Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

For most families in Vizag, school means the Andhra Pradesh state syllabus, and it is examined by two bodies in turn. BSEAP, the secondary board of the state, conducts the SSC public examinations that close Class 10, and also the OSSC and the Advanced Supplementary Examinations. BIEAP, the state's Intermediate board, is responsible for the two Intermediate years that follow, across general and vocational courses. Both boards put model papers and blueprints on their websites, and those free documents are the clearest guide to what a tutor should practise. This page explains what we found in them, how a tutor in Visakhapatnam should use them, how tutors reach your part of a long city, and what to ask at the demo. Papers are revised often, so treat everything here as a starting point and look again at both official sites in the year your child sits the papers.
| Need | BSEAP, bse.ap.gov.in (SSC) | BIEAP, bie.ap.gov.in (Intermediate) |
|---|---|---|
| Practice material | Model question papers, blueprints and weightage tables for the 2027 SSC, with earlier years' pages still online | Model papers and blueprints listed by academic year, for general and vocational subjects |
| Second chances | Advanced Supplementary Examinations, with hall tickets, results, and reverification and recounting | See the board's own notices for the current year |
| Certificates | Online migration certificates, a DigiLocker circular, and forms for duplicate certificates | Check the board's portal for the current notices |
| Special provisions | Provisions and concessions for Children with Special Needs, and the circular on scribes | Check the portal or ask the college |
| Private candidates | Online applications for private candidates | Check the portal |
If your child may qualify for the provisions for Children with Special Needs, read that material early in Class 9 or 10, because the paperwork takes time and the school usually applies for the student.
In the 2027 model papers, General Science is two separate examinations. Paper I is Physical Science and Paper II is Biological Science. Each runs for two hours, with a short reading time at the start counted inside those two hours, and each carries 50 marks over 17 questions.
| Section | Paper I, Physical Science | Paper II, Biological Science |
|---|---|---|
| I, one mark each | 8 questions | 6 questions |
| II, two marks each | 3 questions | 4 questions |
| III, four marks each | 3 questions; a choice of diagram in question 12 | 5 questions; a choice of diagram in question 12 |
| IV, eight marks each | 3 questions, each with an internal choice | 2 questions, each with an internal choice |
Look at where the marks sit. In Physical Science, the three eight-mark answers carry 24 of the 50 marks; in Biological Science, the five four-mark answers carry 20. A tutor should plan accordingly: long explanations, derivations and experiments for Paper I, and a steady supply of well-drawn diagrams and medium-length answers for Paper II. A student who is comfortable in chemistry and physics but weak in biology cannot make up the difference inside one paper. Our science home tutors in Visakhapatnam page goes into the subject itself.
The Physical Science blueprint divides the paper by what it tests: 60% awareness, meaning knowledge and understanding; 20% sensitivity, meaning how a student responds to a situation; and 20% creativity, meaning ideas, flexibility and combining concepts. It estimates 40% of marks as easy, 45% as average and 15% as difficult, and spreads the marks across eight chapters, from chemical reactions to the magnetic effects of current, with no chapter above 11 marks.
The model questions show what that means in practice. One asks how a student would gently correct a friend who believes something wrong, by asking a question rather than stating the answer. Others ask which of several suggestions a group should agree on, how to design a simple circuit, or how to complete a table of compounds. The Biological Science paper asks for awareness slogans, practical suggestions for a health problem seen in a village, a laboratory procedure and labelled diagrams. None of these can be answered from a memorised guidebook paragraph. A good tutor sets a few questions of each kind every week, and asks your child to explain answers aloud before writing them.
For maths, both science papers and social studies, the board's 2027 page lists Model Paper 1 and Model Paper 2, each with its blueprint. The two follow the same plan with different questions, so they make a natural pair of full practice papers. A sensible use: sit Model Paper 1 untimed in the first term to learn the shape, then sit Model Paper 2 under exam conditions later in the year and compare. The earlier years' model paper pages, still on the site, add more practice, but check each against the current blueprint before relying on it. For maths, read the blueprint for the chapter weights before planning revision, and see maths home tutors in Visakhapatnam.
On the SSC page each subject paper appears twice, labelled EM for English medium and TM for Telugu medium, and the Intermediate board's 2025-26 first-year papers were listed with the same two labels. The language papers are separate. At SSC level the board lists first-language papers in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Odia and a Sanskrit composite, second-language papers in Telugu, Hindi and Special English, and English as the third language.
Many Vizag children speak Telugu at home and read their textbooks in English, and some switch version when they change school. Spoken explanation can move freely between the two languages; what goes on paper should not. Practice answers belong in the medium of your child's own examination, with its exact technical vocabulary. When a child is moving from Telugu-version to English-version papers, a short glossary built chapter by chapter, used for a few weeks and then dropped, smooths the change. For the English papers, see English home tutors in Visakhapatnam.
| Paper | Length and marks | Structure |
|---|---|---|
| Mathematics II | Three hours, 100 marks | Twelve one-mark and ten two-mark questions to answer; seven four-mark answers chosen from ten; five eight-mark answers chosen from eight |
| Physics Paper II | Three hours, 85 marks | Twenty-three short compulsory items (nine worth a mark, fourteen worth two), then eight four-mark and two eight-mark answers picked from longer lists |
| Chemistry II | Three hours, 85 marks | The same four-part pattern as physics |
| Biology II | Three hours, 85 marks | One paper in two halves, Botany for 42 marks and Zoology for 43; in each half a student picks four of six four-mark questions and one long answer |
The board also lists second-year model papers in English, Telugu, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, History, Economics, Civics and Commerce, and separate blueprints for Botany and Zoology. Subject tutors for MPC and BiPC are on our physics, chemistry and biology pages for Vizag.
