What home tuition costs in Bareilly

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

ICSE and ISC home tutors in Bareilly: written answers in English, internal work on time, electives chosen early

In Bareilly, where the UP Board runs one of its regional offices, ICSE and ISC families follow a different council, and that shapes how tuition works. CISCE wants full written answers in English in nearly every paper, sets Class 10 physics, chemistry and biology as three separate papers, gives one group of subjects half its marks from school-assessed work, and in Classes 11 and 12 makes practicals and projects compulsory. A tutor who knows the council's style well may not live close to every colony, so families often combine a nearby tutor with an online specialist. Below you will find how the council's route is put together, the points where a tutor changes marks, how ISC can sit beside entrance work, how tutors reach colonies in the north and east of the city, and what to test in the free demo. Abhinandan Tiwary contributed the ICSE maths advice, Aaditya Kashyap the science advice and Ajay Vatsyayan the ISC maths advice.

CISCE among Bareilly's boards

Bareilly families choose among the UP Board, CBSE and CISCE. The UP Board has had a regional office in the city since 1981, and its own website notes that a few secondary schools in Uttar Pradesh are governed by CISCE instead. We have no reliable figures for each board's share, so we publish none. The contrast is what matters for tuition. The UP Board writes its syllabus files in Hindi and, in Intermediate maths, sets one 100-mark paper. CISCE works from its own prescribed texts, expects long English answers, keeps internal marks in most subjects and, after every exam season, releases an Analysis of Pupil Performance that shows where marks were dropped. Before a tutor with a state-board background takes on an ICSE child, ask them to show that they can mark to the council's standard.

The three ICSE subject groups

ICSE Class 10 groups, from the council's regulations
GroupSubjectsPaper : school-assessed
I (all candidates)English; a second language; History, Civics & Geography80 : 20
II (choose two or three)Options such as Mathematics, Science, Economics, Commercial Studies, Environmental Science and foreign or classical languages80 : 20
III (choose one)An applied subject, for example Computer Applications, Economic Applications, Commercial Applications, Art or Physical Education50 : 50

Because the Group III subject takes half its marks from school-assessed work, treat it as a project calendar rather than an exam: a date for each stage across Class 9 and Class 10, checked at the start of each month. Left to the final term, those marks slip away for no good reason.

One maths paper, three science papers

Mathematics is examined in one 80-mark paper, and the other 20 marks come from two or more assignments that the school teacher and an external examiner both mark. Commercial arithmetic, including banking and shares, sits in the same syllabus as algebra, trigonometry, geometry and statistics. Examiners credit the working at each stage, so a tutor must check the steps as closely as the answer.

Physics, Chemistry and Biology are separate papers of 80, each with 20 marks of school practical work. Doing well in chemistry does nothing for a weak biology paper. Settle early whether one tutor can carry all three or whether the weakest deserves a specialist of its own, and use the council's specimen papers and its subject reports as the reference.

Long answers in English, in every subject

If your child speaks Hindi at home and studies in English at school, that is no obstacle in the ICSE papers, but it changes what a tutor must check. A physics or history answer can be correct in substance and still lose marks for a muddled sentence or a missing term. A good ICSE tutor reads every answer twice: once for the subject and once for the English. Useful habits are a short glossary per chapter, with the exact terms the textbook uses; full-sentence answers from Class 6 onward; and one timed long answer in each session, written by hand. The tutor can explain in Hindi when that is quicker, but the written answer should always be in clear English. Our English tutors in Bareilly page covers set texts and writing.

ISC ground rules for Classes 11 and 12

  • How many subjects: English is compulsory; add between three and five electives, six subjects at most.
  • When choices lock: once a date in the Class 11 registration year passes, the subject list is fixed, and a Class 12 subject must have been studied in Class 11.
  • Moving into Class 12: 35% in four subjects including English, together with 75% attendance.
  • Practical work: required wherever a subject has it; Physics and Engineering Science are not allowed together.
  • The certificate: grades 1 to 9; passing needs four subjects with English, plus Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service.

In both ISC years, maths is an 80-mark theory paper plus 20 marks for a project. More detail sits on our ISC maths tutor page and in the ICSE and ISC maths guide.

ISC with JEE or NEET on the side

An ISC science student with an entrance exam in view is working to two calendars. The council's texts take topics in their own order, while entrance material mostly follows NCERT, so a chapter can turn up in school long before or after it turns up in entrance practice. Early in Class 11, ask the tutor to draw one page that pairs every ISC chapter with its NCERT counterpart and shows when each is due. From then on the tutor fills gaps in both directions: NCERT phrasing and quick objective drills where ISC treats a topic lightly, and long answers, practicals and projects where entrance work would neglect them. Read JEE home tutors in Bareilly and NEET home tutors in Bareilly.

Stages of the CISCE route

Classes 6 to 8

Only school tests, so this is the time for habits: whole sentences, maths written line by line, precise science vocabulary.

Classes 9 and 10

One ICSE course spread over two years. Rotate older chapters back into revision, begin timed writing early and keep the internal-work calendar.

Classes 11 and 12

Electives fixed early, promotion conditions in Class 11, then theory plus practical and project work in every elective.

Bareilly subject pages for CISCE families

The council as a whole is described on our ICSE and ISC board hub, and our board and stream guide helps with choices for Class 11.

