Rohini is not one neighbourhood but a grid of numbered sectors, each cut into pockets and blocks. For a tutor, the useful way to read the map is in bands, because each band leans on a different metro line and a different kind of entry.
The south-eastern rim meets the Outer Ring Road. Sector 3 is a large sector of pockets mixing DDA flats, builder floors and houses, with Naharpur village beside it. Sector 8 is mainly DDA flats in HIG, MIG and LIG categories. Deepali Chowk station stands where the two sectors meet.
Bhagwan Mahavir Marg carries the Red Line through the older southern sectors. Sector 5 holds Rithala station and Rithala village and has builder floors and plotted houses. Sector 7 is mostly DDA flats first allotted to lower- and middle-income groups. Sector 9 has DDA flats and RWA-run cooperative societies, mostly two- and three-bedroom homes.
North of the spine, Sector 11 mixes DDA flats, builder floors and cooperative societies in several pockets. Sector 13 has low-rise CGHS complexes and independent houses. Sector 16 is densely built, with RWA-run societies and builder floors.
Sector 15, made up largely of DDA flats in several categories, looks to the Yellow Line. Sector 24, further out, is a set of gated pockets of DDA flats and MIG societies, with builder floors between them, and depends on Rithala plus a road leg.
The Rohini overview page, linked below, explains how a family picks a sector-level tutor search; this zone page is about the ground the tutors cover.
Resident reviews of Rohini on property portals return to a few practical themes. We turn each into a planning point for tuition; none is a verdict on any sector or civic body.
Whatever remains is covered by two defaults: you see each tutor's fee on the shortlist before the demo, and a change of tutor later is free.
The Red Line has served Rohini since March 2004. Its western end is Rithala, inside Sector 5. Next come Rohini West, between Sectors 6 and 10 and linked by a skywalk to the mall opposite, then Rohini East at the Sector 8 and Sector 14 edge, and then Madhuban Chowk on the Outer Ring Road, the station earlier called Pitampura.
News reports in 2026 said Rohini East and Rohini West are to be renamed; check the current signage.
The newest link opened on 8 March 2026, when the Magenta Line reached Deepali Chowk from Majlis Park through Bhalaswa, Haiderpur Badli Mor, Haiderpur Village, Uttari Pitampura-Prashant Vihar and Madhuban Chowk. Deepali Chowk, at the Outer Ring Road and Naharpur Village Road, is the end of the line for now. Wikipedia lists the walkway between the Red and Magenta platforms at Madhuban Chowk as still under construction, so a tutor changing lines there should allow extra time. The stretch on to Pushpanjali and Krishna Park Extension is still being built.
Haiderpur Badli Mor, Rohini Sector 18, 19 and Samaypur Badli serve the northern sectors. Haiderpur Badli Mor is also a Magenta Line stop, which gives the north a direct ride to the Outer Ring Road side.
The Outer Ring Road bounds the zone's south-eastern edge and Bhagwan Mahavir Marg runs through its older sectors. We do not quote travel minutes; ask each tutor where they start and which road or line they will use.
Inside Rohini, most tutors finish the trip in one of three ways: on foot from a station in the same sector, by e-rickshaw from the nearest station, or on a two-wheeler from a nearby sector. The main sector roads are easy to follow, but the last few hundred metres inside a pocket are where a visit can stall, so a block number and a landmark matter more than a sector name.
Crossing the zone is the slow part. A tutor living near the Yellow Line in the north and teaching in Sector 3 or 5 used to face a long way round. The Magenta Line now joins Haiderpur Badli Mor to Madhuban Chowk and Deepali Chowk, which opens the Outer Ring Road side to tutors from the north. Until the Madhuban Chowk walkway opens, though, a change to the Red Line there is not a simple platform swap.
For that reason NXTutors looks first for tutors in your own band of sectors and the band next to it, then for tutors who name Rohini in their travel areas, then wider Delhi, then online.
Rohini has four kinds of entry, and each needs a different message to the tutor before the demo.
On safety: tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check, and the badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID; see how we check tutors. It is not a police or background check, so keep the usual home habits: an adult at home for the first classes, and lessons in a shared room. If you would rather have a woman tutor, say so on the request; the woman tutor page for Delhi explains how that search works.
As across Delhi, most Rohini students are on CBSE, and families also ask about ICSE and ISC, with fewer asking about IB or Cambridge IGCSE. What changes from sector to sector is not the board but the setting: a CBSE Class 10 student in a DDA flat and one in a gated society need the same syllabus work, just a different gate routine.
