What home tuition costs in Saharanpur

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

UP Board tutors in Saharanpur: maths unit by unit, the arts papers, and the school tests in between

Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, the board most families simply call UP Board, holds two public examinations, High School after Class 10 and Intermediate after Class 12, and Saharanpur's examination and certificate queries go to its regional office at Meerut. If your child is in Classes 9 to 12 on this board and you are thinking about a home tutor, this page is for you. Instead of repeating the Class 10 weights other pages cover, it goes into parts of the board's 2026–27 files that shape a tutor's year: Class 11 and Class 12 mathematics unit by unit, the four school unit tests every file lists, and two Intermediate papers from the arts and commerce side, Geography and Economics. It then covers medium, a tutor's year, six localities and the demo. Every board fact here is from upmsp.edu.in; schemes change, so check the files for your child's session.

The board, and the office that serves Saharanpur

An act of the United Provinces Legislative Council created the board at Prayagraj in 1921, and its first examination followed in 1923. It has always worked on a 10+2 basis, with the High School examination coming after ten years at school and Intermediate after two more. It recognises schools, prescribes the courses and textbooks for both levels, conducts both examinations and grants equivalence to examinations of other boards. The head office is still at Prayagraj, and regional offices were opened at Meerut in 1973, Varanasi in 1978, Bareilly in 1981 and Prayagraj in 1987.

The board's contact page sends Saharanpur, along with Shamli, Muzaffarnagar and other western districts, to the Meerut regional office on Begumpur Road, Begambagh. That office takes queries about examinations, results, duplicate certificates and mark sheets, migration, verification and scrutiny. The same page lists a district-level contact for Saharanpur. None of this is a tutor's business. A tutor teaches; no tutor should offer to "arrange" marks, certificates or anything else with the board, and any such offer is a reason to walk away.

What the board puts online, and how a tutor should use it

Student resources on upmsp.edu.in and their use in tuition
On the siteUse in tuition
Syllabus files for each subject and classRead with the tutor at the start of the session; mark unit weights and any limits on scope
Monthly syllabusKeep home lessons in step with what school will cover that month
Model papers and question bankTimed practice in the last term, marked the way the board marks
Formative assessmentUnderstand how school-level assessment is meant to run through the year
Books, with links to NCERT textbooks and rationalised content, and a price list of NCERT and non-NCERT booksBuy the same books the school uses before the first lesson
Career guidance for agriculture, arts, commerce and science groupsRead together before choosing a group for Class 11

The site also carries advance registration for Classes 9 and 11 and the institutional and private registration for Classes 10 and 12. Schools handle those steps; parents should simply check that the details the school holds are right. Before Class 11, our board and stream guide helps with the group choice.

Class 11 Mathematics: one paper, five units

The 2026–27 Class 11 maths file sets a single question paper of 100 marks, with no internal or project share. Every mark is won on the day, which makes steady written practice more important than in subjects with a practical.

UP Board Class 11 Mathematics, 2026–27
UnitMarksChapters
Sets and functions28Sets, relations and functions, trigonometric functions
Algebra35Complex numbers and quadratic equations, linear inequalities, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem, sequences and series
Coordinate geometry15Straight lines, conic sections, an introduction to three-dimensional geometry
Calculus10Limits and derivatives
Statistics and probability12Mean deviation, variance and standard deviation; probability of events

Algebra and the sets-and-functions unit together carry 63 marks, and trigonometric identities sit inside the second. A student weak in Class 10 algebra will feel it at once, so the tutor's first month often goes on repair: factorising, surds, and solving inequalities on the number line. Calculus is only 10 marks in Class 11 but becomes the largest unit in Class 12, so limits and derivatives should be learnt properly now, not crammed later.

Class 12 Mathematics: calculus carries the paper

UP Board Class 12 Mathematics, 2026–27, with limits stated in the file
UnitMarksScope worth knowing
Relations and functions10Types of relations and functions; inverse trigonometric functions
Algebra15Matrices; determinants up to order 3; solving linear equations with the inverse of a matrix
Calculus44Continuity and differentiability, applications of derivatives, integrals of the listed standard forms, areas, and first order, first degree differential equations
Vectors and three-dimensional geometry18Dot and cross products; lines in space; shortest distance and angle between two lines
Linear programming5Graphical solution in two variables
Probability8Conditional probability, multiplication rule, independent events, total probability, Bayes' theorem

Calculus alone is 44 marks, close to half the paper. A tutor should spread it across the year rather than treat it as one block, and use the file's own limits: the integration chapter names the standard forms to be learnt, and area questions are limited to lines and to circles, parabolas and ellipses in standard form. Students also aiming at entrance tests need more than this; our JEE home tutors in Saharanpur page explains how a tutor builds on the board version. For maths alone, see maths home tutors in Saharanpur.

