Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

A JEE student in Hubballi-Dharwad usually carries three things at once: the PU or school course, the state's own entrance test, and JEE Main, with JEE Advanced for some. All three draw on the same physics, chemistry and maths, but each asks for a different kind of answer. A home tutor earns a place in that week by taking on one clear piece of the work and doing it steadily, not by adding a second full course. The exam itself is described in more depth on our national JEE home tutor page.
JEE (Main) is run by the National Testing Agency. Under its 2026 information bulletin, Paper 1 was taken on a computer and covered mathematics, physics and chemistry. Each subject had 25 questions, of which 20 were multiple-choice and 5 needed a numerical answer, so the paper held 75 questions worth 300 marks. Every correct answer added four marks and every wrong one took away a mark, in both sections. There were two sessions and the better score was used, the paper was offered in 13 languages, and there was no age limit.
JEE (Advanced) is set by the IITs for candidates who qualify through Main under the rules of its brochure. Its 2026 edition set two compulsory papers, was offered in English and Hindi, and could be attempted at most twice, in consecutive years. The official sites still showed the 2026 cycle when this page was updated, so check the newest bulletin on jeemain.nta.nic.in and the brochure on jeeadv.ac.in before you plan.
Science students in Hubballi-Dharwad either take the PU route, which ends in the II PUC examination conducted by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board, or finish Class 12 in a CBSE or ISC school. Many also sit the Karnataka CET, the state entrance test run by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, whose admission portal handles applications and option entry for state seats. The three exams overlap in content but not in style.
| Exam | What it rewards | What the tutor watches |
|---|---|---|
| II PUC or Class 12 board | Complete written answers, diagrams, derivations and practical work | That board writing is practised every month, not saved for the final weeks |
| Karnataka CET | Quick, accurate recall across the whole PU syllabus | Speed on familiar question types, read against KEA's current bulletin |
| JEE Main | Problem solving under time, with a cost for wrong answers | Choosing which questions to leave, and the numerical-answer section |
Tell the tutor which of the three matters most this year, and ask how the weekly plan would change in the term before the board exam. Our Karnataka Board tutors in Hubballi-Dharwad page covers the II PUC side, and the KCET tutor page for Bengaluru discusses the state test at more length. Always confirm KCET details on KEA's own site.
Families get more from a JEE tutor when the role is agreed on the first day. Pick one or two of these:
Our guide to coaching versus a home tutor uses Gurugram examples, yet its division of labour carries over to the twin city unchanged.
Hubballi and Dharwad are linked by the BRTS corridor, which runs on its own bus lanes between the central bus terminals of the two cities. Feeder buses have also run between Navanagar and Gandhinagar since December 2022. A family near the middle of the road can therefore consider teachers from both cities; at either end, a tutor from the same side usually lasts longer.
Dharwad has one more feature worth knowing. A large university campus sits south of Saptapur, and many hostels and paying-guest homes have grown up around it, so the tutors on offer there include postgraduate students and research scholars as well as full-time teachers. Before committing to a full PU year, ask how long they expect to stay in Dharwad.
| Locality | Where tutors tend to travel from | Address details to share |
|---|---|---|
| Navanagar | From either city, since it sits on the corridor roughly between the two | Block or layout, house number and the nearest corridor stop |
| Sattur | Along the corridor, which has a stop named Satturu | Layout, cross and whether you are nearer the Dharwad or the Hubballi end |
| Saptapur | Often from within Dharwad, including tutors living near the university | Colony, cross and the nearest circle |
| Gandhinagar | By the corridor or the feeder buses from Navanagar | Rajatgiri, Haripriya Colony, Dhavalgiri or another part, plus the cross number |
| Vidyagiri | Via its own corridor stop, signed Vidhyagiri | Colony, cross and the stop you use |
| Malmaddi | From central Dharwad, using the railway road or the hill as a guide | The cross road and a well-known corner nearby |
The zone pages for Navanagar and the Dharwad Road, Saptapur and Old Dharwad and Malmaddi, Gandhinagar and Vidyagiri describe these areas further. Every locality is on the Hubballi-Dharwad home tutors page, and our Hubballi-Dharwad home tuition guide walks through each zone.
