Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Loni is in Ghaziabad district, Uttar Pradesh, and many of its students sit the examinations of the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, the UP Board: High School at the end of Class 10 and Intermediate at the end of Class 12. Much tuition advice is written for science students, yet the board's arts group has papers of its own, where marks depend on long, well-organised answers in Hindi or English. This page reads three of those papers, History, Civics and Sociology, straight from the board's 2026-27 syllabus files, explains the four school unit tests that run through the year, gives the science papers in brief, and shows how tutors reach each part of Loni. Every board fact here comes from upmsp.edu.in; check it again in your child's exam year.
The board was created in 1921 at Prayagraj by an act of the United Provinces Legislative Council and held its first examination in 1923. It has used the 10+2 pattern from the start: High School after ten years of schooling, Intermediate after Class 12. Its history page lists its main functions as recognising schools, prescribing courses and textbooks for both levels, conducting both examinations, and granting equivalence to the examinations of other boards. The website carries the syllabus, a monthly syllabus, model papers, a question bank, formative assessment material, books, and career guidance for the four Intermediate groups: agriculture, arts, commerce and science. Students are registered in advance in Classes 9 and 11, and registered for the examination in Classes 10 and 12. For examination or result queries, the board's contact page lists its offices.
Children near the Delhi border attend schools on both sides, so a Loni family may move a child from a CBSE school to a UP Board school, or the other way, at some point. The board's equivalence function is the formal side of that move; the new school is the place to ask how it applies to your child. The tutoring side is simpler to plan. A student arriving from CBSE usually knows the content but is new to the board's long written answers and, in a Hindi-medium school, to the terms. A tutor should spend the first weeks on the board's model papers and on writing, not on re-teaching chapters. See our CBSE home tutors in Loni page for the reverse move.
Families often bring in a tutor for maths or science and leave arts subjects to self-study. The board's files suggest that is a mistake. History, Civics and Sociology are each a single 100-mark paper in Class 12, with no practical to lean on, and much of each paper is written answers of five marks or more. A student who knows the content but cannot organise it under time loses marks steadily. A tutor who sets and marks one long answer every session changes that quickly. The three papers below show where the marks sit.
The 2026-27 file sets one 100-mark paper with a minimum of 33 to pass, and 30 questions of six kinds.
| Question type | Number and marks | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Multiple choice | 10 of 1 mark | 10 |
| Very short answer | 5 of 2 marks | 10 |
| Short answer | 6 of 5 marks | 30 |
| Long answer | 3 of 10 marks | 30 |
| Map skills | 5 questions: 1 mark for the answer, 1 for marking the place | 10 |
| Historical chronology | A question on the sequence of historical events | 10 |
Twenty marks come from maps and the timeline, which are among the easiest marks to secure with practice. The file itself advises practising the map questions found in the chapters of all three textbooks, and the timelines and key dates at the end of each chapter. For visually impaired candidates, five 2-mark questions take the place of map work. A tutor can build a ten-minute map and date drill into every session from the start of Class 12.
The Civics file divides the paper into contemporary world politics and politics in independent India, 50 marks each, over six units.
| Part | Unit marks | Question types across the paper |
|---|---|---|
| Section A: contemporary world politics (50) | Unit I 20, Unit II 15, Unit III 15 | 32 questions: 10 multiple choice of 1 mark, 10 very short of 2, 6 short of 5, 4 short of 6, and 2 long of 8 |
| Section B: politics in independent India (50) | Unit IV 16, Unit V 18, Unit VI 16 |
The first unit alone is worth 20, the most of any. Short answers of five and six marks make up 54 of the 100, so the skill that matters most is a compact, well-ordered answer of moderate length, not a long essay. A tutor should time these from the first term.
