Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Senior chemistry is three subjects under one name. Physical chemistry is mostly calculation, organic chemistry is chains of reactions that must be recalled in order, and inorganic chemistry is trends and exceptions. A Bhopal student who is comfortable with one of the three often hides a weakness in another until the pre-boards. A chemistry tutor should find that weak branch early, know what the board and entrance papers ask of it, and fit the lessons around school and coaching. NXTutors sends two or three tutors who suit your child's course and locality, with fees shown first; the first class is a free demo.
The chemistry theory paper (043) lasts three hours and carries 70 marks over 33 compulsory questions in Sections A to E, some with internal choice. Neither calculators nor log tables are allowed, and the 2026-27 sample paper keeps the previous design. Unusually, the curriculum gives marks to each chapter:
Aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids 8; Biomolecules 7; Haloalkanes and haloarenes 6; Alcohols, phenols and ethers 6; Amines 6. Nearly half the paper, so conversion chains should be written from memory every week, starting in the first month.
Electrochemistry 9, the heaviest chapter in the whole paper; Solutions 7; Chemical kinetics 7. Most of these marks come through numericals, so units and significant steps must appear on every line.
The d- and f-block elements 7; Coordination compounds 7. Trends need reasons attached, not just lists.
Roughly 40% of the paper rewards remembering and understanding; the other 60% asks students to apply, analyse or evaluate. Our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide works through every chapter, and the Class 12 chemistry tutor page plans the year. There is one main Class 12 board exam; dates for 2027 will appear on cbse.gov.in.
Old notes passed down from a senior can waste weeks. For 2026-27, the solid state and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block are out of the Class 12 syllabus altogether. Four further topics, surface chemistry, the isolation of elements from ores, polymers, and chemistry in everyday life, are taught and marked in school but never appear on the board paper.
Entrance exams follow their own lists. NTA issues the NEET and JEE Main syllabi separately, and material the board has dropped, including p-block chemistry, may still be examined, so an entrance student should compare the official list before discarding a chapter.
The Board of Secondary Education, Madhya Pradesh sets its own Class 12 chemistry syllabus and question papers, and we keep our advice about it general; exam details should be taken from the board directly. When you ask for a tutor, mention the board and the medium. Chemistry has a heavy vocabulary of names, reagents and reaction types, so a student who writes the exam in Hindi needs a tutor who uses the same terms the textbook uses. Students on the state board who are also preparing for NEET or JEE should keep board-style written answers and timed entrance questions as two separate parts of the week.
NEET (UG) 2026 was one pen-and-paper exam of 180 questions and 720 marks, and chemistry accounted for 45 questions and 180 marks. In JEE Main 2026 Paper 1, chemistry was 25 of the 75 questions: 20 multiple-choice in Section A and 5 numerical-value in Section B. Both exams awarded four marks for a correct answer and deducted one for a wrong one. NTA confirms the pattern each year in its bulletin.
NEET chemistry rewards fast, exact recall of NCERT statements, especially in inorganic and organic chemistry, so tutors quiz directly from the textbook. JEE asks for reaction mechanisms step by step and multi-stage physical chemistry problems. In both cases a chapter should reach board standard before entrance questions on it begin. Our important NEET chemistry chapters, the JEE chemistry guide, the NEET chemistry tutor page and our NEET coaching or home tutor comparison go further.
With two sessions a week, a fortnight gives four lessons. One arrangement that suits most Class 12 students:
| Lesson | Focus | What your child should have afterwards |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The organic chapter the school is teaching, built on reasons rather than rote | A new strip added to the reaction map |
| 2 | Physical chemistry numericals from solutions, electrochemistry or kinetics | Three worked problems with units on every line |
| 3 | Inorganic trends and coordination compounds, with the reason behind each exception | A one-page summary written by the student |
| 4 | A timed section from a sample paper, marked against CBSE's scheme | A list of lost marks and why they were lost |
Entrance students swap part of lesson 4 for timed multiple-choice questions on the same chapters.
Volumetric analysis (titration) and salt analysis carry 8 marks each; a content-based experiment 6; the project 4; and the class record together with the viva 4. In 2026-27 the titration uses potassium permanganate against a standard solution of oxalic acid or Mohr's salt (ferrous ammonium sulphate), which students weigh out and prepare themselves.
The chemicals and glassware stay in the school lab, but a tutor can rehearse the molarity calculation for the weighed solution, the layout of burette readings and the final result, the sequence of preliminary and confirmatory tests in salt analysis with the reason for each, and a manageable project topic. Viva practice helps too: why, for example, a titration with permanganate needs no separate indicator.
