Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Yes. A tutor can teach your child at home in Main Sagarpur, West Sagarpur or Sagarpur East, and online lessons are there when a specialist lives far off. Message NXTutors with the class, board, subject and your gali, and we come back with two or three matched tutors, fees included. You pay nothing for the first lesson, which is a demo, and nothing to change tutor later.
Sagarpur is in the Vasant Kunj, Vasant Vihar and Palam zone of Delhi. It is a busy residential area strung along Pankha Road between Delhi Cantonment and Janakpuri, with no metro station inside it. That one fact, the auto ride from the station, shapes most of the planning in this guide.
| What | Sagarpur |
|---|---|
| Zone | Vasant Kunj, Vasant Vihar and Palam |
| Parts | Main Sagarpur, West Sagarpur and Sagarpur East, with numbered galis |
| Housing | Builder floors, independent houses and standalone buildings, from single rooms to four-bedroom floors, plus a few small apartment blocks |
| Main road | Pankha Road, on the way from Delhi Cantonment to Janakpuri; Sagarpur–Palam Road towards Palam |
| Metro | None inside; Dashrathpuri and Dabri Mor–Janakpuri South (Magenta Line) are the usual stations, then an auto or e-rickshaw |
| Rail | Delhi Cantonment railway station |
| Markets and landmarks | The main market street, Main Sagarpur Sabzi Mandi, Nagar Van Park, Sai Baba temple in Sagarpur East, Baba Balak Nath Mandir |
Sagarpur grew up on Pankha Road, the road that runs from Delhi Cantonment towards Janakpuri. Delhi's State Election Commission maps it as a ward of its own, 31-S, with the Dabri and Manglapuri wards on the same sheet, and its post office uses the 110046 PIN code. In the assembly it falls in the Dwarka seat, having earlier been part of Nasirpur.
On the ground the area divides into Main Sagarpur, West Sagarpur and Sagarpur East, and inside each part the lanes are known by gali numbers. Most homes are builder floors or independent houses, joined by standalone buildings and a few small apartment blocks, in sizes from one room to four bedrooms. Portals also list paying-guest rooms in the area.
Daily life centres on the markets. The main market is the commercial street, with food stalls and small shops, and the Main Sagarpur Sabzi Mandi supplies vegetables. Nagar Van Park is the local green space, and reviewers mention many temples, including a Sai Baba temple in Sagarpur East, a Radha Krishna Mandir and the Baba Balak Nath Mandir.
For a tutor, all this means a door on a gali rather than a gate, and a home where the quiet room may be at the back or on an upper floor. In a building with shops below, the rooms above the street can be noisy in the evening, so pick the room furthest from the lane for lessons.
Resident reviews on property portals give a clear picture of Sagarpur's daily rhythm. Each point has a tuition angle.
Beyond these local points, parents ask the usual questions: will the tutor be regular, do they know the board, and when is online the better option?
Sagarpur has no metro station of its own. The closest stations are on the Magenta Line: Dashrathpuri, which opened on 29 May 2018 at a local market, and Dabri Mor–Janakpuri South, one stop towards Janakpuri West. Property portals put both somewhat under two kilometres from Sagarpur, far enough that most people finish the trip by auto or e-rickshaw. A tutor on the Blue Line can change at Janakpuri West, ride one stop to Dabri Mor and take an auto from there.
Two other lines are within reach for tutors coming from further away. Portals list Tilak Nagar on the Blue Line at about five kilometres and Delhi Cantt on the Pink Line at a similar distance. Delhi Cantonment railway station is a few kilometres off as well.
Most tutors will use Pankha Road, the area's main road with bus stops along it, or Sagarpur–Palam Road from the Palam side. Portal listings also name Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg and Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg in Sagarpur East.
We do not quote travel minutes, because Pankha Road varies so much through the day. Ask each tutor which station they will use and how they will cover the last stretch, then give them a landmark at your end: the main market, the Sabzi Mandi or a temple near your gali.
Homes in Sagarpur open onto numbered galis, so the tutor comes to your door without a society gate. The gali number is the key part of the address. Send it with the part of Sagarpur (Main, West or East), the house number, the floor and a nearby landmark, plus a map pin. Some galis look alike, and a tutor following only a house number can lose part of the free demo.
If you live above a shop or in a building with tenants on other floors, tell the tutor which entrance and which bell to use. For a small apartment block, say whether the stair door is kept locked.
An adult should stay at home for each lesson with a young child, with the study room open. Should you want a woman tutor, add a line to that effect and we search for one who travels to Sagarpur or teaches online; see female home tutors in Delhi.
