Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Physics in Standards XI and XII is where many Kolhapur students first feel that hard work is not turning into marks. Lectures at junior college or school move on each week, entrance practice for MHT-CET, JEE Main or NEET adds its own load, and nobody has time to look at the student's own attempt and say exactly where it went wrong. That is the gap a home physics tutor fills. Share your child's board, any entrance goal and the part of Kolhapur you live in; NXTutors proposes two or three physics tutors to match. Fees are shown before anyone visits, and the opening lesson with the tutor you pick is a free demo.
A good deal, as long as the hour at home is not a copy of the lecture. Three jobs usually go undone in a busy week:
Our articles on coaching and home tuition for JEE and the same choice for NEET weigh the options. Whatever you decide, the home lesson must not clash with college or coaching.
Much of the syllabus is shared, but each exam rewards something different. Agree with the tutor which one matters most this term, because the homework should follow it.
| Exam | Physics in it | Marking | Priority each week |
|---|---|---|---|
| State Board HSC Physics | A theory paper and practical work, studied over two years | Read the board's present scheme on mahahsscboard.in | Long written answers; an up-to-date journal |
| CBSE Class 12 Physics (042) | Theory out of 70 with 33 questions, none optional; practical out of 30 | Constants printed on the paper; calculators barred | Derivations, figures and case studies |
| JEE Main (as in 2026) | 25 physics items; 5 call for a numerical answer | Four marks gained per right answer, one lost per wrong answer | Long problems, every mistake redone |
| NEET (UG) (as in 2026) | 45 physics items among 180, for a paper of 720 marks taken with pen and paper | Identical negative marking | NCERT facts recalled exactly; guessing only with reason |
| MHT-CET | Conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra | Pattern published on cetcell.mahacet.org | Timed sets once the board chapters are firm |
An entrance syllabus is set by its own testing body and can include chapters a board no longer examines, so check the newest NTA bulletin before any chapter is crossed off. See the Kolhapur JEE and NEET home tutor pages, and the JEE physics tutor page for chapter priorities.
Once the SSC is over, a typical Kolhapur State Board student continues to Standards XI and XII at a junior college, often with MHT-CET as the next goal. Schools on the board teach in Marathi or English, and a student who switches to English after Standard X meets tougher physics and an unfamiliar language together. Put three questions to any tutor:
We do not reprint HSC physics marks here; read the current evaluation scheme on mahahsscboard.in. The board's other subjects are on the Maharashtra Board home tutor in Kolhapur page.
The 2026-27 sample paper keeps the previous session's design. Its fourteen NCERT chapters sit in four blocks, and the blocks are very uneven:
| Block | Marks | Practice |
|---|---|---|
| Electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, induction and AC | 33 | Kirchhoff's rules, field-line sketches, units carried through |
| Electromagnetic waves and optics | 18 | Lens and mirror ray tracing, with the sign rule applied every time |
| Dual nature, atoms and nuclei | 12 | Short numericals and reading graphs correctly |
| Semiconductor electronics | 7 | Diodes only; transistors and logic gates are out, so old notes on them can be set aside |
Close to half the paper comes from the first block alone, so electricity and magnetism deserve steady time from the first month of Class 12. Roughly 38% of the marks reward recall; the rest need application and reasoning. Our Class 12 physics strategies cover the derivations that keep returning, and a month-by-month plan sits on the Class 12 physics tutor page.
All 33 questions must be attempted, across five sections:
Class 12 has one main board exam. No calculator is allowed, so a tutor should keep mental arithmetic and approximation in regular practice.
More than most families think. In CBSE, the 30 practical marks are split as two experiments for 14, the record for 5, an activity for 3, the investigatory project for 3 and the viva for 5. The record must hold at least eight experiments, divided evenly across the two sections, at least six activities divided the same way, and the project report. State Board students follow whatever practical and journal rules the board sets.
Apparatus never leaves school, yet at home a tutor can check each record write-up, rehearse the precautions, discuss where errors creep in, and play examiner for a practice viva: what does the slope of this graph tell you, and why take more than one reading?
A student's written working shows progress more clearly than a mark. Ask the tutor to insist on the same four moves until they become habit: draw the situation with directions or rays marked; state the law being used in one line; substitute with units on every line; and finish by checking that the size and sign of the answer are sensible. Alongside, keep a mistakes notebook: the original attempt untouched, one line saying what failed, and a fresh solution written days afterwards. Show it, or a pair of recent tests, to the tutor during the free demo; someone good will spot the weak step on the page before starting to teach.
