Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Cambridge IGCSE rewards command words, the right tier and past papers marked strictly, and a tutor who does not work that way will teach the content and still leave marks behind. Bhopal has a smaller number of IGCSE candidates, and many of them pair a local tutor with an online specialist. This page explains the vocabulary of the qualification in plain terms, how tiers cap grades, how the Cambridge science papers are weighted, how the final months before the exam should be spent, which subjects Bhopal families ask about, and how tutors reach each zone. The author is Ajay Vatsyayan, who teaches IB, IGCSE and ISC maths on NXTutors. A fuller account of the papers is in our IGCSE board guide.
The Bhopal tutors page lists CBSE, the state's MP Board, CISCE's ICSE and ISC, and a smaller number of IB and Cambridge IGCSE candidates. We do not put a figure on any group. What our city research does record is how IGCSE students tend to arrange help: a local tutor for regular work and an online specialist for the subject that needs one. With only the first Orange Line section running and the lakes dividing the city, that arrangement is often the practical one.
The Indian boards, broadly, teach a set of subjects from prescribed books and award one combined result, the MP Board in Hindi or English medium. IGCSE treats each subject as a separate qualification with its own syllabus code, tier, papers and grade. Its mark schemes reward specific points and respond to the verb at the start of the question. A Bhopal student arriving from CBSE or the MP Board usually has the content and needs the technique; one from ICSE may need to learn to write less and more precisely.
In Cambridge maths (0580), Core students sit Papers 1 and 3, the first without a calculator, and can reach C to G; Extended students sit Papers 2 and 4 and can reach A* to E. Graphical calculators are not permitted. In the Cambridge sciences, Core allows C to G and Extended A* to G. Edexcel 4MA1 Foundation targets 5 to 1, Higher 9 to 4, and both papers allow a calculator. Schools generally settle tiers during Grade 10, so a borderline student should be working on higher-tier material well before that point. Ask the school when the decision is made.
Edexcel's Physics, Chemistry and Biology (4PH1, 4CH1, 4BI1) are untiered, with two written papers and practical skills tested inside them. The Cambridge versus Edexcel comparison sets the two side by side.
| Period | Risk | Tutor's focus |
|---|---|---|
| Grade 9 | Content looks familiar, so effort drops | New question styles, non-calculator work, topic past papers |
| Grade 10, first half | The tier is decided | Higher-tier topics for borderline students; command words |
| Grade 10, second half | Time runs short, especially with a March entry | Full timed papers, official marking, an error log by cause |
Cambridge builds each syllabus around roughly 130 guided learning hours, which is why a steady weekly rhythm from Grade 9 matters more than a burst at the end.
How long each step lasts depends on the series. A March entry compresses it; a June entry gives more room. Ask the school which series applies and plan backwards from it.
You do not need to sit in on every session to know whether it is useful. Look at the notebook afterwards. A working lesson leaves three things behind: a corrected version of last week's mistakes, worked examples on one topic written the way the exam phrases questions, and two or three past-paper answers with the mark scheme's ticks and crosses beside them. The homework should be short and aimed at one skill, such as five "explain" questions or a set of non-calculator fractions. The tutor's note to you should say what changed since last week, not just what was covered. If a month of notebooks shows explanation but no timed questions and no marking, raise it at once; the shortlist exists so you can move to another tutor without cost.
Cambridge 0606 and Edexcel 4PM1 take algebra, functions and calculus further than the main course. They suit a student whose main maths grade is secure and who enjoys the subject, especially one heading for HL maths in the IB Diploma or for maths-heavy Classes 11 and 12. For a student still fighting for a grade in 0580 or 4MA1, the extra course takes hours from the subject that matters more. The school decides whether either is offered, so ask before building tuition around it.

Home lessons suit Grade 9 and the non-calculator paper, where working is checked line by line. Online sessions suit a specialist who lives far away, provided the tutor sees the working live. Local timing tips are in the south and central Bhopal guide.
You receive two or three matched tutors with their fees before the demo, and switching later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check.

Yes. Bhopal has a smaller number of IGCSE candidates, so send the awarding body, syllabus code, tier, grade and your colony or sector. We search near you first, then across the city. Many IGCSE families here pair a local tutor for regular work with an online specialist for one difficult subject.
They are Cambridge's two tiers. In maths, Core allows grades C to G and Extended A* to E. In the sciences, Core allows C to G and Extended, which adds Supplement content, allows A* to G. Schools usually decide during Grade 10, so a borderline student should work on higher-tier material early.
From three papers: multiple choice, with 40 questions in 45 minutes, worth 30%; theory, 80 marks over an hour and a quarter, worth 50%; and a practical test or alternative-to-practical paper, 40 marks, worth 20%. Each needs its own kind of practice, so a tutor should cover all three.
After the mocks, list the topics and question types that lost most marks, then practise past-paper questions on them, marked against the official scheme. Move to full timed papers in the run-in, and avoid new content in the final week. A March entry compresses this plan compared with June.
Sometimes for content, but IGCSE marks depend on command words, tiers and mark-scheme key points that the Indian boards do not stress in the same way. Ask which IGCSE codes the tutor has taught recently, and at the demo have them mark a past-paper answer against the published scheme.
Yes, by road. In the Old City the tutor usually parks a two-wheeler where the lane narrows and walks in, so give a clear landmark. On Kolar Road there is no metro or rail stop, and many homes are in gated projects, so register the tutor at the gate before the demo.
