Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Chemistry is three subjects wearing one name. Physical chemistry is numbers and units, organic chemistry is a map of reactions, and inorganic chemistry is a set of trends that need a reason behind each one. A Class 11 or 12 student in Dhanbad can be comfortable in one branch and lost in another, and a school week rarely leaves time to find out which. A home chemistry tutor can, in one quiet session at the study table. Tell NXTutors the board, the class, whether NEET or JEE is planned, and your locality, and we send two or three chemistry tutors who fit. Their fees are on the shortlist, and the first lesson is a free demo.
Plenty of Class 12 students in Dhanbad juggle a board paper with an entrance exam. Here is how differently the four main papers handle chemistry:
Both NTA papers in 2026 added four marks for each right answer and took away one for each wrong one. NTA confirms its pattern each year, so read the current bulletin. For chapter priorities, see the NEET chemistry chapters worth extra time, the JEE chemistry guide by branch and our NEET chemistry tutor page. The NEET home tutors in Dhanbad page covers all three NEET subjects.
The Jharkhand Academic Council, based in Ranchi, holds the Intermediate examination at Class 12 and prescribes the course of study. It revises syllabus and pattern from time to time, so this page does not describe a JAC chemistry paper. The council's site, jac.jharkhand.gov.in, carries its notices and model question papers, and links to NCERT e-books.
Three points shape a good choice of tutor for a JAC student. Lessons should be in the medium your child writes in, with the textbook's own technical terms. Practice should come from the prescribed book and the council's model papers rather than another board's question bank. And the practical file and viva need a plan from early in the year, not the month before the exam. Our Jharkhand board tutors in Dhanbad page covers the council's other subjects.
CBSE gives each chemistry chapter its own share of the 70 theory marks, which turns the syllabus into a planning sheet. The 2026-27 paper keeps the earlier design, and its ten chapters group naturally by branch:
| Branch | Total | Chapters (marks) | Practice that pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organic | 33 | Amines, 6; alcohols, phenols and ethers, 6; haloalkanes and haloarenes, 6; biomolecules, 7; aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids, 8 | Conversion chains written from memory; named reactions; tests that tell compounds apart |
| Physical | 23 | Kinetics, 7; solutions, 7; electrochemistry, 9 | Each numerical set out with its units; half-life and rate-law problems done slowly |
| Inorganic | 14 | Coordination compounds, 7; the d- and f-block, 7 | Each trend stated with one clear reason; naming and isomers |
There are five lettered sections, a few questions offer an internal choice, and neither calculators nor log tables may be used. About 40% of the paper checks recall and understanding; the remaining 60% wants application, analysis or evaluation. Our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide takes the chapters one at a time, and our Class 12 chemistry tutor page shows how we plan the board year.
For 2026-27, CBSE has taken the solid state out of Class 12 completely, along with the p-block chapter covering Groups 15 to 18. Another four topics remain on the syllabus yet never appear in the board paper, because only the school marks them: isolation of elements, polymers, surface chemistry, and the chapter on chemistry in everyday life.
Students preparing for NEET or JEE should take care here. NTA publishes its own entrance syllabi, and material the board has dropped, including those p-block groups, may still be tested there. Use the board's list for board revision only, and read the official entrance syllabus before striking anything off.
A fair amount. Of the 30 CBSE marks, volumetric analysis and salt analysis bring 8 each, a content-based experiment brings 6, and the project and the record-plus-viva bring 4 apiece. In this session's titration, potassium permanganate is run against oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, and each student weighs out and prepares the standard solution alone.
No lab is needed to practise the molarity sum for a weighed sample, to set out burette readings in a clean table, or to learn the salt-analysis sequence from the first dry tests to the confirmatory ones. A tutor can also help pick a project small enough to do honestly, and ask the usual viva question: why does a permanganate titration need no added indicator? JAC students should ask the school how its practical is run and marked, and prepare the record with the same care.
Almost every Class 12 chapter leans on something from Class 11. The mole concept returns in solutions and electrochemistry; equilibrium returns in electrochemistry and kinetics; and the first organic chapters, with their reaction types and naming, sit under every conversion question. So a shaky Class 11 shows up again twelve months on, both on the board paper and in entrance practice, and fixing it early takes much less effort than fixing it under board-year pressure. The Class 11 chemistry tutor page goes further.
