What home tuition costs in Bareilly

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

CBSE home tutors in Bareilly: NCERT understood, papers practised, Classes 6 to 12

Bareilly is a city of several boards. Many families study under the UP Board, which has had a regional office in the city since 1981; others follow CBSE or CISCE. A CBSE parent here tends to ask three plain questions. Is my child really reading NCERT, or just finishing exercises? Can they cope with the competency questions the board now sets? Will written answers stand up in the Class 10 and Class 12 board papers? The sections below go through the board stage by stage, compare its marking with the UP Board's, explain what changed for Classes 9 and 10 in 2026-27, describe a session worth paying for, and show how tutors reach colonies in the north and east of the city. Abhinandan Tiwary, who teaches Class 10 maths for CBSE and ICSE, shaped the maths advice; Aaditya Kashyap, who teaches science for both boards, shaped the science advice.

Where the marks come from: CBSE and the UP Board side by side

We have no reliable figures for how many Bareilly children study under each board, so we do not publish any. What does help is seeing how the two boards most families meet build their marks. A tutor fluent in one can drill the wrong habits for the other.

Mark splits in the 2026-27 documents
PaperCBSEUP Board
Class 10 maths80 board + 20 internal; 33% to pass70 written + 30 internal at school; at least 23 and 10, 33 in all
Class 12 physics, chemistry, biology70 theory + 30 practical70 paper + 30 practical
Class 12 maths80 theory + 20 internal (Mathematics 041 or Applied Mathematics 241)One 100-mark paper; four school unit tests that do not count

In the Class 12 sciences the two look almost identical. Maths is where they part: a fifth of a CBSE student's maths marks are earned internally, while every Intermediate maths mark on the UP Board comes from the paper. CBSE also puts roughly half of each secondary paper into competency-focused questions, and every year it posts fresh sample papers with marking schemes on cbseacademic.nic.in. The state board's own files are read closely on our UP Board tutors in Bareilly page.

From Class 6 to Class 12: the CBSE route

Each CBSE stage for a Bareilly child
StagePaper set byWhere children slipWhat a tutor does
Classes 6–8SchoolFractions, integers, careless reading of science textMends the basics and insists on written steps
Class 9School, 80 + 20Algebra and science both step up at onceShort chapter tests; helps decide on the Advanced paper
Class 10CBSE, 80 + 20Case-based items; incomplete answersMarks sample papers against the official scheme
Class 11SchoolA sharp jump in physics, chemistry and mathsSecures foundations before the board year
Class 12CBSE, theory plus practical or internalWhole-syllabus revision beside entrance workBuilds one plan that serves both

Every Class 10 subject needs 33% to pass. When a child "suddenly" struggles with Class 9 algebra, the cause is usually older: shaky fractions or simple equations from the middle classes. Early tuition should fix those roots before it pushes the pace.

What changed for Classes 9 and 10 in 2026-27

In Class 9, maths and science are each examined at one common standard through an 80-mark paper. In addition, a child may opt for an Advanced paper of 25 marks in maths, in science, in both or in neither. Its questions are entirely higher-order, built on additional content, and its marks are kept out of the aggregate; a score of half or more is recorded on the marksheet. The older Basic and Standard choice in maths is winding down, with the 2026-27 Class 10 group the final one to take it. Advanced is for a child who already likes the subject. It will not cure weakness.

Class 10 now offers two board examinations. Everyone must take the first. After passing, a student may sit the second to raise marks in as many as three of science, mathematics, social science and the languages. Treat the first sitting as the one that counts, with the second held in reserve.

Senior papers and their splits

  • Sciences: Physics 042, Chemistry 043 and Biology 044 are each 70 in theory and 30 in practical work.
  • Maths: a student takes either Mathematics 041 or Applied Mathematics 241, never both, at 80 theory and 20 internal.
  • Commerce: Accountancy 055, Business Studies 054 and Economics 030 also run at 80 and 20.

The Class 12 paper spans the full year's syllabus, and its design arrives with each new sample paper, so confirm that the tutor is using this year's. Good starting points for the board year are our guides to Class 12 physics, organic and inorganic chemistry and calculus and algebra.

Competency questions are reading questions

About half of a CBSE secondary paper now opens with something to read: a short case, a source extract, a table or an everyday scenario. The questions that follow check whether the child can use an idea, not just recall it, so a child who knows the chapter can still lose marks by rushing the reading. A simple drill helps in science: take one passage per session, underline the givens, say which concept they point to, and only then answer. In maths, the same drill means writing the equation from the words before calculating anything. Use CBSE sample papers and the NCERT exemplar; most bazaar worksheets do not imitate the style well.

Switching board or city: the first months

Some Bareilly families arrive from other cities, for example for railway or research work on the Izatnagar side, and some children move between the UP Board and CBSE after Class 10. In both cases the gaps are specific. A child coming from the state board may know the content but be new to internal assessment of the CBSE kind and to competency questions. A child moving the other way to UP Board Intermediate maths has to get used to a single 100-mark paper with no internal share, and to the board's own question style. Ask for a short diagnostic test in the demo, then a written list of the three or four gaps the tutor will close first. The board and stream guide helps with the choice itself.

