Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

A senior physics student in Hubballi or Dharwad is rarely writing for one exam. A PU science student has the II PUC paper and often the Karnataka CET, JEE Main or NEET as well; CBSE pupils face their own Class 12 board paper and can sit those tests too. No two of these mark physics alike. A full derivation wins marks in one, a quick elimination in another, and a habit that helps on one paper can cost marks on the next. A home tutor's work is to repair the weak step, rehearse each exam in its own format, and stop entrance practice from swallowing the board paper. NXTutors puts forward two or three physics tutors familiar with those papers and able to get to your part of the twin city; their fees are on the shortlist before any meeting, and the first class is a free demo.
Settle the main target before anything else. Answer length, the number of steps shown, and whether a doubtful option is worth marking all follow from it.
| Exam | Physics in it | Scoring | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| II PUC (KSEAB) | 70-mark theory in Parts A to D, plus a 30-mark practical | Written; diagrams and working required where needed | Formula, substitution and unit in every numerical |
| CBSE Class 12 | 33 compulsory questions for 70 theory marks; 30 more from practicals | Written; calculators barred | Derivations, ray diagrams, careful reading of cases |
| Karnataka CET (2026 bulletin) | Its own paper: 60 multiple-choice questions of one mark | No negative marking | Pace, and coverage of both PU years |
| JEE Main (2026) | 25 of 75 questions, 5 with a numerical answer | Four marks gained per correct answer, one lost per wrong one | Multi-step problems and judging when to leave one |
| NEET (UG), 2026 | 45 of 180 questions, 180 of the 720 marks | Same +4 and −1 rule | Textbook precision and restraint with guesses |
The conducting body, not the school board, fixes an entrance syllabus, and it can keep topics a board has removed, so read each bulletin before striking anything off. For priorities, see our JEE physics topic-wise plan and the NEET physics chapters that repay the most time; how we match for each test is set out on our JEE physics tutor and NEET physics tutor pages.
II PUC is conducted by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board. Its physics blueprint spreads 70 theory marks across fourteen chapters and four parts:
| Part | What is asked | Marks | Practise at home |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | Twenty one-mark items, every one compulsory | 20 | Rapid recall of laws, units and definitions |
| B | Five two-mark answers, picked from eight | 10 | Short reasons in two clean sentences |
| C | Five three-mark answers, picked from eight | 15 | Explanations with a small labelled sketch |
| D | Five five-mark answers, picked from nine | 25 | Full derivations and longer numericals |
The model paper adds three rules worth taping above the desk. In Part A only the first attempt at a question is marked, so a second try is wasted ink. An answer that needs a diagram scores nothing without it. And a numerical with no formula or working scores nothing either, however right the final figure. A student used to entrance shortcuts can lose heavily here, which is why a tutor should mark written PU answers every week, not only in the month before the preparatory exams. Download this year's blueprint from the board's PU examination portal; our Karnataka board tutor in Hubballi-Dharwad page covers the rest of the PU route.
The board's practical scheme gives physics 30 marks: 20 for the experiment done on the day, 5 for attendance at practical classes and 5 for the record. Attendance is up to the student. The other 25 are where a home tutor helps: checking that each record entry has its aim, circuit or ray diagram, table of readings and result; asking why readings are repeated; and making sure your child can say what the slope of a graph stands for. These marks reward steady work and are the first to slide when entrance practice takes over the evenings.
The 2026-27 sample paper keeps last year's design. Electricity and magnetism hold 33 of the 70 theory marks, optics together with electromagnetic waves 18, modern physics 12, and semiconductor electronics 7, a unit that has dropped transistors and logic gates. Section A opens with sixteen one-mark items, twelve of them multiple-choice and four assertion–reason; then come five questions of two marks, seven of three, two case-based questions of four, and finally three long answers worth five each. Barely 38% of the marks reward recall alone. Physical constants are printed on the paper; a calculator may not be used.
In the practical, two experiments earn 14, the viva 5 and the record 5, while an activity and the investigatory project bring 3 apiece. A complete record shows eight or more experiments and six activities, half from each section, along with the project write-up. Derivations that come up year after year are collected in our Class 12 physics strategies, and a month-by-month plan is on the Class 12 physics tutor page.
