Amravati Home Tuition Guide: Ambapeth, Rajapeth, Camp, Dastur Nagar, Saturna and Badnera
Amravati is the headquarters of its district and division in Vidarbha, and its homes fall into five groups that local people will recognise. The old centre holds Ambapeth and Shrikrishna Peth; the colonies around the Rajapeth chowk spread south-west; Camp and Gadge Nagar run north; Dastur Nagar and Yashoda Nagar cover the south and south-east; and Saturna, Sai Nagar and Badnera form the southern end. Below, all nineteen localities, one at a time.
Reference points tutors in Amravati know
Tutors mostly arrive by two-wheeler or auto, so name a chowk first. Rajkamal Chowk, Shyam Chowk, Rajapeth Chowk, Panchavati Chowk and Ambapeth Chowk are among the junctions people across the city use, and Depot Chowk sits at the city bus terminus. The city has three railway stations: Amravati station in the old city, at the end of a short branch line from Badnera; Badnera Junction, on the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line; and New Amravati station, on the Badnera–Narkhed line, serving the west side.
| Zone | Point to start directions from | Typical homes | What to settle before the first visit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ambapeth and the Old City | Ambapeth, Rajkamal or Shyam Chowk | Long-held family houses, flats above shops | A room that stays quiet for the whole lesson |
| Rajapeth and Kanwar Nagar | Rajapeth Chowk or Ravi Nagar chowk | Family houses, small apartment buildings | Coaching days, so classes do not clash with weekly tests |
| Camp and Gadge Nagar | Panchavati Square, Shegaon Naka or Kathora Naka | Offices and homes in Camp; houses and newer flats further north | A map pin for the colonies towards the northern edge |
| Dastur Nagar and Yashoda Nagar | Shankar Nagar Road or the nearest chowk | Family houses and apartment buildings with small shops | A slot that fits families whose day starts early |
| Saturna and Badnera | A landmark on the Badnera Road side | Spread-out colonies of houses and newer flats | Whether an online class will back up the home visits |
Ambapeth and the Old City
The old heart of Amravati, where Ambapeth and Shrikrishna Peth are two of the city's three peths and Amravati station stands at the end of its branch line. The Maltekdi hill rises between Rukhmini Nagar and Camp.
Ambapeth: old family homes where grandparents, parents and children often share one house. Give the lane, the house number and which side of Ambapeth Chowk you live on. Before the demo, decide which room will stay quiet for a full hour, since that matters as much as the choice of tutor.
Shrikrishna Peth (Shri Krishna Peth): older houses beside newer flats, with many households running a shop or office close by. Parents' working days can be long, so the free hour is often early evening or Sunday morning. If two children need help, say so; one tutor may take both in one visit, each with a separate plan.
Rukhmini Nagar (Rukmini Nagar): a residential colony between Rajapeth, Kanwar Nagar and the Camp side. Write both spellings in the address. Families here often look for SSC help in Classes 9 and 10 and HSC science or commerce support after that.
Vivekanand Colony: a quiet pocket of short lanes and family houses near Rajapeth and Kanwar Nagar. School hours differ by shift, so put your child's timings in the request; a morning-shift student may be free by early afternoon, a day-school student only in the evening.
Rajapeth and Kanwar Nagar
Five colonies around the Rajapeth chowk, south-west of the old centre. Main roads stay busy into the evening, while the inner lanes are calm.
Rajapeth: an old peth and the chowk almost everyone in Amravati knows. Start directions there, then give the turn, the lane and the building. For a flat, add the floor and say where a two-wheeler can be left safely during the lesson.
Kanwar Nagar (Kanvar Nagar): family houses and smaller apartment buildings, where many parents work through the day. Evening classes are common. Ask the tutor for a short message after each visit with the topic and homework, so working parents stay informed without a long call.
Sharda Nagar: just west of Rajapeth and easy to confuse with Sharda Vihar, a separate colony next door. Write the exact name. On long school days, three shorter classes a week often suit a tired child better than two long ones.
Ravi Nagar: built around Ravi Nagar chowk, the easiest point to give a new tutor. Many homes have two children a few years apart; say plainly what each needs, as early reading and Class 10 geometry call for different skills.
Shankar Nagar: quiet lanes along Shankar Nagar Road, towards Yashoda Nagar. Several Indian cities have a Shankar Nagar, so always write Amravati and your lane. Middle-school years, Classes 6 to 8, are a good time to start steady help before the SSC years.
Camp and Gadge Nagar
The northern side of the city. Camp keeps a name from the past: the district's own history notes that the place where a British general camped is still called Camp. Panchavati Square and its flyover lie between Camp and Gadge Nagar, with Shegaon Naka and Kathora Naka to the north-west.
Camp: offices, shops and homes together, busy by day and quieter after dark. Families often want a fixed slot once office hours end. Give the road, say whether you are nearer Panchavati Square or the Maltekdi side, and send a map pin the day before.
Gadge Nagar: a large residential area of family houses and apartment buildings, with many students between Class 9 and Class 12. Senior students often combine school with coaching for MHT-CET, JEE Main or NEET, so share the coaching days and keep Sundays light.
Rathi Nagar: newer apartment buildings beside family houses, with many young children in the primary classes. Say whether Shegaon Naka or Kathora Naka is closer to your door. For young learners, three short classes at a fixed hour usually work better than one long weekend session.
Arjun Nagar: a colony towards the northern edge, near Rathi Nagar and Rahatgaon, where fewer tutors may live right inside the colony. A tutor from Gadge Nagar or Rathi Nagar can come for the main subject while an online tutor takes a second one. Weekend mornings suit many families here.
