Teach in Karol Bagh, Patel Nagar & Rajinder Nagar See tuition jobs in Delhi →Not sure which tutor fits? Tell us the class, board and your sector: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo.
Book a free demo classYes. NXTutors arranges home tutors across this whole Central Delhi zone, from the market blocks of Karol Bagh and the two Rajinder Nagars on either side of Shankar Road to East and West Patel Nagar further west. Send us the area, block and floor, with the class, board and subject. We reply with two or three matched tutors, each with the fee on view before you book; the first class is a free demo at home or online, and moving to another tutor later costs nothing.
The zone is small enough that one metro line runs right through it, which shapes nearly everything below. It sits within our Delhi home tuition hub.

Walk from east to west along the Blue Line and the zone changes character three times.
Karol Bagh took in villagers moved out of the Connaught Place site in the 1920s, and Partition refugees, many of them traders, after 1947. Its residential pockets, W.E.A., Beadon Pura, Reghar Pura, Dev Nagar and Bapa Nagar, are woven through shopping streets such as Ajmal Khan Road, Bank Street and Tank Road. Homes are builder floors, older houses and standalone buildings, often above shops.
South of Karol Bagh, Rajinder Nagar was built in the 1950s for Punjabi refugee families and is cut in two by Shankar Road. The old side, next to Karol Bagh, has grown into a busy coaching district for adult government-exam candidates, so family floors share buildings with student tenants and reading libraries. The new side reaches towards the Central Ridge and Connaught Place, with Nehru Park at its centre and Talkatora Stadium a short walk away.
Patel Nagar was developed on land acquired from Shadipur, Khampur and nearby villages and is divided into East, West and South Patel Nagar. Property listings show mostly builder floors on residential plots. East Patel Nagar adjoins Rajendra Place, and West Patel Nagar runs out towards Baljit Nagar, with Baba Farid Puri and Anand Parbat to its north.
Across all three parts the common thread is the front door: no society desk, no visitor app, and a tutor who arrives at a street entrance and climbs a stair.
Reviews on property portals for Karol Bagh and Old Rajinder Nagar point to the same few concerns, and most of them apply across the zone. We treat each as a timing or planning question.
Every station in the zone is on the Blue Line, all elevated and all opened on 31 December 2005. In order from east to west:
One stop past Shadipur, Kirti Nagar connects to the Green Line, and Karol Bagh residents also mention Shastri Nagar on the Red Line to the north. The Blue Line itself runs from Dwarka in the west, through Rajouri Garden and Janakpuri, to Rajiv Chowk, Noida and the Vaishali branch in the east, so a tutor living almost anywhere along it can reach the zone with no change of train.
By road, Pusa Road runs along the south of Karol Bagh, Shankar Road divides the two Rajinder Nagars, and Patel Road carries traffic west towards Kirti Nagar. We do not give travel minutes; they swing too much with the hour.
Because the five areas sit on one straight line of stations, a tutor already teaching in one of them can often add a lesson in a neighbouring one on the same afternoon, one or two stops away. That is the steadiest arrangement for three or more lessons a week.
When you ask, name your area and the station nearest your door. It changes which tutors we put first.
Without society gates, the arrival plan is your job. For any home in the zone, send the area and block, house number, floor, which bell to press, and one landmark from the list above. In Old Rajinder Nagar say which entrance is the family's, since tenants may share the stair; in Karol Bagh, say whether the door is beside a shop; in Patel Nagar, a plot number and map pin usually do it.
Keep a parent or another adult at home for a younger child's lessons, and teach in a room on your own floor rather than a shared landing.
Families who prefer a woman tutor can say so in the request; see female home tutors in Delhi. Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check, a one-time code plus a government photo ID reviewed by our team; read how we check tutors. It is not a police or background check, so judge the tutor at the demo as well.
Families in this zone mostly ask us about CBSE, then ICSE and ISC, with a smaller number of IB and IGCSE students. For CBSE, a tutor works from the NCERT books and the sample papers on cbseacademic.nic.in; for ICSE and ISC, from the CISCE syllabus and its prescribed texts, which you should hand over in the first week. In builder-floor homes, siblings on two different boards often share one tutor slot, so tell us both boards. Where the specialist for a less common board lives outside the zone, the Blue Line or an online lesson closes the gap. For how the boards compare, see our board comparison guide.
Short, frequent lessons in the quietest room of the floor. Early afternoon tends to work better than late evening, when the market streets and coaching lanes are at their loudest.
One tutor for Maths and Science, with English added if written work is weak; an English home tutor in Delhi can also help with grammar and reading for ICSE students, whose language papers lean heavily on set texts.
Two or three lessons a week of about ninety minutes, each ending in a timed question. For CBSE Class 10 there is now an optional second sitting after the main exam, but plan the year for the first.
One specialist per subject is the norm. For a physics tutor at home or a chemistry or maths specialist with entrance experience, the zone's metro line widens the choice well beyond the five areas.
Board exams fall early in the year; take dates only from cbse.gov.in, cisce.org, ibo.org and cambridgeinternational.org. Locally, plan around two calendars that are not your child's: festival crowds in the Karol Bagh markets, including a long-running Durga Puja celebration, and the adult coaching calendar in Old Rajinder Nagar. Fix revision lessons in the quietest weeks and keep online slots ready for the rest. In East and West Patel Nagar, which sit away from the main market and coaching streets, the local calendar matters less, and an afternoon revision slot is usually easy to keep through the winter months.
Home lessons keep a child off crowded streets and let parents see the work; in this zone they suit younger children most, because the trip to any centre means crossing busy market or coaching lanes. Online lessons are the fix for rain, festival weeks and far-away specialists, and they also suit older students who already travel to classes in the evening and need a short, focused session at home without another journey. Coaching centres are plentiful in this busy coaching district, but many serve adult exam candidates; for a school student, choose a batch only if it follows the school board, and add a home tutor for the weakest subject.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Each tutor fixes a rate, and you can read it on the shortlist ahead of the demo. Class, board, number of subjects, lesson length and frequency, entrance work and travel all move the figure. In this zone, a tutor who rides the Blue Line has lower travel effort than one who drives and searches for parking.
AI-first tutoring, with real teachers
You tell us the class, board, subject and where in Karol Bagh, Patel Nagar & Rajinder Nagar you live. Our AI does the slow part of the search and returns two or three tutors who fit, not a long list to scroll. You see each tutor's fee before the free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Where AI stops and people start
Karol Bagh's residential pockets, such as the WEA blocks, Beadon Pura, Dev Nagar and Bapa Nagar, are builder floors, older houses and low-rise flats set between busy shopping streets. Old Rajinder Nagar, on the Karol Bagh side of Shankar Road, is a major civil services coaching hub with hostels and libraries among family homes, while New Rajinder Nagar across the road is greener, with blocks laid out around parks. East and West Patel Nagar are mostly builder floors on residential plots. None of it has society desks; entry is at the building door.
Since the end of 2005 the Blue Line has tied the zone together: Karol Bagh and Rajendra Place stations serve the markets and the two Rajinder Nagars, while Patel Nagar and Shadipur cover West Patel Nagar. A tutor coming by metro can usually walk to the door. Driving is where the trouble starts. Parking is scarce, the main market streets peak at weekends, and the coaching lanes stay busy with students well into the evening. That is why weekday lessons are usually calmer than weekend ones here, and why a tutor who lives on the Blue Line can be a better fit than a nearer one who drives.
NXTutors matches this zone nearest first: tutors living in Karol Bagh, Rajinder Nagar or Patel Nagar, then tutors who travel here, then the rest of Delhi, then online. With four Blue Line stations inside the zone, a tutor living elsewhere on that line can be a practical choice. You receive two or three options, each fee shown before the free demo, and switching later is free. Because many floors are let to students, give the exact floor, the bell and a landmark when you ask, so the tutor finds the family and not a rented room on another storey.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.
| Classes a week | Classes a month | At ₹800 an hour | At ₹2,500 an hour |

