Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Senior chemistry is really three subjects sharing one textbook: calculation in physical chemistry, pattern and exception in inorganic, and long chains of conversions in organic. Students in Hubballi and Dharwad then have to return that knowledge in several shapes. II PUC asks for complete written answers and set-out problems; the Karnataka CET and NEET ask for fast, exact recall on an answer sheet; JEE Main asks for mechanisms and multi-stage working; CBSE asks for reasons and balanced equations. A good home tutor plans each week so that a single round of study feeds all of them. Tell NXTutors the syllabus and your locality, and we suggest two or three chemistry tutors who fit. Their fees are on the shortlist before you meet, and the first lesson is a free demo.
| Paper | Format | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| II PUC chemistry (KSEAB) | Ten units for 70 theory marks; numerical problems get a part to themselves | Full written answers and tidy working |
| CBSE Class 12 | Five sections, 33 questions with no overall choice, 70 marks; practical worth 30 more | Written reasons, balanced equations, careful numericals |
| Karnataka CET | In 2026, its own chemistry paper: 60 questions, one mark each, nothing deducted for errors | Speed and reach across both PU years |
| NEET (UG) | In 2026, chemistry filled 45 of the 180 questions; four marks for a correct answer, minus one for a wrong one | Exact NCERT statements |
| JEE Main | In 2026 Paper 1, chemistry was a third of the 75 questions, five of its 25 needing a numerical answer, same +4/−1 rule | Mechanisms and multi-step physical chemistry |
Every year NTA republishes its exam patterns and the Karnataka Examinations Authority reissues the CET bulletin; plan from the newest versions. For priorities, see our guides to important NEET chemistry chapters and JEE chemistry by branch; our NEET chemistry tutor page shows how matching works for the medical entrance.
KSEAB, the state examining board, conducts II PUC. Its chemistry blueprint for the coming exam puts 70 marks over ten units in these parts:
PU chemistry books exist in a Kannada-medium and an English-medium version, and a revised edition came out in 2023. The tutor should teach from that edition in your child's exam language; an older copy handed down in the family can steer revision to the wrong pages. Download this year's blueprint from the board's PU examination portal, and see our Karnataka board tutor in Hubballi-Dharwad page for the full PU picture.
In the II PUC model paper, log tables and a basic calculator are permitted and a scientific calculator is not. The CBSE Class 12 chemistry paper permits no aid at all. So a student who switches boards, or a CBSE candidate who is also sitting the CET, should practise both ways: fast table work for PU numericals and rough estimation by hand for CBSE. Entrance tests publish their own rules on aids. Ask the tutor at the demo how they deal with this; the reply shows quickly whether they know your child's paper.
The 2026-27 paper repeats last year's design, and CBSE fixes the marks for each chapter. Organic chemistry is the largest branch at 33 marks. Aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids bring 8; biomolecules 7; and haloalkanes and haloarenes, alcohols, phenols and ethers, and amines 6 apiece. Here the marks go to students who can write a conversion as a connected route.
Physical chemistry follows at 23, with electrochemistry on 9 and solutions and chemical kinetics on 7 each; these marks are lost mainly to units and powers of ten. Inorganic chemistry is worth 14, split evenly between the d- and f-block elements and coordination compounds, and every trend there needs a short reason. Around two-fifths of the paper rewards recall and understanding. The remainder expects application, analysis or evaluation, and a few questions offer an internal choice. Our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide goes chapter by chapter, and the Class 12 chemistry tutor page plans the board year.
For 2026-27 CBSE has taken out the solid state and the p-block's Groups 15 to 18 entirely. It has kept four topics in the book but left their assessment to schools: surface chemistry, how elements are isolated, polymers, and chemistry in daily life. An entrance syllabus is a separate document and may still contain parts the board cut, including some p-block chemistry, so check it before crossing anything out. PU students should apply the same rule to the CET, whose syllabus the Karnataka Examinations Authority publishes on its own.
| Branch | How marks slip | In the session |
|---|---|---|
| Physical | Right formula, then a wrong unit, sign or logarithm | The student solves aloud while the tutor watches each line |
| Organic | Reactions learned as a list, so a two-step conversion stalls | A one-page map linking alcohols, carbonyls, acids and amines, redrawn from memory weekly |
| Inorganic | A trend stated without its cause, or in loose words | Quick oral rounds using the textbook's own phrasing |
| Written answers | Objective practice crowds out board writing | Two "give reasons" questions at the end, marked on the spot |
Thirty marks are at stake. Titration and salt analysis carry 8 each, an experiment linked to the content 6, the project 4, and the record together with the viva 4. This year the titration is permanganate against either oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, and students must weigh and prepare their own standard solution. A tutor cannot bring a burette home, yet can drill the molarity sums, a clean reading table, the order of tests in salt analysis, a realistic project idea, and likely viva questions, such as why no extra indicator is needed with permanganate.