The Mathematics II blueprint puts 136 marks of questions in front of the student, of whom 100 count. Topic by topic, integrals have the most on offer at 23 marks, then determinants, vector algebra and probability at 15 each. That choice tempts students to skip chapters, which is risky: a skipped chapter removes options in the very sections where choice exists, and the one-mark and two-mark questions, which have no choice, reach almost every topic.
A tutor can turn the choice into an advantage. First, make sure no chapter is left out entirely, because the short compulsory questions will find it. Second, build real strength in the heavily weighted topics, so that the eight-mark choices are easy to make. Third, practise picking: in each timed paper, the student spends a moment reading every long question before starting, chooses, and does not change course halfway. The same habit applies to the physics and chemistry papers, where two eight-mark answers are chosen from a larger set.
Not every Intermediate student is on MPC, BiPC or a commerce and humanities group. The board's 2026-27 lists include vocational model papers for courses such as Electrical Technician, Office Assistantship, Medical Lab Technician, Ophthalmic Technician, Civil Engineering Technician, and Computer Graphics and Animation, as well as Employability Skills. If your child follows one of these, send us the course name and code as the college writes them. Few tutors teach any single vocational course, so we look for someone who has taught that exact syllabus, and online lessons usually make the list longer.
For state admissions, the CET portal of APSCHE (cets.apsche.ap.gov.in), which describes the council as a statutory body of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, lists AP EAPCET for engineering, agriculture and pharmacy alongside several other state tests. Everything about that test, from syllabus to dates, should come from the portal itself. JEE and NEET, the national routes, are run by the NTA. Whichever entrance your child aims at, the Intermediate marks still depend on complete written answers, so entrance coaching should never squeeze board practice out of the week. See JEE home tutors in Visakhapatnam and NEET home tutors in Visakhapatnam.
Lay the ground the SSC papers take for granted: secure algebra and geometry, exact science terms and neat figures in the medium your child will write, and complete written answers as a habit. Two sessions a week usually suffice.
Plan from the blueprints. Practise the eight-mark answers against time from the first term, keep Physical and Biological Science as separate tracks, and sit both model papers well before the examinations.
Intermediate maths and physics step up sharply from Class 10. Start a mistakes log in the first month and work from the first-year model papers in your child's version.
Use the Mathematics II blueprint and the 85-mark science papers to order revision, keep practical records up to date, and add entrance work alongside if it is part of the plan.

A weekly tutor makes the same journey every week, and Visakhapatnam stretches a long way along the highway, so we start from tutors on your side of the city.
Every locality has a page on the Visakhapatnam home tutors page, and the Visakhapatnam home tuition guide covers all five zones. Intermediate students with long college days often manage better with a mix, a visit at home plus a lesson on screen each week; see online tutors for Visakhapatnam.
Your shortlist has two or three matched tutors, each with the fee visible in advance. The demo costs nothing, and neither does changing tutor afterwards. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (how we check tutors). For a fuller list of things to watch, use our checklist for parents.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors fix their own rates. Our pricing guide and the Visakhapatnam fees post explain what pushes a quote up or down.
Send the class, EM or TM, the subjects or Intermediate group, where you live and a nearby landmark, and the hours that are genuinely free, then book the free first class. Or look through tutor profiles on your own. Families in Vijayawada can see AP Board tutors in Vijayawada, and teachers of state-board subjects can look at tuition jobs in Visakhapatnam.
Five things: the class, the subjects or Intermediate group, EM or TM, your locality with a landmark, and the hours your child is free. From that we pick two or three tutors who teach those papers and can make the trip every week. Their fees are visible before you book, and the first class costs nothing.
The Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh, conducts the SSC public examinations at the end of Class 10, along with the OSSC and the Advanced Supplementary Examinations. The Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, runs the two Intermediate years, with general and vocational courses. Each publishes model papers on its own site.
The 2027 model papers split General Science into two papers: Physical Science and Biological Science. Each is a two-hour, 50-mark sitting of 17 questions over four sections. Students get a choice of diagram in question 12 and an either-or in every eight-mark question, nowhere else. A good Physical Science mark cannot rescue a weak Biological Science paper.
The Physical Science blueprint gives 60% of marks to awareness, 20% to sensitivity and 20% to creativity. So the model questions ask a student to correct a friend's mistaken idea, design a circuit or suggest solutions to a problem. A tutor should practise these weekly instead of relying on memorised guidebook answers.
The Mathematics II model paper for IPE 2027 is three hours and 100 marks. Every one- and two-mark item must be attempted; after that the student picks seven of ten four-mark questions and five of eight eight-mark ones. The blueprint gives integrals the most marks on offer, then determinants, vector algebra and probability.
Yes. Both boards publish subject papers labelled EM and TM, for English and Telugu medium. Mention TM in your request so we match tutors who can teach in that medium. Talk in lessons can mix languages, but practice answers should be in Telugu-medium wording, and a short glossary helps if your child later moves to EM.
Some tutors combine the two. The state test for engineering, agriculture and pharmacy, AP EAPCET, appears on the APSCHE CET portal, cets.apsche.ap.gov.in, and everything about it should be read there. In the demo, find out how the tutor protects written board practice while entrance work grows.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee, which you see before the demo; the class, the subjects and sessions a week shape the total.