The four unit tests: marks that do not count, information that does

Every 2026–27 file read for this page ends with the same plan of four school unit tests held for remedial teaching.

Remedial unit tests in the UP Board's 2026–27 syllabus files
TestTypeWhen the file places itMarks
FirstMultiple choiceSecond week of July20, of which 10 are for summer-holiday homework
SecondDescriptiveEnd of August20
ThirdMultiple choiceEnd of November20
FourthDescriptiveEnd of December20

The files state that these marks are not included in the result. That is exactly why they are useful to a tutor. Ask your child to bring each marked test home. The tutor sorts the lost marks into missing concepts, careless slips and poor presentation, and plans the next few weeks around them. The alternation also matters: a child who does well in the multiple-choice tests but poorly in the descriptive ones needs writing practice, not more content. And because the first test counts summer homework, the holiday work is worth doing properly.

Class 12 Geography: two written sections, map work and a practical

Geography is one of the Intermediate subjects, and its 2026–27 file asks for more than learning chapters. The written paper carries 70 and the practical 30.

UP Board Class 12 Geography, 2026–27
PartMarksWhat it covers
Section A: fundamentals of human geography35Population, human development, primary to quaternary activities, transport and communication, international trade; map work 5
Section B: India, people and economy35Population, settlements, land and agriculture, water, minerals and energy, planning, transport, trade, and geographical problems such as pollution; map work 5
Section C: practical30Sources and compiling of data; mean, median and mode; diagrams, thematic, choropleth and isopleth maps; an introduction to GIS

In each map question, half a mark is for the right answer and half for marking it in the right place, so a student who knows the fact but cannot place it loses half. Short, regular map drills fix that. The file also provides five map-related questions instead of map work for visually impaired candidates. The practical needs a minimum of 10 and is split between an external examiner (a short written test, an oral and the practical workbook with a model or chart) and internal marks (a model or chart, the workbook and an oral). A tutor should check the workbook every month and practise the oral questions aloud.

Class 12 Economics: micro first, then macro

UP Board Class 12 Economics, 2026–27: one 100-mark paper
Part A: introductory microeconomicsMarksPart B: introductory macroeconomicsMarks
Introduction4National income and related aggregates12
Consumer equilibrium and demand18Money and banking8
Producer behaviour and supply18Determination of income and employment14
Forms of market and price under perfect competition10Government budget and the economy8
Balance of payments8

Consumer and producer theory together carry 36 marks and depend on reading and drawing curves: indifference curves, budget lines, cost and revenue curves, and demand and supply shifts. Students who learn the definitions but never draw the diagrams lose easy marks. In macroeconomics, national income calculations and the income determination chapter reward worked numerical practice. A commerce or arts tutor should mix both: one diagram and one numerical in every session.

Hindi or English medium

The board's syllabus files for these subjects are published in Hindi. When you write to us, say which language your child answers in, because an economics or maths answer is phrased differently in each. An English-medium student still benefits from a tutor who can explain in Hindi, and a Hindi-medium student meets English technical terms in many chapters, so a tutor at ease in both languages is often the right choice. If a move to another board is on the cards, read our Saharanpur pages for CBSE and ICSE and ISC.

Through the year, term by term

Start of the session

Read each subject's file with the tutor, mark the unit weights, buy the school's books, and plan practical records and the Geography workbook. Treat holiday homework seriously; the first unit test counts it.

Through the session

Follow the board's monthly syllabus, review every unit test, and keep a notebook of repeated mistakes. In maths, one timed set of questions each week; in Geography, map drills; in Economics, one diagram and one numerical.

Before the board paper

Switch to timed practice from the board's model papers and question bank, written in the language of the answer sheet, with short revision rounds on the heaviest units.

For school science, see our Saharanpur science, physics, chemistry and biology pages, and English for the language paper. A science student with medical entrance in mind should also see NEET home tutors in Saharanpur.

How UP Board tutors reach six Saharanpur localities

  • Mission Compound (Mission Compound and Gill Colony): just south of Saharanpur Junction, in the middle of the city, so tutors come from almost every side; useful when a Class 12 maths or economics specialist is needed.
  • Khan Alampura (Mission Compound and Gill Colony): east of the centre, near the railway loco shed that carries its name; give the turning from Janak Nagar.
  • Raj Vihar Colony (Haqikatnagar and Paper Mill Road): family homes off Paper Mill Road; a tutor from Gill Colony or Chander Nagar reaches it easily.
  • Avas Vikas Colony (Haqikatnagar and Paper Mill Road): also written Awas Vikas, with a newer part, New Awas Vikas, on NH709B; book outside the early evening rush on the highway.
  • Chander Nagar (Pant Vihar and Navin Nagar): just south of the centre, also written Chandra Nagar; Chander Nagar Park is the landmark.
  • Navin Nagar (Pant Vihar and Navin Nagar): in the south-west, also spelt Naveen Nagar; write both spellings so map searches work.