Inside a session worth paying for

In Classes 9 and 10, two shorter visits a week generally beat a single long one at the weekend. Each visit can follow the same three beats. First, the latest school test: every lost mark traced back to the NCERT page that explains it. Second, one new idea, practised on textbook exercises and then on an exemplar or case-based item. Third, one answer written out completely and checked for steps, units, labelled diagrams and neat layout. A Hindi-speaking child can hear the explanation in Hindi and still be asked to write in clean English. Once a month, ask for a few lines on chapters done, test scores and mistakes that keep coming back.

Six colonies, and what to tell the tutor

  • Deen Dayal Puram: write the address as DD Puram as well, with the block and house number; some tutors know the colony only by its short name.
  • Ekta Nagar: Ekta Nagar Park and the lane number make a clear point to head for. Juniors suit weekday afternoons; seniors who get home late suit evenings.
  • Green Park: three colonies share the name, so say whether you live in Green Park, Green Park Colony or Greater Green Park Colony, with block or plot.
  • Harunagla: start directions from Harunagla Road and name a landmark visible from it, such as a shop sign.
  • CB Ganj: name the colony, the road and a landmark a tutor from the city side would know; consider online for a specialist subject.
  • Suresh Sharma Nagar: send directions from Pilibhit Bypass Road before the first visit, not on the phone at the gate.

Each belt has its own zone page: Rajendra Nagar and DD Puram, Pilibhit Bypass and Bisalpur Road and Izatnagar and CB Ganj. The Bareilly home tuition guide walks through all five.

A visit, a screen, or both?

Visits make sense for younger children, for anyone easily distracted online, and for work where each written line is marked: maths, physics numericals, balanced equations, accountancy formats. A screen makes sense for a quick doubt session on a school night, for a senior subject whose specialist lives on the other side of Bareilly, and for the eastern colonies, where fewer tutors may live nearby. One tutor can do both. Our online tutors for Bareilly page and the home versus online comparison weigh it up.

Questions that test a CBSE tutor in the demo

  1. Ask which year's sample paper they teach from; the answer should be the current one on the board's academic site.
  2. Hand over a case-based question and see whether they coach the reading or simply give the answer.
  3. Ask how a CBSE answer and a UP Board answer to the same question would differ.
  4. Ask how they will keep track of internal work: projects, practical files and school tests.
  5. Ask what written update you will get each month.

Fees and the first step

CBSE Home Tutor in Bareilly (Classes 6–12): common questions

What does a CBSE home tutor in Bareilly charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each CBSE tutor in Bareilly sets their own fee, and you see it before the demo, so you can compare calmly.

How do we book a CBSE tutor for our child in Bareilly?

Send the class, subjects, colony, preferred language and free slots, and we reply with two or three matched CBSE tutors in Bareilly. Each fee is shown before the first class, which is a free demo. If it does not fit, another tutor is lined up, and switching later costs nothing.

How is CBSE Class 10 maths marked differently from UP Board maths in Bareilly?

CBSE Class 10 maths in Bareilly is 80 board marks plus 20 internal, with 33% to pass. UP Board High School maths is 70 written plus 30 internal at school, needing at least 23 and 10. A tutor should prepare for the paper your child actually sits.

Is the CBSE Advanced paper in Class 9 worth it for a Bareilly student?

The CBSE Advanced paper in Class 9 suits a Bareilly student who already enjoys maths or science, not one who is struggling. It carries 25 marks of higher-order questions outside the aggregate, and a score of 50% or more is noted on the marksheet. Decide with the tutor early.

How do the two CBSE Class 10 board exams work for Bareilly students?

Bareilly students sit the first CBSE Class 10 board exam compulsorily, and may take a second to improve up to three of science, maths, social science and the languages. Prepare for the first as the real exam. The second is a safety net, not a plan.

How are CBSE Class 12 science subjects marked for a Bareilly student?

For a Bareilly student, CBSE Class 12 physics, chemistry and biology each carry 70 theory marks and 30 practical. Mathematics 041 or Applied Mathematics 241 has 80 theory and 20 internal, and commerce papers follow the same 80 and 20 split. Work from the current sample paper.

Can a Bareilly child move from the UP Board to CBSE after Class 10?

Yes, a Bareilly child can move from the UP Board to CBSE after Class 10, but the first months need care. Competency questions and CBSE-style internal assessment may be new. Ask for a short diagnostic test in the demo and a written list of the first gaps to close.

What should a CBSE tutor do with competency questions for a Bareilly student?

A CBSE tutor should teach a Bareilly student to read a competency question before solving it. Roughly half of each secondary paper uses cases, sources, data or real situations. Mark what is given, name the idea, then write, using CBSE sample papers and the NCERT exemplar.

How do CBSE tutors find homes in DD Puram, Green Park or Harunagla in Bareilly?

CBSE tutors find DD Puram when the address gives both names, DD Puram and Deen Dayal Puram, with the block. In Green Park, say which of the three Green Park colonies you mean. In Harunagla, start from Harunagla Road and name a visible landmark.

When does online CBSE tuition make sense for a Bareilly family?

Online CBSE tuition makes sense for a Bareilly family when a senior subject specialist lives across the city or a short weekday doubt session is needed. It also helps in the eastern colonies, where fewer tutors may live nearby. Younger children and maths working usually do better at the table.