Joining NXTutors means a one-time code by phone or email plus a government photo ID that our team goes through. This confirms identity only; it is not a police or background check, as the tutor ID check page sets out. The demo itself is where you judge the teaching.
Families in Sagarpur mostly ask about CBSE, with ICSE now and then and very few IB or IGCSE requests, which we usually meet online. For CBSE, the tutor should teach from NCERT and set practice from the sample papers on cbseacademic.nic.in. Our CBSE home tuition in Delhi page has more.
In a floor where siblings share one study table, the tutor often teaches two children one after the other. Tell us both classes in the request. And say which language your child answers in, Hindi or English, since that decides the notes. The full four-board comparison is in our guide to choosing a board.
Early lessons are about reading, writing and counting with confidence. Keep them short and regular. In a busy home, choose the same time each day so the child knows the lesson is coming, and switch off the television in that room.
Maths moves from arithmetic to algebra and geometry, and Science gets its first formulas. A home maths tutor in Delhi who also covers Science is a common choice. Ask the tutor to keep a mistakes notebook your child can revise from.
These middle years are also when homework starts to take longer than the school day suggests. A tutor who visits two or three times a week can check that homework is being done properly, not just finished, and can tell you early if a topic from Class 6 is still shaky before it holds up the Class 8 chapters that build on it.
The board pattern starts to matter in Class 9. Lessons of around 90 minutes, a few times a week, give room for teaching and timed practice. In Class 10, ask for a full paper each month and a short review of where marks were lost.
Each main subject now needs its own tutor. For engineering entrance, JEE home tuition in Delhi can sit beside board lessons; JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency, and its notices are on nta.ac.in. If your child travels to a centre in the evening, keep one weekend morning for the home lesson, before the main market gets busy.
Board papers for CBSE and CISCE students come in the first months of the calendar year; take dates only from cbse.gov.in and cisce.org, and entrance dates from nta.ac.in. Because the metro is an auto ride away, extra exam-month sessions are easier to arrange if some of them are online. Book the extra hours with the tutor early, before their evenings fill.
A home tutor saves your child the Pankha Road trip and the auto ride to the metro, which counts for more here than in colonies with a station next door. You also see each lesson for yourself.
Online lessons skip the last stretch for the tutor too. They suit rain days, exam weeks and senior specialist subjects. See online tuition across Delhi.
Coaching centres in Janakpuri are reachable by road or by metro from Dabri Mor, but the evening return along Pankha Road can be slow. A frequent pattern in this area is home lessons for the school syllabus, with a centre or an online teacher kept for the one entrance subject.
If your child does attend a centre, share its weekly timetable with the home tutor. That way the home lessons can go on school tests, homework and the chapters your child found hard, instead of repeating the centre's material, and the week does not end up with two people teaching the same topic in different ways.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. You see each tutor's rate on the shortlist before you book a demo.
Class, board and subject set the base; the length of each lesson and the number of weekly sessions do the rest. Travel matters too. A tutor from Dabri, Mahavir Enclave or Palam may only have a short ride; one who rides the metro and then an auto, or crosses Pankha Road at peak hours, may prefer fewer, longer lessons. When comparing quotes, add up the hours for the month and ask how missed or extra lessons are charged.
The main market is where Sagarpur's evenings and weekends get loud. If your gali opens near it, set lessons for weekday afternoons or early evenings, and avoid Saturday evenings when reviewers describe the crowding at its peak. For quiet study, we found no public library in Sagarpur; Nagar Van Park is the nearest green space for a short break, and a back room at home stays the main place to work.
Each link opens the Delhi page for that board, subject or class. Tell us you are in Sagarpur and we look for tutors who can reach you, or teach online.

Help for your child in Sagarpur can start with one tricky subject. Maybe it is Maths after a poor test, English writing, or Science in Class 9. Whatever the reason, tell us plainly, along with the class and board, and NXTutors will propose two or three tutors. Each tutor's fee is on view ahead of the first class, which is a free demo.
On NXTutors, Sagarpur belongs to the Vasant Kunj, Vasant Vihar & Palam zone, listed alongside Dabri, Palam and Munirka. A tutor who teaches on one of those pages may be happy to teach in Sagarpur too, so read their cards and ask about timing.
If no tutor is listed for Sagarpur itself yet, you will still see tutors here. The page shows anyone who lives in or travels to Sagarpur first, then teachers linked to the remaining zone pages, then other Delhi localities, then home tutors whose base is Ghaziabad, and online tutors after that. Each card carries a one-line reason. During the demo, watch whether your child asks questions freely; that is a good sign the tutor is listening. Keep the school books and a list of finished chapters ready for the first visit.