A mark on its own tells you little. Whether the test came from college or an entrance course, the session after it should put each lost mark into one of three groups and build next week's plan from them:
Bring the latest marked test to the free demo; someone who really knows physics can look it over and point to the failing step before starting a lesson. To weigh an entrance course against home tuition, read JEE coaching or a home tutor and its NEET counterpart.
I PUC and Class 11 mechanics depend on vectors, graphs and rates of change, and the same tools come back in second-year electricity and optics and in every entrance test. Fixing them in the first term is far cheaper than repairing them during the board year. More on our Class 11 physics tutor page, and in the guide to choosing a stream.
Few teachers in the twin city specialise in these courses, so start looking early. Pairing an online specialist with a nearby tutor who marks written work is a common answer.
With college ending late, senior physics usually happens after dark, and a regular slot only survives if the tutor's journey is simple. Search tutors by locality on our Hubballi-Dharwad page.
When a practical or a mock overruns, keep the lesson by switching it online for that evening instead of dropping it.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Rates are each tutor's own, and usually move with the exam in view, the tutor's experience of it, an evening journey to your door and how many lessons you want weekly; the online price may not match the home one. All fees appear before the demo, and our Hubballi-Dharwad home tuition fees article suggests questions.
Our matching needs six things: the year (I or II PUC, Class 11 or 12), the board, the exam that matters most, when college or an entrance course runs, your locality and a landmark, and which evenings are open. You receive two or three physics tutors with their fees and pick one to meet at a free demo. If it does not click, a second demo follows; a change of tutor later is free as well. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how we check tutors). Our base is Sector 66, Gurugram, with online lessons anywhere in India. Other cities appear on the national physics home tutor page, while our maths and chemistry pages for Hubballi-Dharwad deal with the two remaining CET papers.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Physics tutors in Hubballi-Dharwad set their own rate, often by the target exam, the evening trip and lessons a week. Every fee shows before the free demo.
The II PUC physics theory paper carries 70 marks over fourteen chapters in four parts. Part A has twenty compulsory one-mark items, Part B five two-mark answers from eight, Part C five three-mark answers from eight, and Part D five five-mark answers from nine. The current blueprint is on the KSEAB PU exam portal.
Most lose marks to the board's writing rules, not to physics. The II PUC model paper gives nothing for an answer that needs a diagram but lacks one, or for a numerical without formula and working, and only the first attempt in Part A is marked. A tutor should correct written answers every week.
The PU practical scheme gives 20 marks for the experiment on the day, 5 for attendance and 5 for the record. A Hubballi-Dharwad tutor can help with the record and the experiment by checking each entry's aim, diagram, reading table and result, and by asking what a graph's slope means.
The CET has no negative marking, while JEE Main takes a mark off for each wrong answer. Under the 2026 bulletins, CET physics was 60 one-mark multiple-choice questions, and JEE Main had 25 physics questions scored +4 and −1. A Dharwad tutor should agree a guessing rule for each exam and practise it on timed sets.
Electricity and magnetism carry 33 of the 70 CBSE Class 12 theory marks, optics with electromagnetic waves 18, modern physics 12 and semiconductor electronics 7. The paper has 33 questions, no calculators and only about 38% recall. The 30 practical marks cover two experiments, the record, an activity, a project and a viva.
Either works, and many Vidyanagar students mix the two. The locality sits on the BRTS corridor, so a home tutor from Hubballi or Dharwad can reach it, but long PU days push lessons early or late. On days when college overruns, move that lesson online with the same tutor rather than cancel it.
The first year, I PUC or Class 11, is usually the right time. Mechanics there relies on vectors, graphs and rates of change, which return in second-year electricity and optics and in every entrance paper. Securing them in the first term costs far less effort than repairing them during the board year.
NXTutors picks physics tutors from the student's class, board, target exam, locality and free hours, and sends two or three matched tutors. Each fee is shown before the first class, which is a free demo. In that lesson, ask the tutor to work through a numerical your child got wrong, and switching tutor later is free.