Students in Standards XI and XII often reach home late, which pushes physics into the evening. A late slot holds up only if the tutor reaches you easily, so the address details below matter. Our Kolhapur page lists tutors for each area.
Both send many requests for Class 11 and 12 science alongside MHT-CET, JEE Main or NEET. In Rajarampuri, give the lane number first, then the building and floor. In Tarabai Park, start from the New Palace and add the street and building. Evening slots after coaching fill early in the term.
Flats are common, so share the building, wing and floor, and let the watchman or security desk know the tutor's name. Main roads around Shahupuri are busy in the evening, so a tutor from the same side of the city is easier to keep. On a day a parent is away, an online lesson can stand in.
In the old peths, give the galli, house number and nearest chowk. Many Mangalwar Peth students move into Class 11 science after the SSC, which is a good moment to start; families here often prefer a tutor who arrives at one fixed hour.
The Shahupuri and Rajarampuri and Tarabai Park and Kasaba Bawada zone pages add local tips.
Most families find Standard XI the sensible start. Mechanics in that year depends on vectors and graphs, and both reappear throughout Standard XII. See the Class 11 physics tutor page and our stream choice guide.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors fix their own fees. Good questions when comparing: which exam did you teach most recently, how late can you come, and could one lesson a week be online? Each fee appears on the shortlist before the demo, and our Kolhapur home tuition fees guide goes further.
Tell us the class and board, whether the goal is board marks, MHT-CET, JEE or NEET, the hours of college or coaching, your locality and a landmark, and your free evenings. A shortlist of two or three physics tutors arrives with fees, and you invite one for the free demo. A poor fit simply means another demo with someone else, and a later switch is free. Where no suitable tutor can come at your hour, we suggest an online or mixed plan. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Our office is in Sector 66, Gurugram, and online lessons reach every part of India.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Kolhapur physics tutor sets their own fee, shown on the shortlist before the demo, so you can compare before anyone visits.
NXTutors asks for the class, board, entrance goal, college or coaching hours, your locality and your free evenings. We then send two or three physics tutors with their fees. The first lesson is a free demo, and if the tutor does not suit, another shortlisted tutor can give a demo instead.
A home physics tutor adds the slow, personal checking that a coaching batch has no time for. The tutor works through skipped problems, keeps full written board answers in practice, and sorts every lost mark in a test into a concept gap, a slip or a question to skip. Keep the slot clear of batch hours.
The electricity and magnetism block carries the most, 33 of the 70 theory marks in 2026-27. It covers electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, induction and alternating current. Optics and electromagnetic waves bring 18, dual nature, atoms and nuclei 12, and semiconductors 7, so Kolhapur students should start electricity work early in the year.
No, transistors and logic gates are no longer part of the CBSE Class 12 physics course, which now keeps only diodes in semiconductor electronics. That unit is worth 7 theory marks. Older notes on transistors and gates can be set aside for the board exam, though entrance syllabi should be checked separately.
The two experiments carry 14 of the 30 practical marks, the record 5, an activity 3, the investigatory project 3 and the viva 5. The record must contain at least eight experiments and six activities, split evenly between the two sections, plus the project report. A Kolhapur tutor can check entries and run a practice viva.
NEET physics tests quick recall and short reasoning, while JEE Main physics asks for longer multi-step problems. In the 2026 papers, NEET had 45 physics questions among 180 on pen and paper, and JEE Main had 25, including 5 numerical answers. Both gave four marks for a right answer and took one for a wrong one.
A Kolhapur State Board student should practise physics in the language of the exam paper, even if a tutor first explains in Marathi. The board recognises both Marathi-medium and English-medium schools. Students who switch to English after Standard X need extra care with definitions and derivations in the new medium.
Families should share a precise address and the exact hours after college or coaching. In Rajarampuri, give the lane number first, then the building and floor. In Tarabai Park, start from the New Palace and add the street and building. Evening slots fill early in the term, so ask soon.
Starting in Standard XI usually works better than waiting for Standard XII. Mechanics in the first year rests on vectors and graphs, which return throughout the second year and in entrance tests. A firm Class 11 base leaves Class 12 time for revision, the practical record and timed papers.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