Here is how arrangements differ in six localities spread over the centre, the Dharwad road and the Gokul Road side. Search by area on our Hubballi-Dharwad page.
Old Hubli is the city's historic core, with close lanes where house numbers do not always follow on; describe the way in by a circle or a shop that everyone knows. Bengeri, on the north side, has its old village core and newer layouts; tell the tutor which, and give the layout name or the cross road.
Vidyanagar sits on the main road towards Dharwad with its own BRTS stop, so tutors from either city can reach it; long PU days often push chemistry to early morning or late evening. Unkal pairs the old village by its lake with newer layouts; name the corridor stop and say which part you are in.
Rajendra Nagar and Manjunath Nagar are among the colonies reached from Gokul Road, and several nearby names sound alike, so give the colony and the cross road together. Decide early whether weekday evenings or a longer weekend session suit you, and say so in the request.
Close to the preparatory exams, switch one visit a week to an online lesson whenever travel turns unpredictable, so revision never pauses.
Tutors for these courses are thinner on the ground in the twin city, so start early; an online specialist teamed with a nearby tutor who corrects written answers often fills the gap. Families planning ahead can read our Class 11 chemistry tutor page on why moles, equilibrium and first organic chapters need care in the first year.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Chemistry tutors here quote their own rates, usually reflecting the target exam, how often they have taught it, the evening trip to your door and how many lessons a week you need. You can compare every fee before the demo, and our Hubballi-Dharwad home tuition fees article suggests questions.
Useful details: I or II PUC or Class 11 or 12; the syllabus; the exam that matters most; the branch causing trouble; college or entrance-class hours; your locality and a landmark; and the evenings that are open. We send two or three chemistry tutors with their fees, and you choose one for a free demo. If the first does not suit, another demo is arranged, and switching tutor later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how we check tutors). Our office is in Sector 66, Gurugram, and online classes run anywhere in India. The national chemistry home tutor page lists other cities, and our NEET home tutor in Hubballi-Dharwad page covers the medical entrance.
If you teach chemistry and live in Hubballi or Dharwad, open family requests are listed on the Hubballi-Dharwad tuition jobs page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Chemistry tutors in Hubballi-Dharwad quote their own rates, shaped by the exam, the evening trip and lessons a week, and every fee is shown before the free demo.
II PUC chemistry has 70 marks over ten units. Part A has twenty compulsory one-mark items, Part B three of five two-mark questions, Parts C and E eight of fifteen three-mark questions including numerical problems, and Part D four of six five-mark questions. Take the current blueprint from the KSEAB PU exam portal.
Yes, a simple one: the II PUC model paper allows log tables and a basic calculator, but not a scientific calculator. CBSE Class 12 chemistry allows neither. A Hubballi-Dharwad student who also prepares for the CET or switches boards should practise table work and hand estimation, and check each entrance bulletin for its own rules.
Organic chemistry carries the most, 33 of the 70 theory marks in 2026-27, with aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids alone worth 8. Physical chemistry brings 23, led by electrochemistry at 9, and inorganic 14, split between the d- and f-block elements and coordination compounds. About two-fifths of the paper tests recall and understanding.
No, not without checking the entrance syllabus first. CBSE removed the solid state and p-block Groups 15 to 18 for 2026-27, but entrance syllabi are published separately and can keep dropped material. The CET syllabus comes from the Karnataka Examinations Authority, not the PU blueprint, so read each official document before crossing anything off.
The tutor should use the current PU chemistry book in the medium your child writes in. The PU department publishes Kannada-medium and English-medium versions, and the chemistry book was revised in 2023, so an older copy from a sibling can send revision to the wrong pages. Confirm the edition at the free demo.
The main difference between the two chemistry papers is negative marking, which NEET uses and the CET does not. Under the 2026 bulletins, CET chemistry had 60 one-mark questions, while NEET chemistry was 45 of 180 questions scored +4 and −1. A tutor should train an attempt-everything habit for the CET and careful selection for NEET, both built on exact NCERT recall.
Each of these three localities needs a different address detail for a visiting chemistry tutor. In Old Hubli, describe the route by a known circle or shop, since house numbers may not follow on. In Unkal, say whether you live in the old village or a newer layout and name the corridor stop. In Rajendra Nagar, give the colony and cross road together.
Chemistry tutors are picked from your child's class, board, target exam, locality and free hours, and NXTutors sends two or three matched tutors. Each tutor's fee is shown before the first class, which is a free demo. Use that lesson to watch how the tutor explains a mechanism or a numerical, and switching tutor later is free.
