Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Class 11 and 12 physics asks a Ludhiana student to be three different candidates. For the board, they must set out derivations and draw clean diagrams. For JEE or NEET, they must solve unfamiliar problems quickly with a penalty for guessing. And for the practical exam, they need a complete record and a calm viva. Most weeks leave room for only one of those. A home physics tutor is useful when they pick up whichever one is slipping, at an hour that works around school and any coaching batch. NXTutors names two or three physics tutors matched to that target and to your colony; you read each fee before choosing, and nothing is charged for the demo.
Most chapters are common to all of these, but each one hands out marks for different things. Agree on the main target at the outset; homework and test practice follow from it.
A chapter missing from the CBSE list may still sit in an NTA syllabus, because NTA writes its own; read its bulletin on nta.ac.in before deciding to skip anything. Priorities by chapter are in our JEE physics plan, topic by topic and the high-yield NEET physics chapters, while the pages for a JEE physics tutor and a NEET physics tutor show how we match for each.
For 2026-27 CBSE has left the design as it was, and groups the fourteen NCERT chapters into four blocks for marking:
| Block | Marks | Where marks commonly slip |
|---|---|---|
| Electrostatics through to alternating current (electricity and magnetism) | 33 | Sign conventions and direction of fields, especially in multi-part questions |
| Optics, with electromagnetic waves | 18 | Ray diagrams without arrows, or with the image drawn in the wrong place |
| Dual nature, atoms and nuclei | 12 | Short numericals rushed, with units dropped |
| Semiconductor electronics | 7 | Studying from old notes: transistors and logic gates are no longer on the syllabus |
Electricity and magnetism alone is close to half the paper, so a tutor who leaves it until winter is storing up trouble. Derivations that keep coming back are gathered in our Class 12 physics strategies; for a month-by-month approach, see the Class 12 physics tutor page.
Thirty-three questions in five lettered sections. A has sixteen one-mark items, of which twelve are multiple-choice and four are assertion–reason. B sets five two-mark questions; C, seven at three marks; D, two case studies at four; and E, three long answers at five. Plain recall earns only about 38% of the marks. Constants are supplied with the questions; a calculator is not. There is a single main board exam in Class 12, and cbse.gov.in has yet to give its 2027 dates.
| Part | Marks | Rehearse at home |
|---|---|---|
| Two experiments, one from each section | 14 (7 each) | Aim, circuit or ray diagram, observation table and the graph's meaning |
| Practical record | 5 | At least eight experiments (four per section), six activities (three per section) and the project report, all complete |
| Activity | 3 | What was observed and why, in two or three lines |
| Investigatory project | 3 | A topic the student genuinely understands and can explain |
| Viva | 5 | Mock questions: why take several readings? what does this slope stand for? what are the sources of error? |
The apparatus stays at school, but every one of these parts can be checked and rehearsed at a dining table, and coaching batches rarely touch any of them.
Not a second lecture. Three gaps are common in a coaching week, and a home session is the right size to fill them. The first is the backlog: problems from the batch sheet that were left unfinished or copied without understanding. The second is the board paper, which needs written derivations, diagrams and lab preparation that an entrance-focused batch does not mark. The third is the test analysis: a mock score means little until each lost mark is sorted into concept, careless slip, or a question wiser to skip. Two articles weigh this up: coaching or a home tutor for JEE and the same question for NEET look at the choice in depth.
It is one notebook shared by student and tutor. For every problem that went wrong, it holds the question as set, the student's original attempt left untouched, one line on what went wrong, and a fresh solution written some days later without help. Each solution follows a fixed order: a diagram with directions marked, the governing law named in words, substitution with units on every line, and a final check that the answer's sign and size are sensible.
Bring this register, or the last two coaching tests, to the free demo. A tutor who knows physics well should be able to read them and name the step that keeps failing before starting to teach.
The Punjab School Education Board prepares and publishes its own textbooks and sets its own Class 12 papers. We leave the pattern to the board: pseb.ac.in has the current version. Families can reasonably expect three things of the tutor: lessons from the PSEB book itself, explanations in Punjabi, Hindi or English as the student prefers, and, where JEE or NEET is also planned, the habit of drawing first and writing units on every line. More on the Punjab board tutors in Ludhiana page.