Lay the college or school timetable beside any coaching timetable and look for the gap that survives the busiest month.
| Slot | Good for | Local point |
|---|---|---|
| Early morning, before college | One subject, taught at the table, while the mind is fresh | Easiest for tutors living on your own side of the corridor |
| Weekend morning | A timed practice paper, reviewed the same day | Gives a tutor from the other city time to travel without rushing |
| Late evening | A short online doubt session while the day's problems are fresh | No one has to cross between the two cities after dark |
| Weeks of college tests or practicals | Revision of earlier work; nothing new is started | Keeps the tutor's plan from clashing with the PU calendar |
| Subject | Usual format | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Physics | In person | Mistakes start in the set-up: the free-body diagram, the sign convention, the law chosen. The tutor has to see that happen |
| Mathematics | In person for new topics; marked papers can be gone through on a call | Calculus and coordinate work run over several pages, which is easier to follow across a table |
| Chemistry | Inorganic and organic recall on a call; mole and equilibrium problems in person if they are the weak spot | Recall improves with brief, frequent quizzing, which a call handles well |
Advanced-level problem solving is a narrow skill, and the right teacher for it may live in Bengaluru or further away rather than in either half of the twin city. When physics or maths moves to a call, point a phone camera at the notebook or use a writing tablet, so the tutor reads the working and not just the answer. More on this is in our online tutors for Hubballi-Dharwad page and the article weighing a home tutor against an online one. School-side help in each subject is on our maths, physics and chemistry pages for the city.
The step up from SSLC or Class 10 is sharpest in mechanics, early calculus and mole concept problems. From the first fortnight, keep an error log: each wrong answer, why it went wrong, and the corrected method. Chapters left weak now return in II PUC, where later topics are built on them.
New chapters, revision of the first year, board practicals, mock tests and the state test all compete for the same months. In June, ask the tutor to block out the weeks reserved for written board practice and practicals on a calendar you can both see; otherwise mock tests quietly eat them.
Start with an honest audit of last year's attempt: which questions were skipped, which were wrong and why. Rebuild those chapters first. A free daytime opens up tutors who teach in the mornings, and the current bulletin and brochure should be read for eligibility before the year is planned.
For chapter-level planning, read our JEE maths, JEE physics and JEE chemistry topic guides, or the physics tutor for JEE page. A student in a CBSE or ISC school can also read our CBSE and ICSE and ISC pages for Hubballi-Dharwad.
Not convinced after the demo? Ask us for another tutor; changing later costs nothing either. Our checklist for demo classes has further questions to put.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors price their own lessons, and every fee is on screen before you agree to a demo. The pricing guide explains what moves a fee, and our Hubballi-Dharwad tuition fees article adds the local picture.
To begin, tell us the class, the board or PU combination, which subjects need help, any coaching hours, and your locality plus a landmark. You will get two or three matched tutors to choose from, and the opening lesson is a free demo. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete, as our checking page explains. Tutor profiles are open to browse at any time. Medical aspirants have their own NEET tutors in Hubballi-Dharwad page, and teachers looking for students can visit tuition jobs in Hubballi-Dharwad.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each JEE tutor in Hubballi-Dharwad sets their own fee, and you see it before the free demo.
A Navanagar family can pick from either side, because Navanagar sits on the BRTS corridor roughly between the two cities. That widens the choice of physics and maths specialists. Families at either end of the twin city usually keep a tutor longer when the tutor lives on the same side, so share your nearest corridor stop when you ask.
A II PUC student can balance all three by giving the tutor one clear job and keeping board writing in the plan every month. The board rewards full written answers, the Karnataka CET quick recall across the PU syllabus, and JEE Main timed problem solving with negative marking. Confirm current CET rules on the Karnataka Examinations Authority site.
Yes, a postgraduate student or research scholar near the Dharwad campus can be a sensible choice for JEE physics if the subject knowledge is strong. Saptapur has many hostels and paying-guest homes for the university, so such tutors are common there. Ask how long they expect to stay in Dharwad before planning a full PU year together.
JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 had 75 questions worth 300 marks, with 25 per subject: 20 multiple-choice and 5 numerical-answer. A correct answer earned four marks and a wrong one lost a mark, in both sections. There were two sessions and the better score counted. Check the newest NTA bulletin before planning, as patterns can change.
For a Gandhinagar or Vidyagiri student, physics usually works at home, because the tutor must watch the problem being set up. New maths topics also suit the table, while marked papers can be reviewed on a call. Chemistry recall works well online. Both localities have BRTS stops, which helps tutors from either city reach them.
Yes, a student from Kannada medium can prepare for JEE in English with a tutor who checks the English technical terms from the start. JEE Main 2026 was offered in 13 languages, so read the current bulletin for the paper language that suits your child. Mention the earlier medium when you ask for a tutor.
A repeat-year JEE student should begin with an audit of last year's attempt, marking which questions were skipped or wrong and why. Rebuild those chapters first. Free daytime hours open up more tutors. Read the eligibility rules in the current JEE Main bulletin and JEE Advanced brochure before fixing the plan.
NXTutors shortlists JEE tutors from the student's class, board, the subjects that need help, the locality and free hours, then sends two or three matched tutors. Each fee is shown before the first class, which is a free demo. Ask the tutor to solve one problem you found hard in that demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