CBSE has moved Class 10 to two board examinations from 2026, the second being optional for improvement, so a Rohini tutor's plan for that year should allow for both sittings. For IB or IGCSE, a tutor from inside the zone may be harder to find than for CBSE, which is when an online tutor for one subject earns its place. For the full side-by-side, read our board comparison guide, and for CBSE-specific tutors see CBSE home tutors in Delhi.
Short, frequent sessions work well, and travel matters most here: a tutor from the same band of sectors keeps a 45-minute class from turning into a two-hour commitment. Ask for reading and number work, and for a tutor who checks the school diary.
Middle school is often the point at which a family adds a tutor for one subject, usually maths or science. Look for someone who builds habits as well as marks: a weekly notebook check, a short test, a clear note to the parent.
Board work begins in earnest. A tutor should know the board's current sample papers and marking pattern, and should plan around school tests. For maths in particular, see maths home tutors in Delhi.
Subject depth matters more than distance. A physics or accountancy specialist from the next band of sectors, or online, is often a better match than a generalist round the corner. Our Class 12 tutor page covers subject-by-subject choices.
Where a student pairs school with entrance preparation, a home tutor can handle doubt-clearing and board alignment, and NTA's own site is the place to check exam notices rather than any forwarded message.
From the winter months through to the board exams, tutors' evening slots in Rohini fill early and roads stay slow, so lock the timetable before school pre-boards begin. Fog mornings and bad-air days can delay a tutor on the Outer Ring Road; agree an online fallback at the same time rather than cancelling. Board dates come only from the board's own website, and ICSE and ISC regulations are on the CISCE site. IB families plan around the May and November sessions, and Cambridge families around the March, June and November series.
Home tuition suits younger children, students who need one-to-one attention and families who want to see the work. In Rohini it works most smoothly when the tutor lives in your band of sectors or on your metro line.
Online tuition suits a specialist subject, a senior student with a fixed evening, or a pocket far from a station. Some families mix the two: a home tutor for the core subject and an online tutor for one paper.
A coaching centre gives a group pace and a fixed syllabus calendar. It suits a self-driven student who needs structure more than attention. If you choose a centre, a home tutor can still cover the questions a group class leaves behind. Whatever you pick, the first NXTutors class is a free demo, so the choice can be tested before you commit.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Within that range, the fee for a Rohini family moves with a few things: the class and board, how specialised the subject is, how many sessions a week, and how far the tutor travels to reach your pocket. A tutor crossing from the Yellow Line side to Sector 3 may price the trip differently from one who walks in from the next block. Online sessions remove the travel part altogether.
Each tutor sets their own fee and it is shown on the shortlist before the demo, so you compare like with like.
Three public options are worth knowing. The Palika Pustakalaya at the NDMC Housing Complex in Sector 11 is listed by NDMC as open to all, Monday to Saturday from late morning to early evening, except the second Saturday and holidays. In G Block of Sector 11, DDA's Aarambh library offers air-conditioned study desks in shifts for a monthly fee. For a walk between study blocks, Swarn Jayanti Park in Sector 10 is a DDA district park known for its Japanese garden.
For every zone and area in the city, see the Delhi tutors hub.
AI-first tutoring, with real teachers
You tell us the class, board, subject and where in Rohini you live. Our AI does the slow part of the search and returns two or three tutors who fit, not a long list to scroll. You see each tutor's fee before the free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Where AI stops and people start
For home tuition the sector number says a lot. The older southern sectors such as 7 and 8, and Sector 15 to the north, are dominated by DDA flats of several categories; Sectors 9, 13 and 16 have many RWA-run cooperative societies; Sector 3, one of the largest, runs in pockets 3A to 3G; Sector 5 has larger three- and four-bedroom builder floors; Sector 11 mixes all three; and outer Sector 24 is gated pockets of DDA flats and MIG societies.
Three metro lines touch Rohini, and which one a tutor uses depends on your pocket. In the south, the Red Line ends at Rithala in Sector 5 and has the renamed Rohini station where Sectors 8 and 14 meet. The north is Yellow Line country, with the Sector 18, 19 station and Samaypur Badli. The newest option, from March 2026, is the Magenta Line along the Outer Ring Road, stopping at Deepali Chowk and Madhuban Chowk. Outer Sector 24 depends on Rithala and a road leg. The Outer Ring Road and the main sector roads are slow in the evening, which matters most for tutors who drive.
NXTutors searches Rohini sector by sector: tutors in your own or an adjacent sector first, then tutors who list Rohini among the places they travel to, then the rest of Delhi, then online. Two or three tutors are matched, each fee visible before the free demo, and a later change is free. Include your pocket as well as the sector, because the same block letters recur across the sub-city, and say whether you live in a society, a DDA pocket or a builder floor. With that, a tutor can plan the metro leg and the entry before the first class.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.
| Classes a week | Classes a month | At ₹800 an hour | At ₹2,500 an hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 8 | ₹6,400 a month | ₹20,000 a month |
| 3 | 12 | ₹9,600 a month | ₹30,000 a month |
In a coaching batch, one teacher's hour is shared by many students, so each family pays for a part of it. At home the whole hour is your child's: the pace, the questions and the homework check follow one student, and the tutor's travel to your home is part of the working day. A small group of two or three children from the same society usually costs less per child, with less individual attention.