On any board, help that begins in Class 11 tends to cost less overall, since the vectors and graphs of mechanics run right through Class 12. Read about a physics tutor for Class 11, and our guide to choosing a stream.
Senior students often get home late, which pushes physics into the evening, when the main roads of south and south-west Ludhiana are slow. A tutor from your own side of the city keeps that slot reliable. Compare tutors by colony on our Ludhiana page.
| Colony | Tell the tutor | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Gurdev Nagar | House number and a well-known turning nearby; two-wheeler parking on the street is usually fine | A fixed weekday slot; the central position lets tutors come from either the Sarabha Nagar or the Model Town side |
| Rajguru Nagar | House number and a landmark on Ferozepur Road; for a flat, give the guard the tutor's name | Allow for slow junctions on Ferozepur Road in the evening |
| BRS Nagar | Block letter, house number, floor, and whether there is a lift | An early or late slot avoids the Pakhowal Road peak |
| Pakhowal Road | The colony and side road, not just "Pakhowal Road"; some buildings ask visitors to sign in | Keep clear of the evening rush near the railway crossing |
| Model Gram | For a flat, the caretaker should know the tutor's name and days | Market roads slow in the evening, so agree the slot at the start |
| Model Town | Floor and a phone number for the bell in a builder floor | Families on the market streets often prefer an earlier hour |
On a night when coaching overruns, the same tutor can teach online instead, so the lesson is not lost. The Ferozepur Road West and Pakhowal Road and Dugri zone pages and the Ludhiana home tuition guide have more local detail.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors name their own fee. It moves with the goal (a board paper, JEE Main, JEE Advanced or NEET), how long the tutor has taught for that goal, the evening hour of the trip to your colony and the weekly number of sessions. Every fee is in front of you before the demo, and our Ludhiana home tuition fees article suggests questions to ask.
Send the class and board; the goal, whether board marks, JEE or NEET; the coaching days; your colony with a landmark; and the evenings that are open. We answer with two or three physics tutors and what each charges, and you choose one to meet at a free demo. If that meeting does not work, another demo follows with someone else, and a change of tutor later is also free. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (how we check tutors). When no suitable tutor can travel at that hour, an online or part-online plan is the fallback. NXTutors runs from Sector 66, Gurugram, with online teaching across India. Our national physics home tutor page explains the method, and Ludhiana's chemistry and maths pages round out a JEE timetable.
Physics teachers based in Ludhiana can find students close to home through Ludhiana tuition jobs.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor quotes their own fee, and you see every shortlisted fee before the demo.
Often, if the tutor does something the batch does not. That usually means clearing unsolved problems from the coaching sheet, keeping board derivations and diagrams up to date, preparing the practical record and viva, and sorting each lost mark in a mock test into concept, slip or poor question choice.
The 70 theory marks fall into four blocks for 2026-27: electricity and magnetism 33, optics with electromagnetic waves 18, dual nature with atoms and nuclei 12, and semiconductor electronics 7. Transistors and logic gates are no longer on the syllabus, so older notes need checking before revision begins.
Much of it can. The marks split into 14 for two experiments, 5 for the record, 3 for an activity, 3 for the project and 5 for the viva. A tutor can check every record entry, rehearse observation tables and graphs, and run mock viva questions, even though the apparatus stays at school.
Yes. We look for tutors who teach from the Punjab School Education Board's own textbooks and explain in Punjabi, Hindi or English as your child prefers. We do not describe the PSEB physics paper ourselves, so take the current scheme from pseb.ac.in before planning revision.
In NEET (UG) 2026, physics had 45 of the 180 questions, worth 180 of 720 marks. In JEE Main 2026, it had 25 questions, five of them numerical-answer. Both exams gave four marks for a correct answer and took one away for a wrong one. NTA confirms each new pattern.
Give the colony name and the side road your house is on, not just Pakhowal Road, so the tutor does not overshoot the turning. Some apartment buildings ask visitors to sign in at the gate. The road is slow in the evening and near the railway crossing, so fix a regular slot.
Ideally in Class 11. Mechanics depends on vectors and graphs that return throughout Class 12, and gaps there are slower to repair in the board year. Starting early also leaves time for the practical record and for steady JEE or NEET practice alongside the school syllabus.
