Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Most Saharanpur students who aim for JEE also sit a board in Class 12, often the UP Board's Intermediate examination. So a home tutor's job is to take the chapters a student already meets at school, push them to entrance depth, and keep timed practice going, without letting the board paper or the practical slip. This page explains how that works in Saharanpur: how the UP Board's own physics and maths files line up with the entrance syllabus, which hours of a school week tend to stay free, how tutors reach the colonies south of the junction, and what to watch for in the demo. For the full exam picture, start with our national JEE home tutor guide.
The National Testing Agency conducts JEE (Main). Under its 2026 bulletin, Paper 1 was sat on a computer and split evenly across mathematics, physics and chemistry, 25 questions each: 20 with options to choose from and 5 where the candidate types a numerical value. Altogether, 75 questions and 300 marks. Four marks came for each correct response and one was deducted for each incorrect one, whichever the question type. Candidates could sit two sessions and keep the higher score, and 13 languages were on offer, Hindi among them.
JEE (Advanced) is the second stage, set by the IITs for candidates who qualify through Main. Its 2026 brochure had two papers, both compulsory, available in English or Hindi, and a candidate could try it twice at most, in back-to-back years. These details change. Read the current bulletin on jeemain.nta.nic.in and the current brochure on jeeadv.ac.in before you plan a year around them.
A UP Board science student does not start from zero. The board's 2026–27 syllabus files cover most chapters the entrance paper is built on, and its website links to the NCERT textbooks. What differs is the testing: long written answers, a practical examination and unit weights unlike JEE's. Two files show this.
| Section A (35 marks) | Marks | Section B (35 marks) | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Physical world and measurement | 1 | Properties of bulk matter | 10 |
| Kinematics | 6 | Thermodynamics | 9 |
| Laws of motion | 7 | Kinetic theory of gases | 6 |
| Work, energy and power | 7 | Oscillations and waves | 10 |
| System of particles and rigid body | 7 | ||
| Gravitation | 7 |
Look at the first row. Units and measurement carry a single board mark, yet dimensional analysis and error questions turn up in entrance papers, so a tutor should not skip it just because the board does. Rotational motion is worth 7 board marks but needs far more entrance practice than that weight suggests. The practical counts for 30, and each experiment is marked for handling the apparatus, the observation table, the calculation or graph, the result with units, and the diagram. Vernier callipers, the screw gauge, the simple pendulum and the sonometer are on the list, and reading those instruments well also helps with measurement questions in JEE.
The Class 12 Mathematics file is a single 100-mark paper. Calculus carries 44 marks, vectors and three-dimensional geometry 18, algebra 15, relations and functions 10, probability 8 and linear programming 5. The board also sets limits: determinants up to order 3, integration only of the standard forms the file lists, and differential equations of the first order and first degree. JEE goes past every one of those limits. A good tutor teaches the board version first, so the board answer is safe, then extends the same chapter to entrance level. Our UP Board tutors in Saharanpur page sets out the board's other papers.
For school-subject help, our Saharanpur maths, physics and chemistry pages go subject by subject.
The hour that matters is the one that stays free in every week, test weeks and the practical season included. List the school timetable, any class your child attends and family commitments, then find the gap that survives all of them.
| Slot | What it suits | Local point |
|---|---|---|
| Straight after school, before evening study | A home session in the weakest subject | Tutors coming down NH709B or across the centre arrive before the early evening rush |
| Weekend morning | A timed practice paper, with its review that afternoon | Easiest time for a tutor from another zone to cross the city |
| After dinner | A handful of doubts cleared online | No travel at night; the day's questions are still in mind |
| School unit-test weeks | Revision only, no new entrance chapters | Keeps school marks and entrance work from colliding |
UP Board files list four school unit tests per subject, for remedial teaching, not counted in the result; those weeks suit review. The Haqikatnagar and Paper Mill Road and Pant Vihar and Navin Nagar zone pages give more timing tips for the southern side of the city.
With a coaching class in the week, the tutor's list comes from its unfinished sheets and lost test marks. Our coaching or home tutor guide uses Gurugram examples, yet its division of jobs between class and tutor holds in Saharanpur too.