Open your sector or society for the tutors nearest to it.
The Rohini zone on NXTutors covers the Rohini overview page and Sectors 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16 and 24. Each sector page explains its own stations, housing and entry routine. If your sector is not listed, still send the request: we match tutors who travel to that part of Rohini, or online tutors.
To get a home tutor in any Rohini sector, send NXTutors your sector, pocket, child's class, board and subject. We suggest two or three matched tutors for your Rohini sector, each with the fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo at home or online, and switching to a different tutor later is free.
Home tuition fees in the Rohini zone are set by each tutor and shown on the shortlist before you book. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Class, subject and travel move the figure.
Yes, you can ask for a woman tutor for any sector in the Rohini zone when you send the request. We then match women tutors who travel to your band of sectors or teach online. Tutors who join go through an ID check, and an adult at home for the first classes is still sensible.
Deepali Chowk opened on the Magenta Line on 8 March 2026, and Madhuban Chowk, the former Pitampura Red Line station, became a Magenta stop at the same opening. Deepali Chowk sits at the Sector 3 and Sector 8 corner. The section links the Outer Ring Road side of Rohini with Haiderpur Badli Mor.
A tutor can use both lines at Madhuban Chowk, but Wikipedia lists the connecting walkway between the Red and Magenta platforms as still under construction. Until it opens, changing lines there is slower than a platform swap. A tutor coming to the Rohini zone that way should leave a little extra time.
For a Rohini student in Class 9, a home tutor suits a child who needs attention and habits, while coaching suits one who needs pace and a group. Some families start with a home tutor for maths or science and decide on coaching after the first term. The free NXTutors demo lets you test the home option first.
Yes, but CBSE is far more common in the Rohini zone, so ICSE, IB and IGCSE tutors may come from further away or teach online. Mention the board and the exact subject level on your request. We then match tutors who teach that board, and you can try each one through a free demo.
The northern Rohini sectors, especially 15 and 16, usually look to the Yellow Line at Rohini Sector 18, 19, Samaypur Badli or Haiderpur Badli Mor. The southern sectors along Bhagwan Mahavir Marg use the Red Line. Your pocket decides which station is closer, so share it when you book.
Yes, home tuition is available in the village settlements inside or beside Rohini, such as Rithala in Sector 5 and Naharpur beside Sector 3. Lanes there can be hard to follow, so send a map pin and a landmark. Tutors from the nearby sectors usually reach them by e-rickshaw or two-wheeler.
Across the Rohini zone, slots just before or well after the evening rush on the Outer Ring Road and Bhagwan Mahavir Marg tend to start on time. Weekend mornings are also easy. In winter, keep an online fallback for fog or bad-air days rather than cancelling a class.
For a maths tutor at home in Rohini, name the class, board and topics, and NXTutors searches your own and nearby sectors first. For Classes 11 and 12 or entrance maths, a specialist may come from further away or teach online. Each option starts with a free demo.
Yes, Sector 11 has the Palika Pustakalaya at the NDMC Housing Complex, which NDMC lists as open to all from Monday to Saturday. DDA's Aarambh study library in G Block, Sector 11 charges a monthly fee per shift. Both suit a student who studies better away from home.
The southern sectors, such as 3, 5, 7, 8 and 9, are Red Line territory, with Rithala inside Sector 5. Sectors 15 and 16 in the north look to the Yellow Line at the Sector 18, 19 station or Samaypur Badli. Sectors 3 and 8 can also use the new Magenta Line stops at Deepali Chowk and Madhuban Chowk.
In cooperative societies, usually. The CGHS societies common in Sectors 9, 13 and 16 register visitors, so add the tutor to the list. DDA pockets are generally open, so a tutor can head straight to the flat, while in builder floors someone may have to come down and unlock the street door.
A little. It is one of the outer sectors, and the metro is not on its doorstep: Rithala on the Red Line is the usual link, followed by an e-rickshaw, or tutors come by two-wheeler. Many pockets have a guard at the entrance, so pass on the tutor's details beforehand.
Tutors decide their own fees and list them on their profiles, which you see before booking the free demo. Primary-school lessons usually cost less than senior-school, IB or IGCSE work, and entrance-level teaching sits at the upper end. You compare two or three tutors before deciding whom to continue with.
