Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

For a Ludhiana student hoping to study medicine, the problem is rarely a shortage of material. School gives one set of notes, a NEET course or self-study plan gives another, and every book promises to be the last one needed. What usually goes missing is checking: has the NCERT biology read last week actually stayed, and can the student still solve the physics numericals once the class has moved on? This page shows how families in Ludhiana hand exactly that work to a tutor, how the Punjab board's Class 12 biology paper compares with NEET, how to sit paper mocks at home, and how tutors reach six localities from Kitchlu Nagar to Jamalpur. The national NEET home tutor page covers the exam and syllabus in depth.
According to the NTA's 2026 bulletin, NEET (UG) is a single pen-and-paper sitting of three hours with 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions: 90 in biology, covering botany and zoology, and 45 each in physics and chemistry. A right answer earns four marks and a wrong one costs one, for 720 in all. Candidates had to be at least 17 by 31 December of the exam year, with no upper limit. Where scores tie, biology is compared first. The National Medical Commission sets the syllabus, whose ten biology units follow the Class 11 and Class 12 NCERT books. Every detail here should be checked again on neet.nta.nic.in for your child's year.
Booking a tutor for all three subjects at once is rarely a good use of money or of a crowded week. Give the tutor jobs nobody else is doing:
| Subject | The tutor's job | Sign it is working |
|---|---|---|
| Biology | Frequent recall checks on the current NCERT chapter: processes written out, diagrams labelled from memory, terms used precisely | Fewer marks lost on statements the student "knew" |
| Physics | Rebuilding one concept at a time, then timed numericals with the working watched | The student can start a problem without waiting for a hint |
| Chemistry | Physical-chemistry numericals where they lag; short recall tests for inorganic and organic | Reaction and property questions answered quickly and accurately |
To choose where to start, count wrong answers by subject across the last few tests. Whichever subject is costing the most marks gets the tutor first; the others stay under review. If you are weighing a coaching course against a tutor, our article on coaching or a home tutor for NEET was written for another city, but its way of splitting the work carries over.
This is an illustration for a Class 12 student, not a rule. It separates biology, which rewards short and frequent checks, from physics, which needs fewer but longer sittings with the tutor present.
| When | What happens | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Most mornings | The student reads the current NCERT biology chapter alone | Self-study |
| Two weekday evenings | A short recall check on that reading | Online, so nobody travels after dark |
| One weekday straight after school | Physics: stuck questions, one concept rebuilt, timed numericals | At home, before main roads fill |
| One further weekday | Chemistry numericals, or recall if that is the weak area | Home or online |
| Saturday or Sunday morning | A full paper under exam conditions, then its review | At home |
Our Ludhiana zone notes mention evening crowding on Chandigarh Road, Hambran Road and the roads around the railway station, and extra traffic near Focal Point and the older industrial areas when units open and close. Home visits soon after school avoid most of it. In winter, when evenings are dark and cold early, move the latest sessions online.
Many Ludhiana NEET candidates sit Punjab School Education Board papers in Class 12, and the two exams reward different habits. The board's own 2026-27 structure for biology shows the contrast clearly.
| Feature | PSEB Class 12 biology | NEET biology |
|---|---|---|
| Marks | 70 theory, 25 practical, 5 internal (INA) | 90 of the 180 questions |
| Question types | One-mark multiple-choice and assertion-reason parts, then two-, three- and five-mark written answers | Multiple choice only |
| Diagrams | At least one diagram-based short answer and one "draw, label and explain" long answer | Read and interpreted, never drawn |
| Other features | A comparison question and a case-study or application question; no true/false or fill-in-the-blank items | Negative marking, so guessing has a cost |
The overlap in content is large, because both rest on the same core topics such as reproduction, genetics and evolution, and biotechnology. The danger is the switch in style. A student who drills only multiple choice can lose board marks on labelled diagrams and comparisons; one who writes only long answers can be slow and careless on NEET's fast multiple-choice questions. A good tutor keeps both alive, for instance a recall check in MCQ form midweek and one board-style diagram answer every weekend. The board's chemistry structure for 2026-27 has the same 70, 25 and 5 split, with numericals at around a fifth of the marks. See our biology and chemistry pages for Ludhiana, and the Punjab board tutors in Ludhiana page for the board itself. CBSE and ICSE students can read the CBSE and ICSE and ISC pages.

The 2026 bulletin offered an English booklet, a bilingual Hindi and English booklet, and English paired with a regional language, 13 languages in all. If your child studied science in Punjabi or Hindi at school, check the current list, decide the booklet language well before Class 12, and practise biology terms in that language from the start. Ask for a tutor who can explain a process in the language your child thinks in and then insist on the exact term the paper will use.
| Stage | Focus | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Class 11 | Half the biology units and the base of physics; an error log from the first month | Physics left to "later", which rarely arrives |
| Class 12 | New units, steady Class 11 revision, paper mocks from winter | Board diagrams and practical work squeezed out by MCQ practice |
| Repeat year | Last year's papers diagnosed, weak units rebuilt, many full mocks | Re-reading without testing; daytime sessions widen the choice of tutor |

Count wrong answers by subject across your child's last few tests and start with whichever costs the most marks. Physics is a frequent choice because numericals need watched practice, but biology details the student believed they knew can lose as many marks. Keep the other subjects under review rather than booking three tutors.
Usually both. Physics suits home sessions with a tutor who lives near you, since each step needs watching. Biology recall checks are short and frequent, so they work online on weekday evenings. Chemistry splits: physical numericals at home, inorganic and organic recall online. Winter evenings make online the steadier choice for late slots.
The board's 2026-27 structure has 70 theory marks with written answers, a diagram-based short answer, a draw-label-and-explain long answer and a case-study question, plus practical and internal marks. NEET biology is 90 multiple-choice questions with negative marking. The content overlaps heavily; the answering style does not, so practise both.
The 2026 bulletin offered English, a bilingual Hindi and English booklet, or English with a regional language, 13 languages in all. Check whether the current list includes your child's preferred language, decide before Class 12, and practise biology terms in that language. A tutor who explains in both languages helps.
Requests come from across the city, from Kitchlu Nagar, Haibowal and Civil Lines to Miller Ganj, Jamalpur and the eastern sectors. We look for tutors close to you first, then within your zone and the city, then online. Share your locality, a landmark and any course timings when you ask.
On paper with a separate answer sheet, because the 2026 exam was pen and paper, and for the full three hours without a phone nearby. A weekend morning is usually quietest. Mark strictly at plus four and minus one, then review blanks, misreads and guesses with the tutor.