Tutors from most of the city can reach the colonies south and east of Saharanpur Junction. The outer south-western colonies have fewer tutors close by, so the search there widens sooner.
| Locality | Where tutors come from | Share in advance |
|---|---|---|
| Mission Compound | From almost any part of the city, since it sits just south of the junction | House name or number, the lane and a map pin |
| Gill Colony | From the central belt and the old city side | Lane, house number and who will open the door |
| Haqikatnagar | From Gill Colony or Chander Nagar | Both spellings, Haqikatnagar and Hakikat Nagar, so a map search works |
| Avas Vikas Colony | Down NH709B from the centre | Older colony or New Awas Vikas, plus any block number on the plate |
| Chander Nagar | From Mission Compound or the Railway Colony side | Which side of Chander Nagar Park you live on |
| Pant Vihar | From Navin Nagar or Chander Nagar; online for specialists further away | The nearest neighbouring colony, such as Indraprasth Colony or Rohit Vihar |
The Mission Compound and Gill Colony zone page covers the central belt, every locality is listed on the Saharanpur home tutors page, and the Saharanpur home tuition guide goes zone by zone.
| Subject | Format that tends to work | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Physics | At home | The tutor needs to watch how the problem is set up, which principle is picked and where the free-body diagram goes wrong |
| Mathematics | Mostly at home; review of a finished test can be online | Pages of working are easier to follow at the table; a marked test is easy to share on screen |
| Chemistry | Online for reactions, trends and facts; home visits when mole and equilibrium problems are the weak spot | Recall is checked quickly in many small sittings |
When a problem set goes beyond what nearby tutors handle, an online specialist elsewhere can be the stronger choice, and families in Saharanpur can also look at tutors on our Meerut and Lucknow pages who teach online. For online maths or physics, the tutor must see the working as it is written, through a phone clipped above the notebook or a writing tablet. More on this in online tutors for Saharanpur and our home tutor versus online tutor article.
Class 11 lays the base for everything after it. Mechanics, early calculus and the mole concept all arrive together. Keep the practical record moving from the first month, and do not let rotational motion or thermodynamics pass on board-level practice alone.
Fresh chapters, Class 11 revision, mock papers, the practical and the board paper all compete for the same months. In the first fortnight, ask the tutor to block out the board-writing weeks on a calendar, so the final term does not swallow them.
Sit with last year's papers and list, for every question, why the mark was or was not earned. Rebuild those chapters before anything else. With the school day gone, daytime home sessions open up more tutors. Confirm the eligibility rules in this year's documents first.
For subject depth, read the JEE physics tutor page and the topic-wise plans for maths, physics and chemistry.

The UP Board course covers most JEE chapters, but not to entrance depth. Its 2026-27 Class 12 maths file limits determinants to order 3, integration to listed standard forms and differential equations to first order. A Saharanpur tutor should teach the board version first, then extend each chapter to entrance level.
A Saharanpur UP Board student should not skip units and measurement, because entrance papers ask about dimensions and errors. The board's 2026-27 Class 11 physics file gives that unit a single mark out of the 70-mark paper, so students often pass over it. A tutor should practise it anyway.
JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 had 25 questions in each of maths, physics and chemistry: 20 multiple-choice and 5 numerical. That made 75 questions for 300 marks, with four marks for a right answer and one off for a wrong one. Saharanpur students should check the current NTA bulletin.
Yes, a Hindi-medium student in Saharanpur can prepare for JEE with a tutor who teaches the technical terms in Hindi. The 2026 JEE Main bulletin offered 13 paper languages, including Hindi, and the 2026 JEE Advanced brochure offered English and Hindi. Pick the language early and practise in it every week.
For the southern colonies of Saharanpur, the hour straight after school and weekend mornings are the slots a JEE tutor can keep most easily. A tutor coming down NH709B or across the centre arrives before the early evening rush. Late evenings work for short online doubt sessions, and school unit-test weeks for revision only.
JEE tutors reach Mission Compound from most of Saharanpur, since it sits just south of the junction. Haqikatnagar is easy from Gill Colony or Chander Nagar; write both spellings. Pant Vihar has fewer tutors close by, so give a neighbouring colony and expect online help for some specialist subjects.
Often, yes: a Saharanpur JEE student usually gains most from physics at the table, where the tutor watches each set-up. Long maths working also suits home sessions. Chemistry reactions and recall checks work well online. A specialist teaching online from another city can help with harder entrance problems.
A Saharanpur student planning a second JEE attempt should first go through last year's papers question by question to see where marks were lost. Rebuild those chapters before anything new. Daytime home sessions widen the choice of tutor. Check the eligibility rules in the current bulletin and brochure.