Home lessons should follow the school chapter, not race ahead of it. Two visits a week can cover all three branches in a steady pattern:
| Visit | First part | Second part |
|---|---|---|
| First | The student explains the week's school chapter aloud, without notes, so gaps show at once | One physical chemistry numerical solved line by line while the tutor watches for slips in units or powers of ten |
| Second | The organic reaction map, linking alcohols, carbonyl compounds, acids and amines, redrawn from memory and checked against NCERT | Two "give reasons" questions written and corrected before the tutor leaves |
Inorganic chemistry suits short oral quizzes drawn line by line from NCERT, each trend followed by the question "why?"; NEET often tests the textbook sentence itself.
Each address brings its own small arrangements, and these six localities in central and north-east Dhanbad are typical. You can compare tutors locality by locality on the Dhanbad page.
Hirapur and Dhaiya. Hirapur's homes and offices line Luby Circular Road, so name the lane you turn into. Dhaiya runs along the road towards Barwada, with apartment blocks among houses and shops; say which side of that road you live on. Because these localities sit side by side, a chemistry tutor teaching in one can often take a lesson in the other the same evening.
Bank More and Matkuria. Bank More is the city's busy shopping centre, with flats and houses on the lanes behind the shops, and Matkuria runs along Katras Road beside it, mostly in apartment buildings. Give the building, block and floor, suggest a side lane, and choose a slot that avoids the evening rush.
Dhansar and Kusum Vihar. Dhansar sits on the road towards Jharia and can draw tutors from both directions, which helps for Class 11 and 12 chemistry. Kusum Vihar mixes township quarters and apartment buildings; give the quarter number and type, or the block and flat number, and pass the tutor's name on if the entrance asks.
Close to the pre-boards, moving one weekly visit online keeps the revision plan steady if a route becomes unreliable. The Saraidhela and Koyla Nagar zone page has more local tips.
Teachers for these courses may be harder to find nearby, so name the course in your first message. A practical pairing is an online specialist for the course and a local tutor who marks written practice.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor names their own rate. Put three questions to every tutor on the list: which paper have you taught most recently, how would you divide time between board and entrance work, and could an online class replace a visit in a busy week? Fees are visible before the demo, and the Dhanbad home tuition fees guide adds more.
Tell us the class and board, which exam matters most, the branch where marks slip, your locality with a nearby landmark, and your free evenings. You receive two or three chemistry tutors with fees and choose one for the free demo; a second demo is arranged if the first tutor is not right, and a change of tutor later costs nothing. When nobody suitable can reach you, we propose online or part-online lessons. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Organic chemistry carries the most, 33 of the 70 CBSE Class 12 theory marks in 2026-27. Physical chemistry brings 23 and inorganic 14. Within organic, aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids are worth 8 and biomolecules 7, so a Dhanbad student should practise conversion chains and named reactions every week.
The solid state and the p-block elements of Groups 15 to 18 have left the 2026-27 CBSE Class 12 course. Polymers, surface chemistry, chemistry in everyday life and the isolation of elements stay in the syllabus but are marked only by the school. NEET or JEE students in Dhanbad should still check the NTA syllabus.
The 30-mark CBSE Class 12 chemistry practical gives 8 marks to volumetric analysis and 8 to salt analysis. An experiment from the theory syllabus brings 6, the project 4, and the record and viva 4. Each student prepares the standard solution alone, so a Dhanbad tutor should rehearse the molarity calculation.
A JAC Intermediate chemistry student in Dhanbad should choose a tutor who teaches in the medium the student writes in. That tutor should use the book the council prescribes and practise from the council's model papers on jac.jharkhand.gov.in. Ask how the tutor will plan the practical file and viva from early in the year.
Chemistry was 45 of the 180 NEET (UG) 2026 questions, worth 180 of 720 marks, and 25 of the 75 JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 questions. Both exams gave four marks for a right answer and took one for a wrong one. A Dhanbad student should confirm the current pattern in the NTA bulletin.
A Dhanbad student should fix Class 11 chemistry first because Class 12 builds on it. The mole concept returns in solutions and electrochemistry, equilibrium returns in electrochemistry and kinetics, and early organic chapters sit under every conversion question. A term on foundations is easier than repairs in the board year.
A Bank More or Matkuria family should give the building, block and floor, and suggest a side lane for the tutor. Pick a slot that avoids the evening rush on the shopping roads and Katras Road. If a route becomes unreliable near the pre-boards, move one weekly visit online.
Chemistry tutors are shortlisted for a Dhanbad student from the class, board, locality and the hours free after school. You get two or three matched tutors with fees shown first. In the free demo, ask the tutor to balance one redox equation and talk through a salt-analysis step. Switching tutor later is free if the fit is wrong.
