Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Many Jamshedpur students in Classes 11 and 12 already go to entrance coaching, so the question is not whether to prepare for JEE but how a home tutor adds to what the batch is doing. In this city the answer has a geographical twist. Mango and Dimna sit across the Subarnarekha, Adityapur and Gamharia across the Kharkai, and there is no metro, so a tutor who has to cross a bridge at peak hour every week is a tutor who will eventually start missing sessions. This page explains how Jamshedpur families plan around that: which slots hold, which neighbourhoods draw on which tutors, which subject to keep at home, how JAC and ISC students close the gap to the NTA syllabus, and what changes from Class 11 to a repeat year. The exam in full is on the national JEE home tutor hub.
JEE (Main) Paper 1, as the NTA's 2026 bulletin set it, is a three-hour computer-based test of 75 questions, 25 in each of maths, physics and chemistry, for 300 marks, held in two sessions a year. JEE (Advanced), run by the IITs, has two compulsory three-hour papers and allows two attempts in consecutive years. Three details deserve a place in any plan:
All of this is restated yearly. Read the current bulletin on jeemain.nta.nic.in and the brochure on jeeadv.ac.in.
Four places decide most journey times: Sakchi Golchakkar, the Bistupur shopping roads, the station crossing at Tatanagar and Dimna Chowk. Add the Kharkai bridges at office hours, the Mango bridges in the evening, and the shift traffic on the eastern main roads. Coaching evenings fill the rest.
| Slot | Use | Jamshedpur reason |
|---|---|---|
| Non-coaching weekday, before the market rush | The main home session | Sakchi and Bistupur are far easier before evening shopping begins |
| Slightly later evening on bridge routes | Home session for Sonari, Adityapur or Mango | Bridge traffic peaks at office hours; a later start runs on time |
| Coaching days, after the batch | Short online doubt session | No river crossing at night |
| Weekend morning | Full mock and review | Quiet roads and bridges; time to analyse every question |
The reasoning in our JEE coaching or a home tutor guide, written for another city, holds here: count door-to-door time at the real hour and give the tutor the doubt list and test reviews rather than a repeat lecture.
| Neighbourhood | Where tutors usually come from | Planning note |
|---|---|---|
| Bistupur | Central and western neighbourhoods, without a river to cross | Flats often keep a gate register; book before the shopping rush |
| Sonari | Sonari, Kadma and Bistupur, linked by Marine Drive | Societies register visitors and set parking rules; send the tutor's name and vehicle number |
| Adityapur | Ideally Adityapur itself; otherwise over one of the two Kharkai bridges | A tutor from the same bank keeps the routine through the year |
| Jugsalai | Jugsalai, Parsudih and Burmamines cover each other without a river | Market lanes crowd in trading hours; early morning or later evening |
| Birsanagar | The eastern colonies and Golmuri Road from the centre | Give the zone number and a landmark; slots after shift traffic clears |
| Mango | Ideally a tutor living on the Mango side; buses and autos run from Sakchi | Work on the NH 18 corridor slows Pardih and Dimna Chowk; keep an online back-up |
Zone guides cover Central Jamshedpur, West Jamshedpur and the Kharkai side, South Jamshedpur and Tatanagar and East Jamshedpur; Mango and Dimna are covered on the Jamshedpur page, which lists every neighbourhood. Our Jamshedpur tuition guide goes further into housing and travel.
| Subject | Format | When to change it |
|---|---|---|
| Maths | At home with a tutor from your bank | Go online for Advanced-level problem sets if no local specialist is free |
| Physics | At home for concept building; online for test review | Move fully online on road-works evenings around Mango and Dimna |
| Chemistry | Mostly online | Bring physical chemistry home if numericals keep going wrong |
In Gamharia, Govindpur and Dimna, a nearby tutor for one subject plus an online specialist for the rest is the usual pattern. Our home or online tutor comparison sets out the general trade-offs.
