Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Economics is the school subject that changes every morning in the newspaper. Students who learn to connect a headline to a chapter write sharper answers, choose better project topics and, on IB, handle the internal assessment with confidence. In Jamshedpur that skill has to fit the board: JAC, CBSE, ISC, Cambridge or IB. NXTutors matches on board, class and the weak spot, then sends two or three tutors who can visit or teach online, with every fee shown and a free first class with your chosen tutor.
| Board | How it is examined | Tutoring focus |
|---|---|---|
| JAC, Classes 11–12 | Set by the council for its intermediate course; see its notices | The council's book and past papers, in the medium of answers |
| CBSE Economics (030) | A three-hour, 80-mark paper and a 20-mark project in each year; about 30% of the paper asks for analysis and evaluation | Statistics and micro diagrams in Class 11; macro numericals and Indian economy answers in Class 12 |
| ISC Economics (856) | A three-hour, 80-mark paper with 20 short-answer marks and five 12-mark answers from eight; two projects | Complete long answers written to time |
| Cambridge IGCSE (0455) and A Level (9708) | IGCSE: multiple choice and structured questions. A Level: multiple choice, data response and essays | Command words at IGCSE; essay planning without a set structure at full A Level |
| IB Economics SL/HL | Paper 1 extended response, Paper 2 data response, Paper 3 policy (HL only), internal assessment | Real-world examples, evaluation and the commentary skill |
The CBSE home tutor in Jamshedpur and ICSE and ISC home tutor in Jamshedpur pages cover the other subjects on those boards.
The Jharkhand Academic Council conducts the Class 12 examination for its schools, with economics set from the council's own syllabus and books. We describe it only in general terms; the syllabus and paper pattern should come from the council's official site and notices. A tutor for a JAC student should work from the prescribed book and past papers, plan the year to the council's calendar, and teach in Hindi, English or both as your child needs. The news habit described below helps a JAC student as much as anyone, because examples make descriptive answers specific in either language.
A tutor who opens each session with one news item, and asks the student where it fits, trains the reflex examiners reward. The table shows the kind of link a student should be able to make after a few months.
| Type of news item | Where it sits in the syllabus | Question to practise |
|---|---|---|
| The central bank changes its policy rate | Money and banking; monetary policy | How might this affect borrowing, spending and prices? |
| The Union Budget is presented | Government budget; fiscal policy | Which budget objective does a particular measure serve? |
| Vegetable or fuel prices jump | Demand and supply; price determination | Was it a shift in supply or demand, and how do you show it? |
| The rupee weakens against the dollar | Balance of payments and exchange rate | Who gains and who loses: exporters, importers, travellers? |
| New employment or growth figures are released | National income; Indian economic development | What does the figure measure, and what does it leave out? |
The right-hand column is where most students stop short. Saying what a policy does is the first half; weighing who is affected and how much is the half that earns the higher marks on CBSE, ISC, Cambridge and IB alike.
Here is the fourth row worked through, with made-up round numbers. Suppose the rupee moves from ₹80 to ₹84 for one dollar. An exporter who sells goods worth $1,000 now receives ₹84,000 instead of ₹80,000, so exports become more attractive to sell. An importer paying $1,000 for a machine now pays ₹84,000, so imported inputs cost more, and some of that cost may reach consumers as higher prices. A family paying fees abroad in dollars pays more too. A student who can lay out those three effects, then say which matters most for the country in question, has written a strong answer. Building that habit takes a few minutes in each session for a term, not a crash course in the last month.
CBSE asks for one project each session, 3,500 to 4,000 words excluding diagrams, preferably handwritten, and marked for relevance of the topic (3), knowledge and research (6), presentation (3) and a viva (8). The CBSE document suggests choosing a topic from recent news, government policy or bulletins of the central bank, which is exactly where the news habit pays off. ISC students write two projects of 10 marks, each with a viva.
IB students produce a portfolio of three commentaries on published news extracts, each from a different syllabus unit (not the introductory one) and using a different key concept, from a list of nine that includes scarcity, efficiency, equity and sustainability. A tutor may teach the skill on practice articles and explain the criteria; under IB rules, they must never write or rewrite the commentaries. On every board, the research and the writing belong to the student. What a tutor can usefully do is help the student judge early whether a chosen topic or article gives enough material to analyse, before weeks are spent on it.
