
In Classes 11 and 12 the internal 30 goes, each year is a single 100-mark paper, and the weight swings towards calculus.
| Class | Units and marks | Where home sessions should go |
|---|---|---|
| 11 | Algebra 35; sets and functions 28; coordinate geometry 15; statistics and probability 12; calculus 10 | Functions and their graphs, because almost every Class 12 chapter rests on them |
| 12 | Calculus 44; vectors and three-dimensional geometry 18; algebra 15; relations and functions 10; probability 8; linear programming 5 | Integration and its uses, practised every week rather than saved for the winter |
The Class 12 model paper has nine questions, all compulsory, and the marks per part climb from one-mark multiple-choice items at the start to eight-mark questions at the end. Those long questions pay for a complete line of working, so the tutor should mark the method as firmly as the final answer. A student who also hopes to sit JEE needs algebra and coordinate geometry taken well past the board's depth. Our UP Board tutor in Moradabad page covers the board's other subjects, and the Class 12 maths tutor page shows how we match for the board year.
The UP Board was set up in 1921 and has its head office in Prayagraj. Moradabad district does not have its own regional office: exams, results, duplicate mark sheets, migration and verification for the district are handled by the board's Regional Office at Bareilly, which also serves Amroha, Bijnor, Rampur and Sambhal.
The board's website is also a teaching resource that many families overlook. For Classes 9 to 12 it carries the syllabus by subject, a month-wise academic calendar, model papers and a question bank. A tutor should pace the year against that calendar. One warning from the board is worth passing on: it says it never contacts candidates one by one, and that nobody should share a roll number or bank details with a caller who offers marks for money. Such calls can be reported on the cyber helpline 1930.
For 2026-27, CBSE spreads the 80 Class 10 board marks across seven units. Algebra carries 20, geometry 15, trigonometry 12, statistics and probability 11, mensuration 10, and real numbers and coordinate geometry 6 each. The paper runs in five sections: twenty one-mark items (two of them assertion–reason), then two-mark, three-mark and five-mark questions, and finally three case studies of four marks. No calculator is allowed, and π is 22/7 unless the question says otherwise.
Choose Standard over Basic if Class 11 maths is a real possibility. CBSE also allows an optional second Class 10 exam to raise marks in up to three subjects; take its schedule only from cbse.gov.in. In Class 12, the paper has 38 compulsory questions for 80 marks, and calculus alone is worth 35. For JEE Main, the 2026 Paper 1 had 25 maths questions, 20 with options and 5 with a numerical answer, at +4 for a right answer and −1 for a wrong one; confirm the next pattern on jeemain.nta.nic.in. Further help sits in the Class 10 maths preparation guide, the Class 12 calculus and algebra guide, the JEE maths topic-wise plan, our Class 10 maths tutor page and the JEE home tutor in Moradabad page.
Fewer Moradabad teachers work with these four courses than with the UP Board or CBSE, so put the course name in the first line of your request. A common answer is an online specialist for new teaching and a nearby tutor who checks written practice at home.
Most tutors here travel by two-wheeler or auto, and the colonies around Civil Lines and along Kanth Road sit close enough that a tutor from the next colony is often the steadiest choice. Every locality is listed on our Moradabad page.
