Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Chemistry goes wrong in three distinct ways. In physical chemistry a student knows the formula and drops a power of ten. In organic chemistry the reactions blur into one another. In inorganic chemistry a trend is half remembered and the reason is missing. A Ludhiana student in Class 11 or 12, often with school, a NEET or JEE batch and a board paper all running at once, rarely gets time to tell which of the three is costing marks. A home chemistry tutor can find out and fix it, one branch at a time. NXTutors offers two or three chemistry tutors suited to the syllabus and able to reach your colony; their fees are visible before you decide, and the first lesson is a free demo.
The CBSE Class 12 theory paper (subject code 043) is worth 70 marks over 33 compulsory questions, with another 30 for the practical. In the 2026 NEET (UG), chemistry made up a quarter of the paper (45 questions; 180 out of 720 marks), on paper. In JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 it took 25 of 75 questions, with five needing a number keyed in rather than an option. Each NTA exam scored a correct response at +4 and an incorrect one at −1, and NTA re-issues the pattern every year, so read the current bulletin. Under the Punjab School Education Board, the Class 12 chemistry paper follows the board's own scheme, which is published on pseb.ac.in.
The board paper pays for written reasons and tidy numericals; NEET pays for exact NCERT recall at speed; JEE pays for mechanisms and multi-stage physical chemistry. Our posts on important NEET chemistry chapters and JEE chemistry by branch go deeper, and the chemistry tutor for NEET page explains the matching.
CBSE fixes a mark for each of the ten Class 12 chapters, and for 2026-27 the paper's design is unchanged. Grouped by branch, the picture looks like this:
| Branch | Chapters and marks | Total | What the home lesson targets |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organic | Haloalkanes/Haloarenes (6) → Alcohols, Phenols, Ethers (6) → Aldehydes, Ketones, Carboxylic Acids (8) → Amines (6) → Biomolecules (7) | 33 | Conversions written as chains, named reactions, distinguishing tests |
| Physical | Solutions (7), Electrochemistry (9), Kinetics (7) | 23 | Numericals solved slowly, units and powers of ten checked on each line |
| Inorganic | d- and f-block (7), Coordination Compounds (7) | 14 | Trends given with one clear reason; naming and isomerism of complexes |
Organic chemistry is almost half the theory paper on its own, which is why a tutor who waits until the second term to begin it puts the board result at risk.
Sections A to E carry the 33 questions, with internal choice in a handful. No calculator, no log table. About 40% of marks go to remembering and understanding, and about 60% to using, analysing and judging, which is exactly where brief "give reasons" answers win or lose. There is a single main Class 12 exam. Chapter-by-chapter detail sits in our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide, and the Class 12 chemistry tutor page shows a board-year plan.
For 2026-27 CBSE has cut two topics from Class 12 completely: the solid state, plus Groups 15 to 18 within the p-block. A further four stay in the teaching but never reach the board paper, because the school marks them: surface chemistry, polymers, chemistry in everyday life, and how elements are extracted from ores.
Here is the trap for a coaching student. NTA writes its entrance syllabi independently, and material CBSE has dropped, some of the p-block for example, can still turn up in NEET or JEE. Plan board revision from the CBSE list, but read NTA's before crossing anything out.
A home session works well when it follows the batch, not when it races ahead. Rotating the branches keeps all three alive:
| Week | Branch in focus | In the session | Before the tutor leaves |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Physical | Two numericals from the batch sheet worked line by line while the tutor watches | Two "give reasons" questions, marked on the spot |
| 2 | Organic | One sheet linking alcohols, carbonyl compounds, acids and amines, redrawn from memory and checked against NCERT | A conversion question written as a chain |
| 3 | Inorganic | Quick-fire questions from NCERT lines, with the reason for each trend said aloud | Naming and isomer questions on complexes |
Over a term, the organic sheet becomes a route map, so conversion questions stop feeling like separate facts.
Thirty marks: titration 8, salt analysis 8, a theory-linked experiment 6, the project 4, and 4 shared by the record and the viva. In this session the titration uses potassium permanganate against either oxalic acid or Mohr's salt (ferrous ammonium sulphate), and every student weighs out and makes the standard solution personally.
Without a burette in sight, a home tutor can still drill the molarity sum for the weighed mass, a neat record of initial and final readings, the sequence from preliminary to confirmatory tests in salt analysis, and a project small enough for the student to defend. Viva regulars are worth rehearsing too; one classic asks why permanganate needs no extra indicator.
Teachers for ISC, IB and IGCSE are thinner on the ground, so raise the course in your first message. If none can come to the house, combine an online specialist with a nearby tutor for written work.
Senior students often need an evening slot, and evenings are when Pakhowal Road and the market streets slow down. These six colonies show what to arrange; every colony's tutors are listed on our Ludhiana page.
Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, often called SBS Nagar, sits between the Pakhowal Road and Ferozepur Road sides in lettered blocks of houses, plots and builder floors. Blocks share similar names, so give the block letter with the house number. Tutors from Model Town, Dugri or Sarabha Nagar reach it easily; Pakhowal Road is slow when schools close. In Sarabha Nagar, independent houses line plotted streets, parking on inner streets is usually easy, and a nearby turning helps because lanes look alike.
Gurdev Nagar sits between the Pakhowal Road side and the colonies around Haibowal, so tutors can come from Sarabha Nagar or Model Town without crossing the city. Its main roads slow in the evening rush, so fix a weekday slot. In Model Gram, families who own tend to live in independent houses and many renters in flats; tell the caretaker the tutor's name and visiting days.
Shimlapuri and New Shimlapuri are mainly independent houses close to Industrial Area-B; some inner lanes are narrow, so a two-wheeler suits, and shift-change hours are worth avoiding. Dugri mixes the old village area with Urban Estate Dugri; in the estate a house number is enough, while near the old centre a landmark and phone number help on the first visit.
In the pre-board weeks, an unreliable evening route is a reason to switch one visit a week to online, not to drop it. The Ferozepur Road West and Pakhowal Road and Dugri zone pages, and our Ludhiana home tuition guide, have more.
Moles, equilibrium and the first organic chapters are not finished when Class 11 ends. They return inside solutions, electrochemistry and every Class 12 conversion, for the board and the entrance exams. Fixing them in Class 11 usually takes less effort than patching them while the board year is running. Read about a chemistry tutor for Class 11, or our national chemistry home tutor page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors decide their own rates. A JEE or NEET goal and long experience with it push a fee up; so can an evening ride to your colony and more sessions each week. Fees are on the shortlist before the demo, and our Ludhiana home tuition fees article covers what to ask.
Tell us the class, the syllabus and the main exam; which branch is leaking marks; when coaching meets; your colony with a landmark; and which evenings are free. You receive two or three chemistry tutors with fees attached and pick one for a free demo. If it is not right, a second demo is arranged, and swapping tutors later costs nothing. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (how we check tutors). Should nobody suitable be able to travel to you, we offer online or blended lessons instead. NXTutors operates from Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online in every state. NEET families can read this page with Ludhiana's biology and physics pages, or see NEET home tutors in Ludhiana.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every Ludhiana chemistry tutor sets their own rate; a NEET or JEE goal, an evening ride to your colony and more sessions each week can push it up, and all shortlisted fees are shown before the demo.
Ludhiana Class 12 students should start organic chemistry first because it carries the most CBSE marks, with 33 of the 70 theory marks across five chapters. Physical chemistry carries 23, led by electrochemistry at 9, and inorganic 14, so a tutor should start organic early in the session.
No, a Ludhiana NEET or JEE student should not skip CBSE-removed chemistry topics without checking NTA's syllabus. For 2026-27 CBSE dropped the solid state and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block, but NTA writes its own entrance syllabi, so use the CBSE list for boards and the NTA list for entrance work.
A Ludhiana home tutor can rehearse everything in the chemistry practical except handling the apparatus. Titration and salt analysis carry 8 marks each, a theory-based experiment 6, the project 4 and the record with viva 4; the tutor drills molarity working, readings, the salt-analysis sequence and viva questions.
Yes, we look for Ludhiana chemistry tutors who teach PSEB Class 11 and 12 from the board's own books, in the language your child writes answers in. We do not set out the PSEB chemistry paper, because the board publishes its own scheme on pseb.ac.in, so plan revision from that.
A Ludhiana chemistry tutor should follow the coaching batch, not race it, rotating the three branches week by week. Physical chemistry gets slow, checked numericals, organic a reaction map redrawn from memory, and inorganic quick NCERT questioning with reasons, with two give-reasons answers marked before each session ends.
An SBS Nagar family in Ludhiana should give a new chemistry tutor the block letter with the house number, because blocks share similar names. Most homes are independent houses or builder floors, so the tutor rings at the gate; Pakhowal Road is slow when schools close, so fix a slot.
Yes, Class 11 is often the better time for a Ludhiana student to start chemistry tuition. The mole concept, equilibrium and the first organic chapters return in Class 12 solutions, electrochemistry and conversions, and fixing them early is less costly than repairing them while NEET or JEE preparation is also running.
A Ludhiana family can find ISC, IB or IGCSE chemistry tutors, but they are thinner on the ground, so name the course in your first message. If none can come to the house, combine an online specialist with a nearby tutor who checks written work, such as IB investigations the student shapes alone.
After a Ludhiana parent shares the class, syllabus, exam, weak branch and colony, we reply with two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check.
