Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

For medical entrance, a Cuttack student has to satisfy two quite different examiners. The +2 board, most often the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha, wants written answers: short notes, differences, labelled diagrams and long explanations. NEET wants fast, accurate choices from four options, with a mark lost for every wrong one. A home tutor earns a place by bridging those two styles for one student: checking that last week's NCERT biology is still remembered, sitting through physics numericals until the method is secure, and keeping the board's practical work moving. This page explains how families from Mangalabag to Chauliaganj set that up. The national NEET home tutor page covers the exam and syllabus in full.
The National Testing Agency's 2026 information bulletin set NEET (UG) as one pen-and-paper sitting with 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions: 45 in physics, 45 in chemistry and 90 in biology, botany and zoology together, for a total of 720 marks. A right answer earned four marks and a wrong one cost one. The syllabus comes from the National Medical Commission; its biology section has ten units, five drawn from Class 11 and five from Class 12, and follows the NCERT books. The bulletin is revised every year, so read the current one on neet.nta.nic.in before fixing any plan.
The council's rationalised biology syllabus splits the subject into a botany paper and a zoology paper, each worth 35 marks and each lasting an hour and a half. Both papers follow one pattern, and it explains a lot about the habits a NEET student brings from school.
| Question type in the CHSE paper | Marks | What it trains, and the NEET gap |
|---|---|---|
| Multiple-choice | 5 | The only part close to NEET; far too little practice on its own |
| Fill in the blank or one-word answer | 5 | Exact terms, which NEET options often hinge on |
| Short notes | 10 | Explaining a process; useful, but slow compared with picking an option |
| "Differentiate between" | 5 | Comparing two structures or processes, a common source of NEET distractors |
| Long questions | 10 | Extended writing with diagrams; no NEET equivalent, but vital for the board |
The prescribed books are NCERT Biology and the state bureau's Higher Secondary Biology. Because NEET questions are built on NCERT lines, a tutor should check which of the two the school actually teaches from, and keep the NCERT text as the base for revision either way. Practicals count too: each paper has a practical of 15 marks, split between a major experiment, spotting, the record and a viva. The biology home tutor in Cuttack page covers the school side.
The plan below is an example for a Class 12 student, not a rule. What matters is the shape: biology in short, frequent checks, physics in fewer and fuller sittings, and one paper a week reviewed properly.
| When | What happens | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Most mornings | One section of the current NCERT biology chapter, read and summarised in the student's own words | Self-study |
| Two short evening slots | The tutor asks for processes aloud and diagrams from memory | Online |
| One long sitting | Physics: class doubts first, one concept rebuilt, then timed numericals | At home |
| One sitting | Chemistry, on whichever half is weaker this month | Home or online |
| A weekend morning | A full practice paper on paper with a separate answer sheet, marked and then discussed | At home |
Around Badambadi and Link Road the main roads stay crowded through much of the day, so a tutor from the same set of colonies, or the online slot for the short checks, keeps the week from falling apart.
Chemistry confuses NEET planning because it behaves like two subjects. Physical chemistry is calculation, and a tutor has to see the working line by line, much as in physics. Inorganic chemistry and much of organic are recall and pattern: periodic trends, reactions, reagents and conversions, which respond to quick, repeated checks. Organic mechanisms sit between, needing reasoning as well as memory. Ask the tutor at the demo which half is costing your child marks, and book sessions for that half rather than for "chemistry" in general.
The council's practical adds a third strand. In the Class 11 chemistry practical, salt analysis for the acid radical carries 10 marks, split between dry and wet tests, alongside a second experiment, a viva and the record. Those marks reward careful observation, not speed, so practise them in the school laboratory and keep the record up to date rather than leaving it to the last month. The chemistry home tutor in Cuttack page has more on the board course.
Physics is where many NEET students lose the most marks for the time they spend. The fault is rarely the formula; it is the first step, choosing which principle applies. That is why physics usually works better at home: the tutor can watch the set-up, the units and the diagram, and stop the student at the first wrong move instead of at the wrong answer. Under CHSE, the same subject has a 70-mark theory paper, a 30-mark practical and at least eight experiments in the year. A tutor who keeps those on schedule protects the board result while entrance practice goes on. See physics home tutors in Cuttack and the NEET physics tutor page.
