Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Chemistry is the subject where a Vizag student in Class 11 or 12 can feel busiest and least certain. Lecture notes pile up, the school or Intermediate course runs to its own calendar, and the board paper asks for written reasons that nobody has time to practise. Physical, organic and inorganic chemistry each need a different kind of work, and NEET, JEE and the board each count marks their own way. A home tutor can join those threads in one weekly session: check what was taught, find what did not land, and write it up the way each exam wants. NXTutors suggests two or three chemistry tutors matched to your child's course and able to reach your part of the city. You compare fees before meeting anyone, and the first lesson is a free demo.
In the senior years a student can be preparing for two or even three chemistry tests at once, each built differently.
| Exam | Share and format | What earns the marks |
|---|---|---|
| AP Intermediate (BIEAP) | Syllabus and papers set by the Board of Intermediate Education | Whatever the board's current scheme on bie.ap.gov.in sets out |
| CBSE Class 12 (043) | A 70-mark theory paper of 33 compulsory questions, plus 30 practical marks | Reasons in writing, balanced equations, careful numericals |
| NEET (UG), 2026 pattern | 45 of the 180 questions, carrying 180 of 720 marks, on paper | Quick, exact recall of NCERT statements |
| JEE Main 2026, Paper 1 | One-third of the paper: 20 option-based items and 5 numerical-answer items | Mechanisms and multi-step physical chemistry |
Each NTA exam in 2026 scored a correct response at plus four and a wrong one at minus one, and every year's bulletin restates the rules. For more, read the important NEET chemistry chapters, our JEE chemistry guide by branch and the NEET chemistry tutor page.
CBSE fixes marks for every chapter, which makes a weekly plan easy to draw up. The 2026-27 paper keeps last session's design. Grouped by branch, the ten chapters look like this:
Five chapters: the carbonyl chapter (aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids) at 8, Biomolecules at 7, and 6 apiece for Haloalkanes and Haloarenes, for Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers, and for Amines. The largest branch, and the one where conversion chains and named reactions decide most marks.
Electrochemistry 9, the heaviest single chapter; Solutions 7; Chemical Kinetics 7. Numericals with units and powers of ten handled carefully on every line.
The d- and f-Block Elements 7; Coordination Compounds 7. Trends explained with one clear reason each, plus naming, isomerism and bonding pictures.
The paper is in five lettered sections, with an internal choice in a few questions, and neither a calculator nor log tables may be taken in. Roughly two-fifths of it checks recall and understanding; the remainder asks the student to apply, analyse or evaluate. Class 12 has one main board exam. A chapter-by-chapter treatment is in our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide, and a board-year plan is on the Class 12 chemistry tutor page.
Two areas have left the Class 12 syllabus entirely for 2026-27: the solid state, and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block. Four more are still taught but assessed only by the school, never on the board paper: surface chemistry, the isolation of elements, polymers, and chemistry in everyday life.
Entrance students should pause before deleting anything. NEET and JEE Main follow syllabi that NTA issues separately, and some board-dropped material, parts of the p-block among it, may still be tested. Treat the board's list as a guide to board revision alone, and read the current entrance syllabus first.
The home session should follow the chapter your child's lecture batch or school is on rather than racing ahead, and give each branch the attention a large room cannot:
| Branch | Task at home | Sign it is working |
|---|---|---|
| Physical | Watch one or two numericals solved line by line, from data to unit | Fewer marks lost to units and powers of ten in tests |
| Organic | Keep a single reaction map linking alcohols, carbonyl compounds, acids and amines, redrawn from memory each week and checked against NCERT | Conversions answered as routes, not guesses |
| Inorganic | Short quizzes straight from the NCERT text, with the reason behind each trend asked aloud | Exact sentences recalled under time pressure |
| All three | Two board-style "give reasons" answers written and corrected before the tutor leaves | Board answers keep pace with entrance work |
More than families expect. Titration earns 8 and salt analysis 8; an experiment based on the theory content brings 6; 4 marks go to the project, and 4 more to the record and viva combined. In this session's titration, a permanganate solution is run against oxalic acid or Mohr's salt (ferrous ammonium sulphate), and each student weighs out and prepares the standard solution personally.