| 2 | 8 | ₹6,400 a month | ₹20,000 a month |
| 3 | 12 | ₹9,600 a month | ₹30,000 a month |
In a coaching batch, one teacher's hour is shared by many students, so each family pays for a part of it. At home the whole hour is your child's: the pace, the questions and the homework check follow one student, and the tutor's travel to your home is part of the working day. A small group of two or three children from the same society usually costs less per child, with less individual attention.

In the Karol Bagh, Patel Nagar and Rajinder Nagar zone, a home tutor suits most school children better, because many nearby centres serve adult exam candidates. A batch fits only if it follows the school board and the child learns well in a group.
The zone is served by five Blue Line stations: Jhandewalan, Karol Bagh, Rajendra Place, Patel Nagar and Shadipur. Kirti Nagar, one stop west, adds the Green Line, so tutors from much of Delhi can arrive without driving. Tell us which station is closest to your door when you ask.
Families in Karol Bagh and Patel Nagar mostly ask about CBSE, then ICSE and ISC, with fewer IB and IGCSE students. Name the board when you ask, and mention a sibling's board too if both will share a tutor slot.
Yes, home tuition in Patel Nagar is available from nursery to Class 12, in East and West Patel Nagar alike. Tutors usually come by metro to Rajendra Place, Patel Nagar or Shadipur, and online lessons are available for specialist subjects.
Yes, NXTutors matches home tutors for New Rajinder Nagar, usually tutors who come by Blue Line to Rajendra Place. Share your block and a landmark such as Nehru Park, and the class and subject, to get two or three options.
Yes, physics, chemistry and maths specialists teach Class 11 and 12 students across Karol Bagh, Patel Nagar and Rajinder Nagar, at home or online. Say whether an entrance test is part of the plan, because it changes the pace and practice.
Evenings can be slow in Karol Bagh and Old Rajinder Nagar, because market shoppers and adult students fill the streets then. Weekday afternoons and weekend mornings are usually calmer, and a tutor who comes by metro copes better with a late slot.
No gate pass is needed in most of Karol Bagh, Patel Nagar and Rajinder Nagar, since homes are builder floors and houses without society desks. Instead, send the floor, bell, house number and a landmark so the tutor finds the right door.
Yes, one tutor can often teach siblings on different boards in Karol Bagh or Patel Nagar, especially in the lower classes. Tell us both boards and classes at the start; for board years, two specialists on different days usually work better.
If the first tutor does not suit your child in Rajinder Nagar or Patel Nagar, tell NXTutors and we suggest another; switching is free. You can also return to one of the other tutors you met at the free demos.
It works with planning. The lanes near the main coaching stretch stay busy with students into the evening and parking is tight, so tutors usually arrive by metro from Karol Bagh or Rajendra Place and walk. If your lane faces the busiest stretch, an afternoon slot or an online session avoids the crowd.
It lies between Shankar Road and the Central Ridge and is quieter, with green blocks and several parks, including a large central park. Homes are mostly houses and floors, street parking is easier to find than in Karol Bagh, and Rajendra Place station on the Blue Line is the nearest metro.
No. East and West Patel Nagar are mostly builder floors on residential plots, so there is no society gate. Share the floor number and a landmark for the first visit. Rajendra Place is handiest for much of East Patel Nagar, while Patel Nagar and Shadipur stations serve the western side.
Tell NXTutors and we suggest someone else; switching tutor is free. You start with two or three matched tutors, a free demo with each and fees shown on their profiles in advance, so you can also return to another tutor you met during the demos.
