Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Between Class 6 and Class 10, school science grows from a book of simple experiments into physics, chemistry and biology, each with its own words and its own way of writing an answer. Amravati children meet that growth through different boards. A State Board pupil answers Science and Technology on activity sheets across two papers; a CBSE pupil writes one long paper; an ICSE pupil writes three. Many also learn science in English while speaking Marathi, Urdu or Hindi at home. The tutor who helps most teaches from the child's own textbook and checks that every idea can be written in the exam's language. NXTutors suggests two or three science tutors matched to your board and locality, shows each fee before you meet, and makes the first lesson a free demo.
Aaditya Kashyap wrote the CBSE and ICSE parts of this guide. Each school year asks something different of a tutor, and one question per stage lets a parent check that the work is on track:
| Stage | What the tutor works on | Parent's check |
|---|---|---|
| Classes 6 and 7 | Describing each activity in one exact sentence and drawing a neat, labelled sketch | Does my child use the textbook word, or a home-language word? |
| Class 8 | Telling the three sciences apart; first numerical problems and word equations | Is there a unit at the end of every numerical answer? |
| Class 9 | A much heavier syllabus, so weak chapters must be repaired fast | Which recent chapter would my child still struggle to explain? |
| Class 10 | Writing in the board paper's own format, against the clock | When was the last full timed paper? |
Up to Class 10 one tutor for all three sciences is usually the wiser choice, because the same person can tell whether a wrong physics answer came from weak arithmetic or a muddled idea. Our national science home tutor page explains matching, and the Class 9 science tutor page covers the year that catches many families out.
A large share of Amravati pupils follow the Maharashtra State Board, which holds the SSC at Standard X and lists an Amravati divisional board on its site. Under the board's evaluation scheme for Standards IX and X, Science and Technology (code 72) is tested through two 40-mark papers, each answered as an activity sheet. The other 20 marks are awarded in school for experiments, the journal and projects.
Use the board's textbooks and the sample papers on mahahsscboard.in, and check the current scheme there before planning. Other board subjects are on our Maharashtra Board home tutor in Amravati page.
In a semi-English class, a common arrangement in Maharashtra, maths and science come from English textbooks while other subjects stay in Marathi. For a Class 6 child that can mean meeting "evaporation" and "photosynthesis" as English words before the ideas are fully clear. A tutor can explain first in Marathi, Urdu or Hindi, then return to the English term and have the child say it, spell it and use it in a sentence. Ask for a tutor who is comfortable in both languages, and say which subjects your child studies in which medium.
CBSE examines 80 marks on its board paper; the school gives the other 20, split into four parts of 5. The units are far from equal:
The paper's thinking split is 50% recall and understanding, 30% application and 20% analysis and evaluation. Chapter notes are in our CBSE Class 10 science notes, and the Class 10 science tutor page shows how a board year is planned.
| Question type | Marks each | Practice tip |
|---|---|---|
| 20 objective questions, multiple-choice or assertion–reason | 1 | Short recall rounds straight from the NCERT book |
| 6 short-answer questions | 2 | Two marks, two separate points |
| 7 short-answer questions | 3 | Three points, or a diagram plus two points |
| 3 case-based or source-based questions | 4 | Read the passage or table twice before writing |
| 3 long-answer questions | 5 | A labelled diagram or equation backed by numbered points |
For practice, the sample papers and marking schemes on cbseacademic.nic.in are the most dependable material.
In 2026-27 three parts of the syllabus are assessed only within school: evolution, the periodic classification of elements, and electromagnetic induction with the generator and motor. They still need proper teaching, since all three return in Class 11, but board revision time can go elsewhere. The curriculum also names 14 experiments that board questions draw on, so a careful practical file becomes a revision aid.
Every Class 10 student sits the main exam. CBSE then offers an optional second sitting to improve up to three subjects, science included. Treat the main exam as the one that counts, and watch cbse.gov.in for dates; our board-year planner maps the months.
CBSE's 2026-27 curriculum uses NCERT's newer Class 9 book, Exploration. The total is still 80 for the exam and 20 internal, but the units are grouped differently: matter 27, the living world 25, motion, force, work and sound 23, and Earth as a system 5. Notes written for the older book follow a different order and miss new material, so plan from the new text.
ICSE Class 10 students write Physics, Chemistry and Biology as three separate CISCE papers, each with its own internal marks. Schools pick their own textbooks within the council's syllabus, so the tutor should teach from those books and from the specimen papers on cisce.org. ICSE answers reward exact definitions and numericals worked in full. Recent ICSE experience is less common among local tutors, so mention the board in your first message; an online tutor widens the choice.
