Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Commerce students in Jamshedpur mostly sit JAC, CBSE or CISCE papers, and from Class 12 there is a second question that is easy to overlook: will the last part of the accountancy paper be on financial statement analysis or on computerised accounting? The answer changes which tutor fits. Tell NXTutors the board, the class, that option and your neighbourhood, and we send two or three tutors who can visit or teach online. You see their fees first, and the first class with the tutor you pick is a free demo.
| Board | Class 11 in brief | Class 12 in brief |
|---|---|---|
| JAC (intermediate commerce) | Syllabus, books and paper pattern published by the Jharkhand Academic Council; follow its current notices | |
| CBSE Accountancy (055) | Theoretical framework (12), accounting process (44), sole proprietorship financial statements (24), project (20); Computerised Accounting compulsory | Partnership (36) and companies (24), then analysis of financial statements or Computerised Accounting (20); project or practical work |
| ISC Accounts (858) | From the accounting equation to final accounts, incomplete records and non-trading organisations | Section A on partnership and company accounts (60), then Section B or Section C (20) |
| Cambridge | IGCSE Accounting (0452), usually in Grades 9–10: a multiple-choice and a structured paper | AS & A Level Accounting (9706), with cost and management accounting as its own A Level paper |
The IB Diploma has no separate accounting subject; its closest courses are Business Management and Economics. Our CBSE home tutor in Jamshedpur and ICSE and ISC home tutor in Jamshedpur pages cover the other subjects on those boards.
JAC, the Jharkhand Academic Council, is the state board and conducts the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations for its affiliated schools. Its commerce stream follows the council's own syllabus and prescribed books, and its school calendar follows the council's notices rather than the CBSE session. We keep our description general; take the syllabus and paper pattern only from the council. A tutor for a JAC student should bring its book and past papers, and be able to teach in Hindi, English or both, depending on how your child writes answers. Ask at the demo how they would use the council's past papers across the year, not only in the final month.
Both CBSE and ISC let schools choose how the last 20 marks of Class 12 accountancy are earned. On CBSE, Part B is either financial statement analysis (ratios, comparative and common-size statements, and the cash flow statement) or Computerised Accounting, with practical work in place of the project. On ISC, the choice is Section B (financial statement analysis and the cash flow statement) or Section C (spreadsheets and database management), with two questions of 10 marks each to answer from three. Ask the school which one it teaches before you ask for a tutor.
| Route | What the student practises | Tutor to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Analysis (CBSE Part B; ISC Section B) | Accounting ratios with correct formula components; classifying cash flows as operating, investing or financing | Someone strong on ratio and cash flow questions who insists on working notes |
| Computer route (CBSE Computerised Accounting; ISC Section C) | Spreadsheet functions and layouts for accounting data; database tables and queries on ISC | Someone who has taught the software side and can work in the same file with the student |
A tutor who is excellent on partnership accounts may never have taught a spreadsheet question, and that is fine if your child's school follows the analysis route. If the school follows the computer route, a split arrangement is reasonable: one tutor for Section A or Part A at home, and the same or a second tutor online for the computer part. Class 11 CBSE students also do Computerised Accounting, so the software habit can start a year earlier.
On the analysis route, most lost marks come from putting the wrong figure inside a correct formula. Suppose current assets are ₹3,00,000 and current liabilities ₹1,50,000: the current ratio is 2:1. A student who also counts a five-year bank loan as a current liability gets a much lower figure and draws the wrong conclusion about the firm's ability to pay its short-term debts. A tutor prevents this by making the student list and classify every balance sheet item before calculating anything, and by asking, after each ratio, what the number says about the business. That second step is also what the analysis questions reward.
CBSE commerce students usually take Business Studies (054) with Accountancy: a separate 80-mark paper and 20-mark project, written rather than numerical. ISC students may take Commerce (857), descriptive in the same way, on the same Part I and Part II pattern as Accounts. The two subjects meet in places, such as shares and debentures, which appear as sources of finance in one and as journal entries in the other. If both need help, say so; if only one does, a specialist in that one is usually the better use of the budget.