Take an illustrative Class 12 student in Mango with coaching on three evenings, comfortable in chemistry, average in maths and weak in physics. Asking a physics specialist from Sonari to cross the Mango bridges at the evening peak twice a week rarely lasts beyond the first month. A plan built around the river works better:
Chemistry stays with the batch and is checked through monthly test scores. The family pays for one home visit a week instead of four, and none of the sessions depends on a bridge at rush hour. The same reasoning applies in Adityapur and Gamharia with the Kharkai bridges.
Three boards cover most Jamshedpur requests. The NTA syllabus follows NCERT content, so the work differs by board:
| Board | Starting point | Tutor's job for JEE |
|---|---|---|
| JAC | The council's prescribed textbooks and paper style | Map chapters to NTA units; add timed objective and numerical practice; school details from the council's notices only |
| CBSE | NCERT as the school book | Speed and depth beyond the textbook; full written answers before pre-boards |
| ISC | Wide syllabus, long answers, project work | Chart which NTA units school reaches each term; objective practice alongside |
Students on IB or Cambridge courses usually work with an online specialist and should read the qualifying-examination section of the current NTA bulletin. Board detail is on our Jamshedpur maths, physics and chemistry pages.
| Stage | Focus | Local planning point |
|---|---|---|
| Class 11 | Kinematics and laws of motion, early calculus, mole concept; error log from week one | Choose a tutor on your side of the river now; changing mid-year costs momentum |
| Class 12 | Finish chapters, revise Class 11, full papers before the January session | Reserve written-answer weeks before JAC, CBSE or ISC pre-boards |
| Repeat year | Diagnose last year's papers, rebuild weak chapters, many full papers | Daytime sessions avoid bridge peaks and shift traffic entirely |
When to begin? The CBSE session opens in April, while JAC and CISCE schools publish their own calendars. April to June, with new books and the summer break, is the easiest window to find a tutor on your bank and settle a weekly slot before coaching and school both speed up. Starting in winter still helps, but the weight then shifts to full papers, test analysis and the board's written answers rather than new teaching.
Check repeat-year eligibility in the current documents; in 2026, Main had no age limit and Advanced allowed two attempts in consecutive years. For subject depth see the JEE physics tutor page and our plans for maths, physics and chemistry.
If it is not right, we arrange the next demo; switching is free. See the demo checklist for parents.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee and show it before the demo; one crossing a river to reach you may price in the trip. See the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Jamshedpur.
Send the class, board, target, subjects, coaching days and your neighbourhood with the nearest market or golchakkar. We send two or three matched tutors and you book a free demo class. Tutors teach across Jamshedpur: Sakchi and Bistupur, Kadma and Sonari, Adityapur and Gamharia across the Kharkai, Jugsalai, Parsudih and Burmamines, the eastern colonies such as Birsanagar and Baridih, and Mango and Dimna across the Subarnarekha. We start with tutors from your bank of the river. Share your neighbourhood and nearest market.
Bridges are the slowest part of most journeys at office hours and in the evening. A tutor who must cross the Kharkai or the Subarnarekha at peak time every week often starts missing sessions. A tutor from your own bank, plus online sessions for a specialist, keeps the routine steady through the year.
Book the main home session on a non-coaching weekday before the evening market rush in Sakchi and Bistupur, or slightly later on bridge routes. On coaching days, a short online doubt session after the batch works better. Weekend mornings suit a full paper and its review. Keep the agreed slot fixed.
Yes. The tutor follows the council's textbooks and latest notices for the school side, maps each chapter to the NTA syllabus, and adds the timed objective and numerical practice the board paper does not ask for. Written board answers still need dedicated weeks before the Class 12 pre-boards.
Often it is the most practical choice. Fewer specialists live on those banks, and evening traffic at the Mango bridges and Dimna Chowk is heavy while the NH 18 corridor is built. A local tutor at home for one subject and an online specialist for the rest is the usual pattern.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour, with JEE toward the upper end and JEE Advanced specialists able to charge more. Tutors set their own fee, shown before the demo. A tutor crossing a river to reach you may include the trip in the fee.
You receive two or three matched tutors and take a free demo with the one you prefer. Bring unsolved coaching questions, watch who does the solving, and ask which bridge or road the tutor will use each week. If it is not right, we arrange the next demo, and switching later is free.
