Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In many Bareilly homes, maths is the subject that causes the most evening arguments. The trouble is rarely laziness: usually one idea was missed two chapters back, and every new exercise rests on it. A home maths tutor who sits beside the notebook can find that gap, close it, and then keep pace with the school. Tell NXTutors the class, the board (UP Board, CBSE, CISCE or an international course) and your locality, and we come back with two or three maths tutors who fit. You see what each one charges on the shortlist itself, and your first class with the tutor you pick is a free demo.
Two named authors stand behind the exam guidance here: Ajay Vatsyayan wrote the IB, IGCSE and ISC parts, and Abhinandan Tiwary the Class 10 maths parts for CBSE and ICSE. The UP Board sections are drawn from the syllabus files and model papers that the board itself publishes. Find your child's row first; the last column is the question worth asking any tutor on the first phone call.
| Course | Set by | Marks | Ask the tutor |
|---|---|---|---|
| High School (Class 10) | UP Board (UPMSP) | Written paper of 70; school assessment of 30, including a project | How will you prepare my child for the multiple-choice sheet? |
| Intermediate (Classes 11 and 12) | UP Board (UPMSP) | A single 100-mark paper in each year | Which month will you begin calculus in Class 12? |
| Class 10, Standard or Basic | CBSE | Board paper of 80; school marks 20 | Which level should my child take, and why? |
| Class 12 | CBSE | 38 compulsory questions for 80, plus 20 internal | How will you balance board answers with entrance practice? |
| ICSE Class 10; ISC Class 12 | CISCE | Paper of 80, with 20 for internal work or projects | Which exam year's syllabus will you teach from? |
| IB Diploma; Cambridge IGCSE | IB; Cambridge | IB: timed papers and an exploration. IGCSE: Core or Extended | Which course or tier have you taught lately? |
Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad was founded at Prayagraj in 1921 and has run on a 10+2 pattern from the start: the High School examination closes Class 10 and the Intermediate examination closes Class 12. Bareilly has one of the board's regional offices, opened in 1981. For 2026-27 the board's Class 10 maths syllabus gives 70 marks to the written paper and 30 to school assessment, with project work counted in that 30. The pass line is set separately for each part, 23 in the paper and 10 inside the school, so a strong paper cannot cover for an ignored project. The units carry very different weights:
| Unit | Marks | Home routine |
|---|---|---|
| Algebra | 18 | Two or three mixed problems at every visit, from polynomials to word problems turned into equations |
| Trigonometry | 12 | Identities on flash cards; every heights-and-distances figure drawn before a ratio is written |
| Geometry | 10 | Proofs written with a reason beside each line |
| Mensuration | 10 | A formula sheet the child writes out from memory once a week |
| Statistics and probability | 10 | Grouped-data tables set out neatly, column by column |
| Number systems | 5 | Short revision, but never skipped |
| Coordinate geometry | 5 | Distance and section formula problems with a rough sketch |
The syllabus also limits heights and distances to angles of 30, 45 and 60 degrees, with no more than two right triangles in a question. The figures stay small, and the marks go to a clean drawing and the right ratio. For the board as a whole, see our UP Board tutors in Bareilly page.
The board's model paper for Class 10 maths is set in Hindi and opens with a reading period. Section A then asks 20 one-mark multiple-choice questions on an OMR sheet, and the instructions forbid cutting, erasers and whitener. Section B carries the other 50 marks in five questions, and each one states how many of its parts the student should attempt. Those two halves call for different practice at home:
For 2026-27 the board has also said that schools should use only the textbooks it authorises, so a tutor should teach from your child's prescribed book and treat any guidebook as extra practice only.
Once a Bareilly student chooses maths for Intermediate, the shape of the exam changes. Each year has one 100-mark written paper with no internal share, so every mark is earned in the hall. The units are uneven again:
| Class 11 unit | Marks | Class 12 unit | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Algebra | 35 | Calculus | 44 |
| Sets and functions | 28 | Vectors and three-dimensional geometry | 18 |
| Coordinate geometry | 15 | Algebra | 15 |
| Statistics and probability | 12 | Relations and functions | 10 |
| Calculus | 10 | Probability | 8 |
| Linear programming | 5 |
Calculus is a small unit in Class 11 but almost half the Class 12 paper, so a tutor who makes limits and derivatives feel easy in Class 11 is buying marks for the next year. The Class 12 model paper sets nine questions, all compulsory, which leaves no room to dodge a chapter. For students also sitting JEE Main, the 2026 Paper 1 had 25 maths questions, 20 multiple-choice and 5 with a numerical answer, each worth +4 if right and −1 if wrong; check the next pattern on jeemain.nta.nic.in. Our JEE maths topic-wise guide, the JEE home tutors in Bareilly page and the Class 12 maths tutor page go further.
In 2026-27 the CBSE Class 10 paper is worth 80, with the 14 NCERT chapters grouped into seven units. Algebra is the heaviest at 20, then geometry at 15 and trigonometry, heights and distances included, at 12. Statistics with probability brings 11 and mensuration 10, while real numbers and coordinate geometry are worth 6 apiece. No calculator is allowed. Standard and Basic cover the same chapters at different depth, and Basic leans far more on recall, so any child who might choose maths in Class 11 is safer on Standard. An optional second Class 10 sitting lets eligible students try to raise up to three subjects, maths among them; its timetable comes only from cbse.gov.in.
