Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Kandivali, Borivali & Dahisar, Mumbai
At the northern end of the Western line, Kandivali, Borivali and Dahisar give a tutor two things the inner suburbs often cannot: housing that is easy to find, and a dense set of rail and metro links running north to south. Borivali is the busiest station on the Western suburban line and a terminus for many slow, semi-fast and fast trains, so tutors living anywhere up and down the line have a wide choice of services. Add two metro lines and a third heading north, and a tutor based here can build a full week without leaving the zone.

The zone spans both sides of the tracks. Kandivali West includes Mahavir Nagar, with high-rise towers and an evening food street, Charkop's state housing board sectors of row houses and small society buildings, Dahanukarwadi and the old fishing village of Bunder Pakhadi. Kandivali East holds large complexes including the Thakur Village township and Lokhandwala Township near Akurli. Borivali West spreads through IC Colony, Vazira, Eksar, Shimpoli, Mandapeshwar and the Gorai side, while Borivali East includes Magathane, Dattapada and Devipada, with the national park on its eastern edge. Dahisar, part of Thane district until 1956, runs up to the Mira Road border.
Line 2A runs along New Link Road through Dahanukarwadi, Kandivli West, Eksar, Borivali West, Shimpoli, Mandapeshwar and Kandarpada. Line 7 runs along the Western Express Highway past Poisar, Akurli, Magathane, Devipada and Rashtriya Udyan. Both opened their first sections in April 2022 and meet at Dahisar East, where Line 9 has carried passengers north to Kashigaon in Mira-Bhayandar since April 2026. Kandivali station dates from 1907 and has fast and slow trains. The metro depot for Lines 2A and 7 is in Charkop, whose nearest stops are Dahanukarwadi and Kandivli West.
Pick the line by the side of the tracks. West of the railway, Line 2A along New Link Road reaches Charkop, Mahavir Nagar, IC Colony and the Dahisar West stretch at Kandarpada. East of it, Line 7 on the highway serves Thakur Village, the Akurli side, Magathane and Devipada. Homes near the tracks on either side are simplest from Kandivali, Borivali or Dahisar station, followed by a walk or a short auto.
An NXTutors match for this zone begins with tutors living in Kandivali, Borivali or Dahisar, then adds those who travel in along the two metro lines, then others in Mumbai, then online tutors across India. Because the zone is large and well connected inside itself, a tutor who lives here is in a strong position for home requests; tutors from Malad or Goregaon can also list it and arrive by metro. In Borivali East and in Mahavir Nagar, families who need a specialist subject or late slots often mix home visits with online classes, so offering both modes widens what you can take on.
Charkop's numbered sectors make homes easy to find once you have the sector and plot number with a landmark, and its row houses usually mean a knock on the door; society buildings there may ask for a name at the gate. Townships such as Thakur Village check visitors at the main gate and sometimes again in the lobby, and visitor parking inside can be limited. Large complexes in Borivali East often use visitor apps or gate registers. In Borivali West, Kandivali West and Dahisar West, most families live in society buildings with a watchman, so the family shares your name before the first visit.
Link Road and the highway slow down at school closing time and in the evening rush, so a slot just after the peak keeps lessons on time. The Borivali station area is crowded in the evening, and the highway junctions into Thakur Village slow at office hours. In Kandivali East, early-evening or weekend slots are easier to keep regular; in Borivali East, weekday lessons in the early evening are easier to keep regular, with online classes as a fallback.

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Yes. Phase 1 of Line 9, from Dahisar East to Kashigaon in Mira-Bhayandar, has carried passengers since April 2026. Dahisar East is also the interchange between Line 2A and Line 7, so you can change there for homes in Borivali or Kandivali.
Ask for the sector number and the plot or building number, plus a landmark. Charkop was laid out by the state housing board in numbered sectors, so homes are easy to locate once you have those details.
Line 7 along the highway has Rashtriya Udyan, Devipada and Magathane stations. Homes near the tracks are better served by Borivali station on the Western line.
Most buildings are inside gated compounds, so expect a check at the society gate and sometimes again in the lobby. The family should send your name and flat number to security in advance; metro or train plus an auto avoids the parking problem.
Yes. With Borivali's train services, two metro lines and the Line 9 extension, a tutor living here can reach most of the zone in one short ride and teach anyone further away online.
