Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

A Class 12 student in Ranchi preparing for NEET or JEE often has three chemistry syllabuses running at once: the coaching module, the school timetable and the board paper, which wants written reasons that neither of the other two leaves time to practise. A home chemistry tutor is useful when they tie these together: finding out what was covered this week, checking it has been understood, and writing it up in the form each exam rewards. NXTutors suggests two or three chemistry tutors who know your child's syllabus and can reach your part of Ranchi. Fees are shown before you meet anyone, and the first lesson is a free demo.
The same chapters are marked in very different ways, so a tutor has to know which exam each session is for.
Both NTA exams in 2026 gave four marks for a correct answer and took one away for a wrong one; check the latest bulletin each year. For planning, read our NEET chemistry chapters that matter most, the JEE chemistry guide by branch and our NEET chemistry tutor page.
CBSE fixes chemistry marks chapter by chapter, so a year plan is easy to build. For 2026-27, with the paper design unchanged, the ten theory chapters group like this:
| Branch | Chapters (marks) | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Organic | Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids (8); Biomolecules (7); Haloalkanes and Haloarenes (6); Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers (6); Amines (6) | 33 |
| Physical | Electrochemistry (9); Solutions (7); Chemical Kinetics (7) | 23 |
| Inorganic | The d- and f-Block Elements (7); Coordination Compounds (7) | 14 |
The paper has five lettered sections, a few questions with an internal choice, and no calculators or log tables. Roughly two-fifths of it checks recall and understanding; the rest asks students to apply, analyse or evaluate. Our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide goes chapter by chapter, and the Class 12 chemistry tutor page sets out a board-year plan.
Two areas are no longer in Class 12 at all for 2026-27: the solid state, and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block. Four more are still taught but assessed only by the school: surface chemistry, the isolation of elements, polymers, and chemistry in everyday life. For a coaching student this needs care, because NTA releases the entrance syllabi separately and some material the board has removed, parts of the p-block included, can still appear there. Use the board list for board revision only, and check the official entrance syllabus before crossing anything off.
The home session should follow the coaching chapter rather than run ahead of it, and give each branch the attention a large batch cannot:
The practical marks divide into titration (8), salt analysis (8), an experiment based on the theory syllabus (6), the project (4), and the record together with the viva (4). This session's titration uses potassium permanganate against oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, and every student weighs out and prepares the standard solution. The apparatus stays at school, but at home a tutor can practise the molarity calculation for the weighed sample, a neat table of burette readings, the order of tests in salt analysis from preliminary to confirmatory, a realistic project topic, and favourite viva questions such as why no separate indicator is needed with permanganate.
Four localities on the western and southern sides of the city show the practical differences. See tutors area by area on our Ranchi page.
| Locality | Setting | Getting in | Timing tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Argora | Older houses and gated apartment societies around Argora Chowk, with its own railway station | Societies register visitors at the gate; older lanes allow doorstep arrival | Arrive a little early or book after the office rush on the road to Kathal More |
| Pundag | Newer apartment buildings with three-bedroom flats, plus plotted houses, beside Harmu | Enclaves ask for the tutor's details; share them before the demo | Tutors from Harmu or Argora, by two-wheeler or auto, keep a regular slot most easily |
| Dhurwa | A planned township laid out in sectors, with quarters, houses and newer affordable flats | Wide sector roads make parking and doorstep visits easy; some colonies ask for a sign-in | On cricket match days near the stadium, switch that evening to an online lesson |
| Tupudana | Newer apartment enclaves and plots on the Ranchi–Khunti road, near an industrial area | Homes are spread out, so tutors usually ride their own two-wheeler; enclaves register visitors | For a specialist, pair a local tutor with online sessions |
Specialists for ISC, IB and IGCSE are fewer than CBSE tutors, so ask early. If none can travel to you, combine an online specialist with a local tutor who marks written practice.
Class 12 chemistry rests on Class 11. The mole concept, equilibrium and the first organic chapters return in solutions, electrochemistry and every conversion question, and gaps left there cost marks later in both the board paper and the entrance tests. A term spent on those foundations is usually cheaper than a rescue in the board year. See the Class 11 chemistry tutor page, or the national chemistry home tutor page for how we match in other cities.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor sets a personal rate, which tends to rise with the exam targeted and the tutor's record with it; the evening journey to your locality and the weekly number of sessions also count. Online lessons with the same tutor may be priced lower. You see each fee before the demo.
Send the class, syllabus and main exam, the branch that loses most marks, the coaching days, your locality with a landmark, and the evenings that are free. We reply with two or three chemistry tutors and their fees, and you choose whom to meet for a free demo. A poor first match leads to a second demo, and switching tutor later costs nothing. If nobody suitable can reach you, we propose an online or part-online arrangement. NXTutors is based in Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Rates are set by each tutor, and every shortlisted fee is visible before you book the demo.
Organic chemistry, with 33 of the 70 theory marks across five chapters. Physical chemistry carries 23 and inorganic 14. The single heaviest chapter is electrochemistry at 9, followed by aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids at 8. Practical work adds a further 30 marks, most of them for titration and salt analysis.
By following the coaching chapter rather than racing ahead: slow, line-by-line physical chemistry numericals, a weekly organic reaction map drawn from memory, and short inorganic quizzes taken word for word from NCERT. Each session should end with two board-style reasoning questions so the Class 12 paper keeps pace.
For 2026-27, the solid state and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block are out of Class 12. Surface chemistry, isolation of elements, polymers and chemistry in everyday life are assessed only in school. Entrance syllabi are separate, so check them before dropping anything from NEET or JEE revision.
Yes. We look for tutors who teach from the book the Jharkhand Academic Council prescribes and explain in the language your child writes answers in. The council revises its Intermediate syllabus from time to time, so confirm the current version on its official website before planning revision.
Titration and salt analysis carry 8 marks each, a content-based experiment 6, the project 4, and the record with the viva 4. This session’s titration uses potassium permanganate against oxalic acid or Mohr’s salt, and each student weighs and makes up the standard solution personally.
Yes. Dhurwa is a planned township with wide sector roads, so parking and doorstep visits are easy, although some colonies ask visitors to sign in. Hatia is the nearest station. On cricket match days near the stadium, roads fill up, so an online lesson that evening is sensible.