In Class 12 every one of the 38 questions must be answered, for 80 marks, and calculus by itself covers 35 of them. The Class 10 maths preparation guide, the Class 12 calculus and algebra guide, the Class 10 maths tutor page and our CBSE home tutors in Bareilly page take each step further.
Fewer teachers in Bareilly handle these courses, so mention the course in your very first message. An online specialist for the syllabus, with a nearby tutor checking written practice, often works well.
Six localities from the central belt, the old city and the north show what to settle before a first visit. Compare tutors by locality on our Bareilly page.
| Locality | What it is like | Settle in advance |
|---|---|---|
| Civil Lines | Laid out in the late nineteenth century between the old city and the cantonment; offices, shops and homes share the streets | The lane or nearest crossing, and whether you live in a house or a flat above shops |
| Rampur Garden | A residential colony north-east of Civil Lines that grew after independence | Who will be home to meet the tutor and hear the weekly feedback if both parents work late |
| Koharapeer | Part of the old city, beside Bara Bazar, Alamgiri Ganj and Zakati Street | The route from the nearest wide road and a safe spot to leave a two-wheeler |
| Gulab Nagar | On the Nainital Road side of central Bareilly, near Sahukara and Alakhnath Road | The lane off Nainital Road; tutors from both north and centre can reach it |
| Izatnagar | A railway town in the north, with a divisional headquarters, a workshop from 1913 and large railway colonies | Colony, road number and quarter number, since many quarters look alike |
| Karamchari Nagar | A colony of family homes near Delapeer and Izatnagar; the name means employees' colony | House number, block and a known shop, and a slot kept the same every week |
The Old City and Izatnagar and CB Ganj zone pages give more local advice, and the Bareilly home tuition guide covers the whole city.
Ask the tutor to teach whatever chapter the school is on this week and keep your child's last test paper close by. Then look for four things:
If the match is wrong, tell us and the next tutor on your shortlist takes a demo; switching tutor later is free too. The demo class checklist for parents lists more questions.
At the same desk, a tutor catches a wrong step while the pencil is still moving. That matters most for younger children, geometry proofs and Hindi-medium students whose written terms need checking against the textbook. Online lessons suit a specialist across the city, an ISC or IB course, or the weeks before the pre-boards. A common arrangement is one home visit and one online session a week. The home tutor or online tutor article and our online tutors for Bareilly page compare the two.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee. When you compare a shortlist, ask which board and class each tutor has taught recently, how many sessions a week they would suggest, and whether an online session can stand in for a visit during exam weeks. Fees are visible before the demo, and the Bareilly home tuition fees guide lists what else to ask.
Send us the class, the exact course (UP Board High School or Intermediate, CBSE Standard or Basic, ICSE, ISC, IB or IGCSE), your locality with a landmark, the hours that are free after school or coaching, and roughly what you hope to spend. Within that, we look for two or three maths tutors, list their fees, and you invite one to a free demo. When nobody suitable can come to your part of the city at your hour, we will say so and offer an online or part-online plan instead. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Our office is in Sector 66, Gurugram, and online lessons reach every state. See the national maths home tutor page, our maths tutors in Lucknow, and, for science in Bareilly, physics and science.
Are you a maths teacher living in Bareilly? Families near you post requests on the Bareilly tuition jobs page, and joining is free.
Compare each fee next to the board and class the tutor has taught most recently. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Bareilly maths tutors set their own fees, so also ask how many sessions a week each suggests.
NXTutors needs five things from a Bareilly family: the class, the full course name, your locality with a landmark, the free hours around school or coaching, and a rough budget. We then send two or three matched maths tutors with their fees. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later costs nothing.
Algebra deserves the most practice, because it carries 18 of the 70 written marks in UP Board High School maths for 2026-27. Trigonometry follows with 12, and geometry, mensuration and statistics with probability bring 10 each. Number systems and coordinate geometry are worth 5 apiece, so a Bareilly tutor should still revise them before the board exam.
No, a Bareilly student needs to clear both parts, because UP Board sets separate pass marks for High School maths. The pupil must score 23 of the 70 written marks and 10 of the 30 internal marks, which include project work. A strong paper cannot make up for a weak project, so the school work deserves steady attention.
A child should prepare for the OMR section by solving in rough first and only then filling one circle. The board's model paper sets 20 one-mark multiple-choice questions in Section A and rules out cutting, erasers and whitener. A tutor in Bareilly can run short timed sets on blank sheets every fortnight until the habit feels natural.
Class 11 calculus matters because it grows from 10 marks in Class 11 to 44 of the 100 marks in Class 12. A Bareilly student who becomes comfortable with limits and derivatives early has far less to rescue in the board year. The Class 12 model paper sets nine compulsory questions, so no chapter can safely be dropped.
A Bareilly Class 10 student who may choose maths in Class 11 should take CBSE Standard. Both levels cover the same 14 chapters for 80 board marks, but about 54% of Standard marks test remembering and understanding against about 75% in Basic. Standard keeps the door open for senior maths, while Basic suits a child who will drop it.
A family in Izatnagar should give the colony, road number and quarter number, since railway quarters can look alike. In Koharapeer, in the old city, describe the route from the nearest wide road and say where a two-wheeler can be left. Both details help the first maths lesson in Bareilly start on time.
Home maths tuition suits Bareilly children who need each wrong step caught as it is written, such as younger pupils, geometry proofs and Hindi-medium students. Online lessons suit a specialist living across the city, ISC or IB courses, or the weeks before the pre-boards. Many families combine one home visit with one online session each week.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