Every locality is on the Saharanpur home tutors page, and our Saharanpur home tuition guide covers timing in each zone. When the right specialist cannot reach you, online tutors for Saharanpur fill the gap.

Questions that show a tutor knows the UP Board

  1. Which UP Board subjects and classes do you teach now? Class 11 maths and Class 12 Geography call for different skills.
  2. How many marks does each unit carry this session? Anyone who has opened the board's file will know.
  3. How will you use the school unit tests? Listen for a review of each marked test, not "they do not count".
  4. How will you handle the practical or workbook? Geography and the sciences need a plan for these.
  5. Which books and papers will you use? The school's prescribed books, then the board's model papers and question bank.
  6. Will homework be in Hindi or English? The same language as the answer sheet.

You choose from two or three matched tutors, each with the fee visible before the demo. That first class costs nothing, and nor does a later change of tutor. Our checklist for the demo class suggests further questions.

UP Board Home Tutor in Saharanpur (High School & Intermediate): common questions

How much does a UP Board home tutor in Saharanpur charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. A UP Board tutor in Saharanpur sets their own fee, shown before you book, for High School or Intermediate.

How do I find a UP Board tutor for High School or Intermediate in Saharanpur?

To find a UP Board tutor in Saharanpur, send the class, subjects, group, answer-sheet medium and your colony with a landmark. We reply with two or three matched tutors, each fee shown on the profile. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

Which UP Board office handles results and mark sheets for Saharanpur?

The UP Board regional office at Meerut, on Begumpur Road in Begambagh, handles Saharanpur queries on examinations, results, duplicate certificates and mark sheets, migration, verification and scrutiny. The board's contact page lists it for Saharanpur, Shamli and other western districts. A tutor has no role in any of this.

How are marks split in UP Board Class 11 mathematics for 2026-27?

UP Board Class 11 mathematics in 2026-27 is a single 100-mark paper with no internal part. Sets and functions carry 28, algebra 35, coordinate geometry 15, calculus 10, and statistics and probability 12. A Saharanpur tutor should repair Class 10 algebra early, because two units lean on it.

Which unit carries the most marks in UP Board Class 12 maths?

Calculus carries the most marks in UP Board Class 12 maths for 2026-27, with 44 of the 100. Vectors and three-dimensional geometry follow at 18 and algebra at 15. The file limits integration to listed standard forms, so a Saharanpur tutor should teach exactly those and practise them all year.

Do the UP Board school unit tests count in the final result?

No, the four UP Board school unit tests in the 2026-27 files do not count in the final result. They are for remedial teaching: multiple-choice in July and November, descriptive in August and December. A Saharanpur tutor should review each marked test and plan the next weeks around it.

Why should Saharanpur students do summer homework for the first UP Board unit test?

Saharanpur students should do their summer homework properly because the first UP Board unit test, in the second week of July, gives 10 of its 20 marks to holiday homework. The marks do not count in the result, but they show the tutor how well the holiday work was done.

How is map work marked in UP Board Class 12 Geography?

In UP Board Class 12 Geography, each map question gives half a mark for the right answer and half for the right location. Each written section has 5 marks of map work. Visually impaired candidates get five map-related questions instead. Saharanpur students gain from short, regular map drills with a tutor.

What does the UP Board Class 12 Geography practical involve?

The UP Board Class 12 Geography practical is worth 30 marks, with a minimum of 10 to pass it. It covers data sources, mean, median and mode, diagrams, choropleth and isopleth maps, and an introduction to GIS. A Saharanpur tutor should check the practical workbook monthly and rehearse oral questions.

What should a Saharanpur tutor focus on in UP Board Class 12 Economics?

A Saharanpur tutor teaching UP Board Class 12 Economics should combine diagrams and numericals in every session. Consumer and producer theory carry 36 of the 100 marks and depend on drawing curves, while national income and income determination reward worked calculations. Learning definitions alone loses easy marks.

How do UP Board tutors reach Mission Compound, Avas Vikas Colony or Navin Nagar?

UP Board tutors reach Mission Compound from almost every side, because it sits just south of Saharanpur Junction. For Avas Vikas Colony, tutors come down NH709B, so avoid the early evening rush. For Navin Nagar, write both spellings, Navin and Naveen, so a map search finds you.