Dastur Nagar and Yashoda Nagar
The southern and south-eastern colonies, between Shankar Nagar Road, the industrial area and the Badnera Road side. Many parents here start work early, which shapes class times.
Dastur Nagar: a large residential area near Yashoda Nagar, Gopal Nagar and the industrial area. Some families prefer a class soon after school, while the child is fresh; others use one longer session on Saturday or Sunday morning. For HSC science, ask how the tutor supports practical work and the journal.
Yashoda Nagar: family houses, apartment buildings and small shops near Kanwar Nagar and Shankar Nagar Road. Children here attend schools on several boards, so put the board, class and medium in your first message, and bring the latest school test to the demo.
Gopal Nagar: a colony towards the Badnera Road side, close to Sai Nagar and Saturna. The name is common in many towns, so write Amravati and a landmark. If maths is the trouble, say exactly where it goes wrong, such as fractions or word problems, and share a recent notebook.
Saturna and Badnera
The south-western and southern end of the city. Badnera was a separate municipal town until Amravati Municipal Corporation was formed in 1983 from the Amravati and Badnera councils along with eighteen revenue villages.
Saturna: family houses and newer flats near Sai Nagar, Akoli and Gopal Nagar. A village of the same name lies in Bhatkuli taluka, so write Amravati city in the request. Many households have Class 11 or 12 students weighing HSC streams and entrance tests; say which exam, if any, is planned.
Sai Nagar (Sainagar): a residential area near Saturna and the Badnera Road. Give both spellings and a landmark on that road side. For young children, ask for short, regular classes with simple worksheets and reading aloud, and tell the tutor which language your child finds easiest for explanations.
Badnera: once its own town, now part of the city, with Badnera Junction on the main line. Many families here still say they live in Badnera rather than Amravati. Fewer tutors may live close by, so ask for those who already teach in the southern colonies, and consider an online specialist for a Class 11 or 12 subject.
Boards, mediums and entrance tests
Students in Amravati follow the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), CBSE, or ICSE and ISC. The state board conducts the SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) examinations, and its site, mahahsscboard.in, lists an Amravati Divisional Board; check notices and dates there only. Within the state board, children may study in Marathi medium, a semi-English class with maths and science in English, or English medium, so name the medium as well as the board.
Pages for each need: the Maharashtra board page for SSC and HSC, CBSE home tuition and ICSE and ISC home tuition in Amravati; single subjects in maths, science, physics, chemistry, biology and English; and, for Class 11 and 12 students with an entrance test in view, JEE or NEET home tuition. MHT-CET is run by the State CET Cell, while the National Testing Agency conducts JEE Main and NEET (UG).
For the wider choice between boards, our guide to CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE sets out how they differ.
At the table, on a screen, or both
Younger children, and older ones who lose focus alone, usually do better with a tutor sitting beside them. A screen makes sense for a specialist on the far side of the city, for a slot late in the evening, or for a monsoon night when riding over is unsafe. Any home plan can add an online tutor for Amravati students later. Our post on home tuition fees in Amravati explains what a quote should include and how to handle missed or paused classes, and home tutor or online tutor compares the two formats.
How NXTutors can help
Share the class, the board and medium, the subjects and the Amravati colony you live in. NXTutors replies with two or three matched tutors, starting with those who live closest, widening to your zone and then the whole city, and adding online tutors from elsewhere in India if the subject is better served that way. Fees appear on every profile ahead of the demo. The opening class with any tutor is a free demo, and moving to a different tutor later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete, a process set out on how we check tutors.

Frequently asked questions
Which parts of Amravati does this tuition guide cover?
This guide covers nineteen Amravati localities in five zones: Ambapeth and the Old City, Rajapeth and Kanwar Nagar, Camp and Gadge Nagar, Dastur Nagar and Yashoda Nagar, and Saturna and Badnera. Every locality name opens its own page, where you will find directions, the kind of homes there, sensible class times and the tutors NXTutors can put forward nearby.
Which landmark should we give a tutor coming to our home in Amravati?
Give a tutor the nearest chowk most people know, such as Rajkamal, Rajapeth, Ambapeth, Shyam or Panchavati, or Shegaon Naka and Kathora Naka on the north-western side. Then add the colony, lane and house or flat number. In spread-out southern colonies like Saturna or Badnera, a map pin sent the day before saves a search.
Can we find a Maharashtra State Board tutor in Amravati through NXTutors?
Yes, NXTutors can find a Maharashtra State Board tutor in Amravati when you give the class, SSC or HSC, and the medium. Say whether your child studies in Marathi medium, a semi-English class or English medium. We shortlist the nearest suitable tutors first, and add online tutors who know the state board if nobody close by fits.
Should a home tutor in Amravati also prepare my child for MHT-CET?
A home tutor in Amravati can cover MHT-CET practice if you agree it, but many families keep the home hour for HSC board chapters. Senior students often attend coaching too, so share the coaching days and decide what the tutor's job is. NXTutors makes no promise about results; the choice of plan stays with the family.
Our Amravati colony has no tutor living nearby. What happens then?
When no tutor lives in or beside your Amravati colony, the search moves outward: first the wider zone, next the whole city, and last online tutors from other states. In Arjun Nagar or Badnera, many parents pair a home tutor for the main subject with an online class for a second one. Each new tutor still starts with a free demo.
Are the tutors NXTutors suggests in Amravati ID-checked?
Every tutor joining NXTutors in Amravati goes through an ID check, and the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete. Your request brings two or three matched tutors, each with the fee on show ahead of the demo. Their opening class is free, and you can move to another tutor later at no cost.