| Colony | Setting | Help the tutor find you | Maths tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Civil Lines | The old administrative core, with family homes on broad roads beside district offices | Road name, house and a corner everyone knows; say if the house sits behind a shared entrance | Neighbours may follow three boards, so name the paper in the first message |
| Jigar Colony | A settled colony of family homes north of Civil Lines | A map pin with the lane, gate number and the nearest crossing | Classes 5 to 8 are the years to catch a weak topic, before it spreads |
| Ram Ganga Vihar | A large colony off Kanth Road in Phase 1 and Phase 2 | Phase first, then block and house, since numbers repeat across phases | Share the coaching timetable so calculus sessions do not clash with it |
| Deen Dayal Nagar | Family homes in parts 1 and 2, beside Ram Ganga Vihar | The part, then street, house and a shop people know | Keep the school date sheet visible so timed papers fit around it |
| Ashiyana Colony | A development authority scheme in two phases, houses numbered by block | Phase, then block and house, for example Ashiyana II, block A | ICSE and ISC students here need method marked in the council's style |
| Harthala | A mixed locality on Kanth Road, with its own halt on the lines into the junction | The lane or colony inside Harthala, door number and a corner on Kanth Road | After a mid-year transfer, map the old and new syllabus before new chapters |
The zone guides for Civil Lines and Central Moradabad, Ram Ganga Vihar and Deen Dayal Nagar and Kanth Road add more local detail, and the Moradabad home tuition guide covers the whole city.
Ask for this week's school chapter, with the latest marked test on the table, and watch for:
If the fit feels wrong, tell us and the next tutor on your shortlist comes for a demo; a change of tutor later is free as well. The demo class checklist for parents has more to ask.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee, and it tends to move with the class, the paper, the tutor's experience of it, the trip to your colony at your chosen hour and the number of sessions you book each week. You see every fee on the shortlist before any demo, and the Moradabad home tuition fees guide lists the questions worth asking.
Five details are enough: the class; the exact paper (UP Board High School or Intermediate, CBSE Standard or Basic, ICSE, ISC, IB or IGCSE); the language your child answers in; your colony with its phase, part or block and a landmark; and the days and times you can offer around school or coaching. Two or three maths tutors come back with their fees, and you pick one for the free demo. If nobody suitable can reach your colony at that hour, we suggest online or mixed lessons; see our online tutors for Moradabad page and the home tutor or online tutor article. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). NXTutors works from Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India; the national maths home tutor page and our maths tutors in Meerut page show how we work elsewhere in the state. Moradabad maths tutors set their own fees, which move with the class, the paper and the trip to your colony. Send the class, the exact paper, your child's answering language, your colony with its phase or block, and the times you can offer. NXTutors replies with two or three matched maths tutors, each fee shown before you meet. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Algebra carries the most, with 18 of the 70 written marks in the UP Board Class 10 maths syllabus for 2026-27. Trigonometry follows with 12; geometry, mensuration, and statistics with probability have 10 each; number systems and coordinate geometry have 5 each. The other 30 marks are internal and include project work.
Settle every answer in rough work first, because the OMR sheet allows no cutting, eraser or whitener. Section A of the model paper has 20 one-mark multiple-choice questions on that sheet. Section B then carries 50 marks in five questions, each stating how many parts to attempt, so choosing parts well is worth practising too.
Calculus is worth 44 of the 100 marks in the UP Board Class 12 maths paper, more than any other unit. Vectors and three-dimensional geometry add 18 and algebra 15. A Moradabad tutor should start integration practice early in the session and keep it weekly, since the long questions reward a complete line of working.
The UP Board Regional Office at Bareilly handles exams, results, duplicate mark sheets, migration and verification for Moradabad district. It also serves Amroha, Bijnor, Rampur and Sambhal. The board's contact page on upmsp.edu.in lists the office; a tutor cannot settle these matters, so families should go to the board directly.
Choose Standard if there is any chance of taking maths in Class 11. Both levels test the same chapters for 80 board marks, but roughly three-quarters of Basic marks reward recall and understanding, against a little over half in Standard. A tutor can judge the right level from your child's recent school tests.
Yes, and the first task is to map the old and new syllabus side by side. Moradabad is a Northern Railway divisional headquarters, so families do arrive mid-session, sometimes onto a new board. A tutor should close the missing chapters first, then join the class pace, and online sessions can help while the family settles in.
Home maths tuition suits younger children, geometry proofs and Hindi-medium students whose written steps need checking at the table. Online lessons suit a specialist living across Moradabad, ISC or IB courses with few local teachers, or evenings when coaching runs late. Many families mix one home visit and one online session a week with the same tutor.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
