Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Yes, NXTutors finds home tutors for families anywhere in Rohini. The search starts from your sector and pocket, not from the name Rohini, because the sub-city is large and the nearest metro line changes from one pocket to the next. Send us the address, the class, board and subject, and whether you want home, online or both. You receive two or three matched tutors, each showing a fee before you commit. Your child's first class is a free demo, and if the fit fades after a few weeks, moving to another tutor is free.
| If your situation is | What to ask for |
|---|---|
| Home a short walk from Rithala, Rohini West or Rohini East | A tutor anywhere along the Red Line; the walk from the platform is the easy part |
| Home near Deepali Chowk or Madhuban Chowk | Red Line tutors, and since March 2026 Magenta Line tutors from the Haiderpur and Prashant Vihar side |
| Northern sector near the Yellow Line | Tutors along the Yellow Line, or from the same northern sectors |
| Outer pocket with no station nearby | A tutor who rides a two-wheeler from a nearby sector, or online sessions |
| Primary-school child | The nearest suitable tutor, so short classes stay short |
| Class 11–12 specialist subject, IB or IGCSE | The right specialist, even from further away or online |
| Wants a woman tutor | Say so on the request; it narrows the shortlist, not the quality |
| Housing type | Tell us: DDA flat, cooperative society, builder floor or village house |
The Delhi Development Authority planned Rohini in the 1980s as a sub-city for several income groups, and that origin still shows in the housing. Four kinds of home make up most of it, and each changes how a tutor arrives.
DDA flats were built in categories such as LIG, MIG, HIG and Janta. They sit in pockets with repeating block letters, so a tutor needs the full address string: sector, pocket, block and flat. Entry is usually straight to the stairwell.
Cooperative group housing societies, run by their own RWAs, are common in sectors such as 9, 13 and 16. These have a boundary wall and a guard, and the visitor routine is set by each society, so two societies on one road can differ.
Builder floors and plotted houses fill much of Sectors 3, 5 and 11 and appear across the sub-city. The tutor rings at a street door, and someone usually comes down to open it.
Older village settlements, such as Rithala in Sector 5 and Naharpur beside Sector 3, predate the planned sectors. Their lanes and numbering follow an older pattern, so a map pin matters more than a written address.
Telling us which of the four you live in is the single most useful line on a request, after the class and subject. It lets a tutor plan the entry, decide whether to bring a vehicle, and judge whether the first visit needs a phone call from the gate.
Reviews of Rohini on property portals raise points that, read with a tutor in mind, turn into simple choices. We paraphrase the themes and do not attribute them to anyone.
The simplest way to judge whether a tutor can reach you reliably is to match their line to yours.
If your pocket is along Bhagwan Mahavir Marg, your line is the Red Line, which ends at Rithala in Sector 5 and runs through Rohini West and Rohini East. If you are by the Outer Ring Road at Sectors 3 or 8, the Magenta Line stations at Deepali Chowk and Madhuban Chowk, opened in March 2026, are also yours. If you are in the north, near Sectors 15 or 16, the Yellow Line at Rohini Sector 18, 19 or Samaypur Badli is usually closer.
A tutor who lives on the same line, or in the next sector, has the most predictable trip. A tutor on a different line can still be the right person, but ask how they would change and how long they expect it to take at your class hour. Do not rely on any travel time we might guess; the tutor knows their own route.
Most station-to-door trips in Rohini end with a walk or an e-rickshaw. Name the station gate or a landmark that is closest to your block.
One thing not to plan around: a Red Line extension beyond Rithala towards Narela appears on OpenStreetMap as proposed, not open.
When the shortlist arrives, compare the tutors on the points that will matter in month three, not only on the first impression.
Then book the free demo with the one or two who fit. If neither feels right after the demo, tell us and we look again.
Before the demo, send the tutor the full address, the entry instruction for your type of home and a phone number that will be answered at the gate. If your society uses a visitor app, add the tutor's name there once so later classes run without a call to the guard.
Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check, and the badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID. You can read how tutor ID checks work. It is not a police or background check, so the ordinary precautions still apply: a parent or another adult at home during the first sessions, the class in a shared room with the door open, and no cash changing hands outside what you have agreed.
If anything about a tutor's conduct worries you, stop the classes and tell us; switching to another tutor costs nothing.
Most Rohini students follow CBSE, and families also ask about ICSE and ISC, with fewer requests for IB or Cambridge IGCSE. In practice, CBSE tutors are the easiest to find close to home; for the other boards, widen the search to more distant sectors or online. In a DDA flat or a builder floor, a quiet table near the door suits a short board-practice session; in a society flat a regular slot keeps the gate routine simple. For a fuller comparison of the boards themselves, see our board comparison guide.
Pick for nearness and patience. A primary tutor from your own or the next sector can keep classes short and frequent. Our primary tutor page covers what to ask at the demo.
Pick for consistency. You want someone who will check the notebook, set a short weekly test and tell you plainly what is slipping.
Pick for board knowledge. The tutor should know the current syllabus and sample papers and plan around school exams. See Class 10 home tutors in Delhi for subject-wise matching.
Pick for subject depth first and distance second. For physics, chemistry, maths or accountancy, a specialist two sectors away, or online, often beats a generalist round the corner. For physics in particular, see physics home tutors in Delhi.
For JEE or NEET, pick a tutor who can align entrance practice with the school syllabus, and check notices only on NTA's site. Our JEE tutor page sets out what a home tutor can and cannot cover.
Good evening slots with Rohini tutors can fill up from the pre-board months onward, so a family that wants a new tutor for a board year should book well before winter. Ask the tutor for a revision plan that ends a little before the board's own date sheet, which you should read only on the board's website. For ICSE and ISC, regulations are on the CISCE site; IB students sit papers in May or November, and Cambridge candidates in the March, June or November series.
Use three questions to decide. Does the child work better with someone beside them? Then home tuition. Is the subject so specialised that no nearby tutor fits, or is the evening already full? Then online. Does the student need group pace and a fixed calendar more than individual attention? Then a centre, perhaps with a home tutor for doubts.
In Rohini the question of travel also matters. A home tutor makes most sense when they live on your metro line or within a short ride; outside that, online saves both of you the commute. Some families settle on a mix, and the free demo lets you try either mode first.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
For a Rohini family, four things usually decide where a tutor sits in that range: the class, the board, how specialised the subject is and the distance the tutor travels. Two classes a week will cost less in total than four, and an online session spares the tutor's travel. Each tutor sets their own fee, and you see it before the free demo, so there are no surprises after the first class.
For a student who works better away from home, NDMC lists the Palika Pustakalaya in its Sector 11 housing complex as a public library open to all on weekdays and most Saturdays. DDA's district parks offer a break between study blocks: Avantika in Sector 1, Chitra Gupta in Sector 14 and Swarn Jayanti in Sector 10.
All eleven Rohini pages are listed on the Rohini zone page, and other parts of the city on the Delhi hub.
Each link opens the Delhi page for that board, subject or class. Tell us you are in Rohini and we look for tutors who can reach you, or teach online.

On NXTutors, Rohini has this general page and you will also find separate pages for many of its sectors, such as Rohini Sector 3, Rohini Sector 9 and Rohini Sector 16; the Rohini zone has eleven pages in all. If your home is in one of those sectors, its own page may show tutors who travel there in particular.
Wherever you are in Rohini, a request brings two or three tutors chosen for your child's class, board and subjects. Tell us the school books, the chapters done and the days that suit you. If your child is preparing for board examinations, mention whether it is CBSE, which conducts the Class 10 and Class 12 papers, or another board.
Students heading towards medicine can ask for NEET support as well, while for a younger child you may want a patient tutor for reading and number work. In either case, ask the tutor how they will keep you informed, and agree a regular weekly time. A steady routine usually does more good than many long sessions squeezed in just before tests. The first class with any suggested tutor is a free demo, so your child can meet them before you agree a plan.