Sociology is also 100 marks, split into Indian society (50) and change and development in India (50). The weights are spread thinly across fifteen units, from 2 to 10 marks each. Four units carry 10: the demographic structure of Indian society, social institutions, the challenges of cultural diversity, and social movements. A further 5 marks go to a unit of suggestions for project work, covering surveys, interviews and observation. With so many small units, the risk is gaps rather than depth; a tutor should keep a checklist of all fifteen and revisit each in rounds, so none is left unread in March.
The board's model papers and question bank are the right practice material. Our English home tutor in Loni page helps with answer writing in English, and the board and stream guide helps before Class 11.
The History and Sociology files both set out four unit tests in school for remedial teaching, each worth 20. The first, in the second week of July, is multiple choice and includes 10 marks for summer-vacation homework beside a 10-mark test. The second, in the last week of August, is descriptive; the third, in the last week of November, is multiple choice again; the fourth, in the last week of December, is descriptive. The files say these marks are not added to the examination result. They still matter, because each one shows which units need work, and the summer homework is a reason to keep a tutor through the holidays.
For science students, the 2026-27 Class 12 files set physics and chemistry as a 70-mark paper plus a 30-mark practical, with minimums of 23 and 10, and biology as 70 written and 30 practical. Chemistry must include at least 8 marks of numerical questions. Maths is one 100-mark paper with no internal part, and calculus alone is worth 44. Students preparing for entrance tests should read JEE and NEET home tutors in Loni, and the Loni maths, physics and science pages. Other UP Board pages go into single subjects: Ghaziabad for English and Class 11 schemes, and Noida for High School maths and science.
Many UP Board students in Loni write in Hindi, and in the central part of town around Rampark and Khanna Nagar a good share of them do; others write in English, and some children move from a Hindi-medium school to an English-medium one, for example after Class 5. For arts subjects the medium matters even more than in science, because the marks rest on written expression. When you send a request, give the medium of the answer sheet, the class and the subjects, and ask for a tutor who writes model answers in that language.
Zone pages: Rampark and Khanna Nagar, Tronica City and Mandola and Behta Hajipur and Banthla. Every locality is on the Loni home tutors page, and our Loni home tuition guide covers each zone. Tutors from nearby Ghaziabad can also teach here, and where no one nearby covers a subject, online tuition fills the gap.
We send two or three matched tutors and show each fee before the demo; switching tutor later is free. Our demo class checklist has more questions.

The 2026-27 UP Board Class 12 History paper is one 100-mark paper with a pass mark of 33 and 30 questions. Short and long answers carry 60 marks, multiple choice and very short answers 20, and map skills and historical chronology 10 each.
The UP Board History map section has five questions, each worth one mark for the correct answer and one for marking the right place, making 10 marks. Visually impaired candidates get five 2-mark questions instead. The syllabus file advises practising the map questions in all three textbooks.
UP Board Class 12 Civics is divided into two sections of 50 marks: contemporary world politics and politics in independent India. Unit I carries 20, the most of any unit. Short answers of five and six marks make up 54 of the 100 marks, so compact written answers matter most.
In UP Board Class 12 Sociology, a tutor should keep all fifteen units covered, since marks are spread from 2 to 10 per unit. Four units carry 10 each, including demographic structure and social movements, and 5 marks go to project-work methods such as surveys and interviews.
No, the four school unit tests listed in the UP Board History and Sociology files are not added to the examination result. They are held in July, August, November and December for remedial teaching, and the July test includes 10 marks for summer-vacation homework, so they still show what needs work.
Yes, a child in Loni can move from a CBSE school to a UP Board school, and the board lists granting equivalence to other boards' examinations among its functions. Ask the new school how registration applies. A tutor should then focus on model papers, long written answers and the answer-sheet medium.
UP Board arts answers should be written in the medium your child's school uses for the answer sheet, Hindi or English. Since arts marks depend on written expression, ask for a tutor who writes model answers in that language and uses the textbook's own terms.
Ask the tutor which UP Board classes and subjects they have taught recently and how marks are split in your child's subject for 2026-27. Check which books and model papers they use, how they practise maps and timelines for History, and which language their model answers will be in.
