Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Chandigarh
A Class 12 commerce student in Panchkula Sector 21 and one in Chandigarh's Sector 35 may sit different boards and still share one complaint: partnership accounts take too long and never balance. Accountancy, with Economics and Business Studies beside it, makes up the commerce tuition market across the tricity, and it is almost entirely a Class 11 and 12 market.
No open commerce requests in Chandigarh right now. New family requests appear here as they come in; join now so they can reach you.
If you teach any of the three, this page explains how that market works in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula: which boards, which topics, which sectors, and what makes a family pick one commerce tutor over another after the free demo. Real requests, where there are any, are listed further down.
Accountancy is where most requests start. In Class 11 students meet the accounting equation, journal, ledger and trial balance, then depreciation and final accounts; in Class 12 come partnership, reconstitution and dissolution, company accounts and analysis of statements. Every one of those chapters punishes a single wrong figure, so families want a tutor who builds the habit of neat, checked working.
Economics is the second most common request. CBSE students study microeconomics and macroeconomics, and in Class 12 Indian economic development, with graphs and numerical questions on national income that need precise steps. Business Studies tends to be asked for nearer exams, when students realise long answers on management principles and marketing must be structured to earn marks. The sample papers on cbseacademic.nic.in show the expected answer style for CBSE.
Board variety matters here as in other subjects. ISC commerce students write fuller answers and have project work, and students under the Punjab School Education Board on the Mohali side, or the Board of School Education Haryana in Panchkula, study from their own board's prescribed books; teach from those, and confirm each year's syllabus on the board's own website.
The calendar matters for commerce too. Class 11 students who want to start well usually ask in the first months of the CBSE session, which begins in April, when journal entries and ledgers are still new. Class 12 students ask once partnership chapters arrive and again before pre-boards, which many schools hold around the new year. ISC and the two state boards keep their own timetables, so read each date on the board's official site.
Commerce is usually taught twice a week in the evening, which means planning around the return rush between the three towns. In Chandigarh Sectors 31–56 & Manimajra, the southern sectors near the Sector 43 bus terminal suit tutors coming in by bus from Mohali or Zirakpur. In Chandigarh Sectors 1–30, families around the Sector 22 market or Sadar Bazaar may ask you to agree parking before you arrive.
Mohali's older phases are houses on local market streets, quick to reach for a tutor living in the phases. In Panchkula & Zirakpur, Sector 20 and most Zirakpur societies ask visitors to register once at the gate. Accountancy and economics both work online when the student photographs or shares their working each week, so many commerce tutors cover the far side of the tricity on screen.
Put the subject first: 'Class 12 Accountancy, CBSE and ISC' reads better to a worried parent than 'commerce tutor'. Then add classes, boards, the sectors or phases you reach and your evening hours. If you can teach Economics as well, list it second. Mention whether you take Punjab board or Haryana board commerce students, since some tricity families need exactly that.
In the demo, ask the student to attempt a medium-length Accountancy question from their current chapter while you watch. Stop them at the first slip and ask them to find it. Then show one habit, such as preparing a working note or ruling off accounts properly, that would have prevented it. End with a plan for the month. Parents of commerce students want practical progress they can see in a notebook, and a demo like this shows it at once.
Through the year, send the parent a short note every few weeks on which chapters the student can now complete without help and which still need work. In Class 12, add a timed full paper each month from the autumn. Commerce families in the tricity value visible, chapter-by-chapter progress, and that record is the clearest reason for them to keep your slot through the board exam.

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Accountancy, particularly Class 12 partnership and company accounts. Economics comes next, then Business Studies, usually closer to the board exam.
Yes. Many requests are for Accountancy alone, or Economics alone. A tutor who is clearly strong in one subject is often preferred to a generalist.
Some, under the Punjab School Education Board on the Mohali side and the Board of School Education Haryana in Panchkula. Teach from their prescribed books and check the syllabus on the board's official website.