Six colonies, and how tutors find them

  • Model Town: on the Stadium Road side; write "Model Town, Bareilly" with the street and house number, since a tutor new to the city may mix it up with Model Towns elsewhere.
  • Rajendra Nagar: near the Mini Bypass and Karamchari Nagar; give block, house number and a park or crossing.
  • Ekta Nagar: beside DD Puram; Ekta Nagar Park and the lane number are the clearest pointers.
  • CB Ganj: in the northern belt; a local tutor for maths and science plus an online ISC elective specialist is a common mix.
  • Mahanagar Colony: along Pilibhit Bypass Road; start directions at the bypass and name the nearest colony entrance.
  • Green Park: on the east side; say which of the three Green Park colonies you live in.

Timing tips for each belt are on the Rajendra Nagar and DD Puram, Izatnagar and CB Ganj and Pilibhit Bypass and Bisalpur Road zone pages and in the Bareilly home tuition guide.

The Class 11 choice: ISC, CBSE or UP Board Intermediate

At the end of ICSE, a Bareilly family normally has three options. ISC continues the council's long-answer style, goes deeper in each elective and adds more practical and project work. CBSE switches to NCERT books and the board's sample papers, with shorter answers that stay close to the textbook; maths and science knowledge transfers well. UP Board Intermediate brings the board's Hindi syllabus files and, in maths, a single paper with no internal share, so read the files on upmsp.edu.in and our UP Board tutors in Bareilly page before deciding. For CBSE, see CBSE home tutors in Bareilly. ISC subjects lock early in Class 11, so make the call before term begins.

A visit or a screen for ICSE?

Up to Class 10, maths and the three sciences are worth a tutor at the table, since examiners mark line by line. Screen lessons work for an ISC elective or for literature when the specialist lives elsewhere in Bareilly or in another city, for brief checks just before exams, and for the eastern colonies, where fewer tutors may live close by. In online maths or science, insist that the tutor can watch the working as it happens, through a stylus tablet, a shared board or a phone camera above the page. Our online tutors for Bareilly page explains the set-up.

Five tests for an ICSE tutor in the demo

  1. Ask which year's specimen paper and council report they rely on.
  2. Watch a maths explanation: are steps, units and a clear final statement all required?
  3. Show an answer that is correct but badly written. Does the tutor fix the English as well?
  4. Ask how the Group III project and other internal work will stay on schedule.
  5. For ISC, ask how they will guide a project without doing it for your child.

We send two or three matched tutors, you see each fee before the demo, and a change of tutor later costs nothing. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how we check tutors).

ICSE Home Tutor in Bareilly (ICSE & ISC, Classes 6–12): common questions

What is the hourly fee for an ICSE or ISC tutor in Bareilly?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each ICSE or ISC tutor in Bareilly sets their own fee, which you see before the demo. Papers and journey shape it.

How do we get matched with an ICSE tutor in Bareilly?

Tell us ICSE or ISC, the class, subjects, colony and free slots, and we send two or three matched tutors for your Bareilly home. Every fee is shown before the first class, which is a free demo. Changing tutor later is free if the fit stops working.

How are the ICSE Class 10 subject groups marked for a Bareilly student?

For a Bareilly student, ICSE Groups I and II are marked 80 in the exam and 20 internally, while the single Group III subject is split 50 and 50. Group I is compulsory, and Group II takes two or three subjects. Plan Group III projects on a dated calendar.

How is ICSE Class 10 maths assessed for Bareilly students?

Bareilly students sit one 80-mark ICSE maths paper, plus 20 internal marks from at least two assignments marked by the school teacher and an external examiner. The syllabus joins commercial arithmetic, banking and shares to algebra, geometry and statistics, and examiners want every step shown.

Can an ICSE tutor in Bareilly explain in Hindi but mark answers in English?

Yes, an ICSE tutor in Bareilly can explain in Hindi when that is quicker, while insisting that written answers are in clear English. CISCE papers expect long English answers in nearly every subject, so the tutor should read each answer twice, for content and for language.

Which ISC rules should a Bareilly family know before Class 11 starts?

A Bareilly family should know that ISC subjects are fixed after a date in the Class 11 registration year, and no Class 12 subject can skip Class 11. Students take English plus three to five electives, and promotion needs 35% in four subjects with 75% attendance.

How does an ISC science student in Bareilly keep pace with JEE or NEET work?

An ISC science student in Bareilly keeps pace by mapping each ISC chapter to its NCERT match in the first weeks of Class 11. The tutor then adds objective practice where ISC is light and protects long answers, practicals and projects where entrance work looks away.

Can a Bareilly student switch from ICSE to UP Board Intermediate after Class 10?

Yes, a Bareilly student can move from ICSE to UP Board Intermediate, but should read the board files on upmsp.edu.in first. The syllabus files are in Hindi, and Intermediate maths is a single 100-mark paper with no internal share. A tutor can bridge the change in the holidays.

How do ICSE tutors reach Model Town, Ekta Nagar or Mahanagar Colony in Bareilly?

ICSE tutors reach Model Town via Stadium Road, Ekta Nagar from DD Puram, and Mahanagar Colony from Pilibhit Bypass Road. Write Model Town, Bareilly in full, mention Ekta Nagar Park and the lane, and start Mahanagar directions at the bypass with the colony entrance.

Is online tuition a good fit for ISC electives in Bareilly?

Online tuition often fits ISC electives in Bareilly, because specialists in subjects like computer science or economics may not live nearby. Keep maths and the sciences at the table where possible, and make sure the online tutor can see working through a tablet or a camera over the page.