Our NCERT-first NEET biology guide explains why the textbook comes before any extra material, whichever board your child is on.
The 2026 bulletin offered a booklet in English, a bilingual Hindi and English booklet, and English paired with one of several regional languages, 13 options in all. In Cuttack many students learned science in Odia up to Class 10 and in English after it, so the choice deserves thought. Check in the current bulletin whether an Odia and English booklet is offered, decide early, and learn biology terms in that language from Class 11. A tutor can explain in Odia when a concept is new while insisting that practice answers use the booklet's terms.
| Locality | Typical way in for a tutor | Detail to share |
|---|---|---|
| Mangalabag | From the central wards, up towards the Mahanadi side | The colony, such as Friends Colony or Nuapatana, and the lane off Mangalabag Main Road |
| Ranihat | Along the main road that runs towards Cuttack Junction | Whether you live nearer Bajrakabati Road or the canal |
| Badambadi | From Link Road or the old city side; buses stop at the city terminus here | A landmark away from the junction itself |
| Khannagar | From the Link Road colonies towards the Kathajodi | The colony, such as Arunodaya Nagar, and the tutor's name passed to any gate |
| Chauliaganj | Along the road towards Paradeep | The vihar name, such as Anand Vihar, and a side lane to stop in |
| Naya Bazar | From Andarpur or the Gosala Road side | Both spellings, Naya Bazar and Nuabazar, with the lane |
Zone pages: Mangalabag, Ranihat and College Square, Badambadi and Link Road and Madhupatna, Naya Bazar and Mahanadi Vihar. Every locality is on the Cuttack home tutors page.
| Stage | Focus | Cuttack note |
|---|---|---|
| Class 11 | The five Class 11 biology units; mechanics made secure; a glossary in the booklet language | For students moving from Odia medium, the glossary matters most this year |
| Class 12 | Biology revision in rounds; timed physics; written practice before the botany and zoology papers | Keep the physics, chemistry and biology practical records moving each month |
| A repeat year | Last year's papers studied for patterns of lost marks; weak chapters rebuilt | Daytime home slots widen the choice of tutor |
On paper practice, one rule matters: because a wrong answer costs a mark, agree with the tutor when a doubtful question should be left, then follow that rule in every mock. After each paper, the tutor should note answers marked wrong, questions left blank and where time ran out, subject by subject.

CHSE botany and zoology are written papers of 35 marks each, while NEET biology is all multiple-choice. In the council's pattern, only 5 marks per paper are multiple-choice; the rest are one-word answers, short notes, differences and long questions. A NEET student needs far more timed option practice than the board papers give.
NCERT Biology should be the base for NEET revision, because NEET questions follow NCERT lines. The CHSE syllabus prescribes NCERT Biology alongside the state bureau's Higher Secondary Biology, so check which one your child's school teaches from and fill any NCERT gaps with the tutor.
NEET (UG) 2026 had 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions for 720 marks, according to the NTA bulletin. Biology had 90 questions, physics 45 and chemistry 45. A correct answer earned four marks and a wrong one lost one, in a single pen-and-paper sitting. Check the current bulletin each year.
The 2026 NEET bulletin offered English, a Hindi and English booklet, and English with one of several regional languages, 13 options in all. Check the current bulletin to confirm whether Odia is listed, decide early, and learn biology terms in the chosen language from Class 11 onwards.
Book chemistry sessions for the half your child is actually losing marks in, not chemistry in general. Physical chemistry needs worked numericals like physics, while inorganic and much of organic need quick recall checks. Ask the tutor in the demo to find the weaker half from a recent test.
NEET tutors usually reach Mangalabag from the central wards, Badambadi from Link Road or the old city, and Chauliaganj along the road towards Paradeep. Share the colony name in Mangalabag, a landmark away from Badambadi junction, and a side lane in Chauliaganj where a two-wheeler can stop.
NEET physics is usually taught at home because most marks are lost at the first step, choosing the right principle. A tutor at the table can watch the set-up, units and diagram, and stop the student at the first wrong move. Short biology recall checks, by contrast, work well online.