Chemistry practice is written work, usually done after school or coaching. Six localities across the city show how the arrangements differ. Compare tutors near you on our Bhopal page.
| Locality | Part of the city | Homes | What to arrange |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bawadiya Kalan | South, between Kolar Road and Hoshangabad Road | Mainly apartment projects, with villas, builder floors and plots | Give the tutor's name to the society office before the first class; in bigger societies, several families sometimes book one tutor on the same evening |
| Tulsi Nagar | Central, beside Shivaji Nagar and TT Nagar | Government housing, independent houses, flats and builder floors | Quote block and quarter number; tutors from TT Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Arera Colony and MP Nagar can all reach it |
| Bagmugaliya | South-east, off Hoshangabad Road | Apartments, independent houses, villas and plots | Security registration in apartment projects; tutors from Katara Hills and Misrod are closest |
| Awadhpuri | East, near the BHEL township | Two- and three-bedroom houses, apartments and villas | Rail and metro do not reach this side, so pick a tutor from Piplani or the bypass colonies and avoid shift-time traffic |
| Kohefiza | North-west, near the Upper Lake | Housing colonies and housing board homes | Mostly doorstep visits with manageable parking; VIP Road links it to Lalghati and Bairagarh |
| Bairagarh | Western edge, near the airport | Family houses in close-set lanes, with newer apartments | Tutors ride in and walk the last stretch; a shop or temple landmark helps, and afternoon slots beat the crowded market evenings |
Bairagarh, officially Sant Hirdaram Nagar, has its own station on the line towards Ujjain. Where a route is unreliable in the pre-board months, two home lessons and one online lesson a week keep the plan steady.
Yes, though fewer than for CBSE, so ask early.
If no specialist can come to you, divide the week between an online specialist and a nearby tutor who checks written answers.
Class 12 leans on Class 11 at every turn. The mole concept feeds solutions and electrochemistry, equilibrium feeds kinetics and electrode potentials, and the first organic chapters set up every reaction mechanism that follows. A student who is shaky on these in Class 11 tends to lose marks a year later without knowing why. The Class 11 chemistry tutor page explains that foundation year, and the national chemistry home tutor page explains how we work in other cities.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor chooses their own rate, which usually rises with the target exam and the tutor's experience of it and also reflects the evening trip to your locality and the number of weekly lessons. Online lessons with the same tutor can cost less. You see all fees before the demo.
Send the class, board and medium, the exam that matters most, the branch where marks are slipping, your locality with a landmark, and the evenings you can offer. We reply with two or three matched chemistry tutors and their fees, and you pick one for a free demo class. A poor match leads to a second demo, and a switch of tutor later is free. Where no suitable tutor can travel to you, we suggest online or mixed lessons. NXTutors works from Sector 66, Gurugram, and runs online lessons across India.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own rate, and all shortlisted fees are shown before the free demo.
Organic chemistry, with 33 of the 70 theory marks, ahead of physical at 23 and inorganic at 14. The single heaviest chapter is electrochemistry at 9, while aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids lead the organic chapters at 8. Weekly conversion practice from the first month pays off.
For 2026-27, the solid state and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block have left the syllabus. Surface chemistry, isolation of elements, polymers and chemistry in everyday life are assessed only in school. NEET and JEE keep their own syllabi, so entrance students should check before dropping anything.
Yes. Mention the Board of Secondary Education, Madhya Pradesh, the class and whether your child writes in Hindi or English. Chemistry is full of names and reagents, so we look for tutors who use the textbook's own terms and take exam details from the board, not from old guidebooks.
In NEET (UG) 2026, chemistry had 45 of the 180 questions, worth 180 of 720 marks. In JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 it had 25 of 75 questions, 20 multiple-choice and 5 numerical-value. Both exams gave four marks for a right answer and took away one for a wrong answer.
In 2026-27, students titrate potassium permanganate against oxalic acid or Mohr's salt and weigh out the standard solution themselves. Titration and salt analysis each carry 8 of the 30 practical marks, so the molarity calculation, a clean table of readings and viva questions are worth practising at home.
Yes. Many families there live in apartment projects, so give the tutor's name to the society office before the first class. Tutors from Shahpura, Arera Colony and the Hoshangabad Road side can reach it, and an evening slot set away from the rush towards Hoshangabad Road is easier to keep.
Yes, with some planning. Homes sit in close-set lanes near the market, so tutors usually ride in and walk the last part; a shop or temple landmark helps on the first visit. The market is crowded in the evening, so an afternoon or early-evening class is easier to keep.