Glassware and reagents stay at school, but at home a tutor can go over the molarity sum for the sample the student weighs, a neat burette table that leads to the result, the order of salt analysis from preliminary to confirmatory tests, a project topic the student can really carry out, and favourite viva questions such as why permanganate titrations need no separate indicator.
ISC, IB and IGCSE specialists are fewer in Vizag than CBSE or state-board teachers, so ask early. If none can travel to you, an online specialist can teach while a local tutor marks the written practice.
Senior chemistry classes usually fall after lectures, when the main roads are at their fullest. Six localities from three zones show how to plan around that. Compare tutors by locality on our Visakhapatnam home tuition page.
Near the pre-boards, if a route turns unreliable, moving one weekly visit online protects the revision plan. The Visakhapatnam home tuition guide has more on each zone.
Class 11, in most cases. The mole concept, equilibrium and the opening organic chapters return inside solutions, electrochemistry and every conversion question, and a gap left in Class 11 shows up a year later in both the board paper and entrance tests. A term spent making those foundations solid usually costs less than repairing them in the board year. See the Class 11 chemistry tutor page, or the national chemistry home tutor page for how we match elsewhere.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor names a personal rate. It tends to rise with the exam being targeted and the tutor's record with it, and the evening trip to your locality and the number of weekly sessions also count. The same tutor may charge less online. Fees are all visible before the demo.
Share the class, the course, the main exam ahead, the branch that loses marks, the days of any entrance classes, your locality and a landmark, and the evenings that are free. We return two or three chemistry tutors with fees, and you decide who comes for the free demo. If the first choice is wrong, a second demo follows, and changing tutor later costs nothing. When nobody suitable can reach you, we propose an online or part-online plan. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (how we check tutors). For the other sciences in Vizag, see the physics and biology tutor pages, and for medical entrance the NEET home tutor in Visakhapatnam page.
Chemistry teachers who live in Visakhapatnam and want to teach close to home can browse open requests on the Visakhapatnam tuition jobs page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Vizag tutor sets a personal rate, and the full shortlist of fees appears before your demo.
A slower hour the batch cannot offer: physical chemistry numericals watched step by step, an organic reaction map redrawn weekly, inorganic lines tested straight from NCERT, and two board-style written reasons corrected on the spot. The tutor follows the batch's chapter instead of starting new ones.
Organic, which holds 33 of the 70 theory marks, against 23 for physical and 14 for inorganic. The heaviest single chapter is electrochemistry at 9, followed by aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids at 8, so conversions and cell numericals deserve weekly practice from early in the year.
For the 2026-27 CBSE board paper, yes: the solid state and p-block Groups 15 to 18 have left the Class 12 syllabus. NTA writes separate syllabi for NEET and JEE Main, though, and some of that material may still be examined there, so check before discarding the notes.
Titration and salt analysis carry 8 apiece, a content-based experiment 6, the project 4, and record plus viva 4 together. This session's titration runs permanganate against oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, and students weigh their own standard solution, so practise the molarity working at home well before the exam.
Yes. We shortlist tutors who teach from the prescribed Intermediate textbook and explain in Telugu or English, as your child writes. The Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh revises its syllabus and papers from time to time, so take exam details only from bie.ap.gov.in, not from older guide books.
Yes, with planning. Madhurawada is spread along the highway, so most tutors arrive by two-wheeler, and gated communities need the tower and flat number for the visitor entry. Office-hour traffic on the highway is the main hazard, so fix the class after it eases or choose a nearby tutor.
Class 11, usually. The mole concept, equilibrium and the first organic chapters come back throughout Class 12, and weak foundations surface a year later in solutions, electrochemistry and conversion questions. Fixing them early makes the board year and entrance preparation lighter and usually costs less.