A Class 6 to 10 lesson usually sits between school and dinner, so an address a newcomer can follow and a time that repeats every week matter a lot. Tutors for every area are on our Amravati page.
Shrikrishna Peth, also written Shri Krishna Peth, has many families who run a shop or office nearby, so the free hour may only come in the early evening or on Sunday morning; say how many children need help. Vivekanand Colony is a quiet pocket of short lanes where children attend different boards and shifts, so put the school hours in your request.
In Kanwar Nagar, sometimes spelt Kanvar Nagar, many parents work through the day, so a short note from the tutor after each visit keeps them informed. Ravi Nagar homes often have two children a few years apart; say whether one tutor should take both. Shankar Nagar has many children in Classes 6 to 8, the right time to start before the SSC years.
Camp mixes offices, shops and homes, so families there often want a fixed evening once office hours end. Give the road, a known point such as Panchavati Chowk and the house name, and send a map pin the day before the first visit.
Tips for each part of the city are on the Ambapeth and the Old City and Rajapeth and Kanwar Nagar zone pages, and the Amravati home tuition guide covers every zone.
Whatever the board, these habits earn marks year after year. Let the tutor explain in any language that works, but insist that the written answer uses the textbook's terms:
In the free demo, ask the tutor to teach the chapter the school is on now and see whether these habits appear without prompting. Our demo class checklist lists more to watch. If the first tutor is not right, a second one from your shortlist gives a demo, and a later switch is free. In the hot months from March to June, ask whether lessons can move to the cooler morning or evening.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor fixes their own rate. For a middle-school child, ask how the year will divide between new chapters and revision, and whether one weekly visit could be an online lesson. Fees are on the shortlist before the demo, and the Amravati home tuition fees guide has more questions.
Tell us five things: the class and board, the part of science that worries you, the school medium and the home language, your locality with a landmark, and the afternoons that are free. We send two or three science tutors with their fees, and you invite one for a free demo. If nobody suitable can come at that time, an online or partly online plan is the alternative; see online tutors for Amravati. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works).
For Classes 11 and 12, see the Amravati pages for physics, chemistry and biology. Elsewhere in Maharashtra, compare science tutors in Nagpur or our Pune page. Science teachers in Amravati looking for pupils near home can browse open requests on the Amravati tuition jobs page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Amravati science tutors set their own rates, shown before the demo. Ask how the year will divide between new chapters and revision.
NXTutors matches an Amravati child using the class, board, school medium, home language, locality and free afternoons you share. We send two or three science tutors with their fees, and the first lesson with the one you pick is a free demo. If the fit is wrong, another shortlisted tutor gives a demo.
Amravati SSC students on the State Board write Science and Technology as two 40-mark papers answered on activity sheets. The remaining 20 marks are given in school for experiments, the journal and projects. Each paper is marked separately, so a tutor should keep both halves of the syllabus moving every month.
Yes, a tutor can help a semi-English child by explaining each idea in Marathi, Urdu or Hindi first and then fixing the English term. The child says the word, spells it and uses it in a sentence. Written answers always stay in English, because that is the language of the science textbook and paper.
Amravati CBSE students should revise Chemical Substances and World of Living most, as each carries 25 of the 80 board marks. Effects of Current brings 13, Natural Phenomena 12 and Our Environment 5. Half the paper tests recall and understanding, 30% application and 20% analysis and evaluation.
For 2026-27, three topics are marked inside school and not on the board paper: evolution, the periodic classification of elements, and electromagnetic induction with the generator and motor. Amravati students should still learn them properly, because all three return in Class 11, but board revision time can go to the larger units.
Amravati CBSE students in Class 9 now study from NCERT's newer book, Exploration, with 80 exam marks and 20 internal. Units are regrouped as matter 27, the living world 25, motion, force, work and sound 23, and Earth as a system 5. Notes made for the older book follow a different order.
An Amravati ICSE student needs a tutor who treats Physics, Chemistry and Biology as three separate CISCE papers, each with its own internal marks. Lessons should use the school's chosen textbooks and the council's specimen papers on cisce.org. Exact definitions and fully worked numericals win most ICSE marks.
Camp and Shrikrishna Peth families should share clear directions and a realistic time. In Camp, give the road, a known point such as Panchavati Chowk and the house name, plus a map pin. In Shrikrishna Peth, say how many children need help, since the free hour often comes in the early evening.
By Class 10, five drawing and writing habits should need no thought at all. Every ray carries an arrow, circuits use standard symbols with the ammeter in series, and the heart and digestive system are drawn and labelled cleanly. Equations are balanced with state symbols when asked, and genetic crosses are laid out step by step.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