Rivers, bridges and market hours shape most journeys here. Six neighbourhoods across four parts of the city; the Jamshedpur home tuition page lists the rest.
| Neighbourhood | Way in | Plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Sidhgora | Auto or two-wheeler on the city bank | A doorstep visit on quiet, green streets |
| Sonari | Marine Drive, or the Domuhani bridge from the Chandil side | Societies register visitors: send the tutor's name and vehicle number |
| Parsudih | The station roads, then towards the Chaibasa highway | A buffer for traffic at train times near the main station crossing |
| Burmamines | The station roads from the centre | Write "Burma Mines" too, since both spellings are used |
| Baridih | Straight Mile Road, which ends here | Parking at the door is usually easy in this part of the city |
| Dimna | Across the Subarnarekha via Mango, on NH 18 | Off-peak or online slots while the elevated corridor near Dimna Chowk is built |
The Central Jamshedpur and South Jamshedpur zone guides give more on routes and quiet hours, and our Jamshedpur tuition guide covers the city as a whole.
Economics works well online. A shared whiteboard handles diagrams, a news article can be read on both screens, and an answer can be marked as it is typed or photographed. For IB, A Level and ISC students, online lessons also widen the pool of tutors who know the exact course. Home lessons remain the better start for a Class 11 student facing statistics for the first time, and for a student who loses focus on screen. Statistics in particular rewards a tutor at the table, who can watch each column of a frequency table being filled in and stop an error in the first row rather than the last.
We do not claim that economics tutors live in every neighbourhood. Families anywhere in Jamshedpur can request a home tutor; if nobody suitable can reach you at your hour, online widens the choice to tutors across the city and beyond. For families in Dimna or Mango, where the bridges are the slow part, a weekend home session and a weekday online session is worth considering. See home or online tutoring for more.
Keep a recent marked answer to hand, and ask the tutor to begin from it. Then watch for these:
If the fit is wrong, we set up a demo with the next tutor on the shortlist. Changing tutor later is free.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor's fee is shown before the demo; the Jamshedpur fees article explains the range.
The NTA's CUET (UG) 2026 bulletin lists Economics / Business Economics (code 309) as a domain subject, with 50 compulsory questions in 60 minutes on NCERT's Class 12 syllabus; check the bulletin for your year. Still choosing a stream? Our stream choice guide and Class 11 page are written for Gurugram, but the advice is general.
Send the class, board, the weak skill, your neighbourhood and side of the river, times and a budget. Tutors who join go through an ID check. Commerce students can also see our accountancy tutor in Jamshedpur page; the national economics home tutor guide covers each board in depth, and the English tutor in Jamshedpur page helps with written answers. Teachers can find requests on Jamshedpur tuition jobs.
Examiners reward answers that link theory to real events. A tutor who opens each session with one news item, such as a change in the policy rate or the budget, and asks where it fits in the syllabus, builds that habit. It also helps with choosing project topics.
Yes, you can request one. We look for tutors who use the council's prescribed book and past papers and teach in Hindi, English or both. Our description of the council's paper stays general, so take its syllabus and pattern from the Jharkhand Academic Council's own notices.
A tutor can teach the commentary skill on practice articles, explain the criteria and help judge whether an article gives enough to analyse. Under IB rules, the tutor must never write or rewrite any part of the three commentaries, which have to be the student's own work.
You can request a home tutor in either. Sonari societies register visitors, so share the tutor's name and vehicle number with the gate. Around Dimna Chowk, construction of the elevated corridor slows traffic, so off-peak or online slots keep lessons regular until it is finished.
For most senior students, yes. Diagrams, news articles and essay marking all work on screen, and online lessons widen the pool of IB, A Level and ISC tutors. A Class 11 student starting statistics, or one who loses focus on a screen, may do better with a tutor at home.
CBSE asks for one project each session of 3,500 to 4,000 words excluding diagrams, preferably handwritten, marked for relevance, research, presentation and a viva. A tutor can explain the economics behind the chosen topic and rehearse the viva; the research and writing must be the student's own.
Each tutor sets a personal fee, shown before the free demo. Classes 11 and 12, IB and IGCSE sit toward the upper end of the range given on this page. Travel across a river at your hour can also affect a rate. Our Jamshedpur fees article explains the pattern.