Two rivers shape the city's journeys. The Subarnarekha separates Mango from the centre, the Kharkai separates Adityapur and Gamharia from Bistupur and Kadma, and bridge traffic at office hours decides whether a weekly slot holds. When you send a request, say which bank you live on: a tutor from Sakchi or Golmuri can often reach Mango by bus or auto, and a tutor from Adityapur is the natural match for Gamharia, while a crossing at the evening peak is the part of any schedule most likely to slip. Six neighbourhoods; the Jamshedpur home tuition page lists the rest.
| Neighbourhood | Way in | Arrange in advance |
|---|---|---|
| Circuit House Area | Auto or two-wheeler on the city bank, no bridge needed | Little: houses here are simple doorstep visits |
| Kadma | Marine Drive, or a Kharkai bridge from Adityapur | Gate details for private apartment buildings |
| Gamharia | Through Adityapur on the Kandra road | A tutor from Adityapur for home visits, online for specialist topics |
| Jugsalai | The station roads from the centre | Early or later-evening slots, since market lanes crowd in trading hours |
| Birsanagar | Golmuri Road, or Salgajhari station | The zone number and a landmark; the locality spreads over twelve zones |
| Mango | The bridges from Sakchi; buses and autos run regularly | A tutor from the Mango side if possible; complexes ask for a name at the gate |
The zone guides for West Jamshedpur and the Kharkai side and East Jamshedpur go further, and our Jamshedpur tuition guide covers the whole city.
For written accountancy, a tutor at the table is hard to beat: every posting and every balance is visible as it is written, which matters most in Class 11. Online lessons work when homework photos arrive before the session and the notebook stays in camera view. For the computer route in Class 12, online can be the better choice, since tutor and student can edit the same spreadsheet.
We make no claim about how many commerce tutors live in any neighbourhood. You can request a home tutor anywhere in Jamshedpur; when no suitable tutor can reach you at your hour, especially across a river at office time, online widens the choice. Our article on home or online tutoring weighs the two.
The NTA's CUET (UG) 2026 bulletin includes Accountancy / Book Keeping (code 301) among its domain subjects: 50 compulsory questions in 60 minutes, on NCERT's Class 12 syllabus. Board preparation covers the content; speed on objective questions comes later. A JAC student should have the tutor map the council's book against NCERT's chapters. Check the bulletin for your year. For the decision before Class 11, our stream choice guide and Class 11 tutoring page were written for Gurugram, but the reasoning applies in Jamshedpur.
If the fit is wrong, we arrange a demo with the next tutor on the shortlist. Switching later is free.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets a fee, shown before the demo. The Jamshedpur home tuition fees article explains how rates vary.

The national accountancy home tutor guide lists chapter trouble spots, and our English and maths pages for Jamshedpur cover other subjects. Teachers can find open requests on Jamshedpur tuition jobs.
On CBSE, Part B of Class 12 is either financial statement analysis or Computerised Accounting with practical work. On ISC, it is Section B (analysis and cash flow) or Section C (spreadsheets and databases). Schools decide, so ask which route your child's school follows before choosing a tutor.
You can request one anywhere in the city. We look for tutors who use the Jharkhand Academic Council's prescribed book and past papers and teach in Hindi, English or both. Our notes on the council's paper stay general, so confirm its syllabus and pattern from its own notices.
Some will, especially from Sakchi, since buses and autos run regularly between Sakchi and Mango. Crossing the bridges at the evening peak is the part most likely to slip, so a tutor from the Mango side or an off-peak slot is easier. Online lessons widen the choice further.
Often, yes. Tutor and student can work in the same spreadsheet with screen sharing, which is hard to match at a kitchen table. A sensible split is home sessions for written chapters such as partnership and company accounts, and online sessions for the software part of the course.
Not always. Business Studies is a written, case-based paper, quite different from accountancy's procedures. If both subjects need help and one tutor is genuinely strong in both, that can work. If only accountancy is weak, a specialist in that subject is usually the better use of the budget.
Once or twice a week is typical in Class 11, with practice set between sessions. The first months matter most, because journal, ledger and trial balance underpin everything later. A tutor who builds those habits early saves far more time in Class 12 than extra sessions before the exams.
